My current 2018 13 inch lags with a ton of safari tabs, gonna cop this for the better screen and better ecosystem integration with Apple Silicon!

good video! i got my macbook but in spacegrey and i think i made a mistake because the silver looks so much nicer. I had some questions if possible... the keyboard doesn't reflect too much light, it doesn't distract too much? And the mini silver border around the screen, do you notice it when you use it (on the spacegrey as it's grey you don't notice it) good evening and thanks for your answer!

the pros are insanely over kill for the average student, you’re in a unique situation where you actually have a professional workflow (making videos) that demands pro power, but for the majority of students i think the upcoming air remodel in 2022 will be much more worth it
depends on what you're studying tho
yeah if youre like a psychology student or law student, mostly web browsing note taking etc. id even recommend an ipad pro over the macbooks

@@everytingauto At 8:25 you wanted to keep touching the screen, this is exatcly what i felt when picked it up and started using it. This is my only problem, with this machine, and the iPad pro doesn't solve the problem at all, because it's operating system, because its smaller screen, and worse aspect ratio for multitasking. Hope apple will finaly put a touchacren on to the m2 or m3 pro varients. Until then i have to keep searching on the windows side, for school, producktivity, photo, video editing and gaming. My only real options are the microsoft laptop studio, but it's screen is too reflective, and not as colour accurate, but it has 120hz, and ut also has 3:2 aspect rtio, which i dont like but at least bigger, than the iPad, and the dell xps 15 9510, it's good all around, but has no highv refresh rate, and it's performance is far worse than all 14 inch mbp not to mentrion the top of the line M1 max. And i9 for xps is a no go cause overheating after short amount of time. So my dream is a touchscreen mbp or a 15 inch 16:10 aspect ratio ipad pro, or at least 3:2 with at least 14 inch of screen size. But i have weak hopes about those. :D

There’s apps you can download. Like, magnets, for example
For the same cost I’d go with a mac mini and an iPad Pro 12.9 cellular with magic keyboard. It gives you redundancy if one of them would go down you still have the other one. With cellular you have superior connectivity always online wherever you are. Also if your phone battery dies you’re again redundant as you can keep communication with the iPad on the go. At home you have the desktop experience with the Mac mini for lengthy work sessions.
Do you think this laptop still holds up and is worth it in 2023? seeing as how the new M2 pro's are out

How do u organize your windows?
I use an application called Bettersnaptool. It's what allows the windows to snap into place.
So im using an Ipad Pro 11" for notetaking that for me has to he handwritten (such as maths, biogoloy, etc.). But i know i need an extra Laptop for researching things, watching videos etc. while i take notes and learn on my ipad. My question is, should i get the macbook pro 14" or the macbook air. And if i should take the air, should i wait till 2022 to get the newer one, if there is a newer one in 2022. Thanks alot if someone can help me and give some info :)

I am not really into the Air, since I also edit video, photos, create 3D model and develop/design software.

But i worry about the 13" of the Air is bit too small... Now i use a 15.6" and its nice not too big and not too small... I hope someone can help us haha
@@legendjxli1266 yeah, well I don’t really know since I never owned a laptop. Just my base iPad Pro 11 which does the job, but I kinda feel like I need a real computer to code/3D model on… there are some apps on iPad for editing which are not too bad, but of course nothing compared to Premiere or After Effects…
Do you think they will make some M2 mbp in the near future? Because that could be the hit (maybe with lower prices ahaha)

I would definitly wait till 2022 if you dont need it now. Could be a crazy year for apple... I also hope maybe for a macbook air with 14" would be the best for me! But if you need it know i would go for the pro as its the latest one prbly the 14". Just watch videos which Prozessor Config fits you the best. And for the Ssd i wouldnt take more than 1tb. Maybe think of getting the 512gb as its cheaper and if you need get and external ssd, they are much cheaper!

Unless you do photo/video/music editing or other heavy apps like 3d design etc. The base model MBP 14” is $1799 which is not too far off the 13” or M2 Air with same specs.

I ise a 14 inch with 32 Gigs of Ram for 3d animation, video editing and photo editing.
I need the performance and color accuracy actually.
It is pretty overkill when looking for a method to write down stuff but for me its pretty much ideal.
It is kinda stupid if you're just a student and want a Mac and decide to buy the new M1 pro/max macbook. These new Macs are not for average consumers, big waste of money if you ask me

You talk nothing about a student perspective. No Word or Excel performance, no note taking apps perfomance, no nothing.
That’s fair.
I have the M1 Mac Mini with 16GB primary memory and upgraded SSD, and I can say it has zero difficulty handling Word and Excel-even automating Excel with Python 😁. It also handles GSuite effortlessly. I haven’t used it for Excel with hundreds of thousands of rows of data, though, because I only use data sets that large for work and work provides a Windows 10 machine. However, IMO, if you are not a student who 1) specifically needs video editing, computer graphics, digital media tools, or multiple virtual machines/containers running, or 2) wants a 14” or 16” screen, then there’s very little reason to go for the MacBook pro. Not _no_ reason, though. That screen looks amazing 😅, and FOMO is real. But if you can hold out another 6 months, there’s likely to be an even more amazing MacBook Air or similar perfect for most of us.
That said, maybe you already knew all that and were just commenting on the title. 👍🏾
He’s a student and it’s his perspective, I myself as a computer science student barely used word or excel.
The M1 Pro is a VERY powerful CPU. Most creative students already know it’s going to easily handle note taking or anything less intensive than something like video editing. That’s the reason I didn’t talk about Excel, Word etc.
Come on... The video was just fine, but you just start talking about video editing... 99% of us simple don't care about that.
Thanks for watching but I disagree. A ton of creative students purchase this laptop for video editing.

You should of got 16” The 14” is for girls who can’t carry 16” 🤣
So I decided to go with the greatest no brainer configuration 16.5" M1 Pro base model for an extra 200$ over the 14" M1 pro base model. Mainly because you get a bigger XDR display and it has more battery life then the MacBook air! Plus I get two extra CPU cores & two extra GPU cores which is a bonus for me. In addition I also upgraded the SSD to 1TB for future proofing.
