Lonsdale is one of my favorite characters in the game, hands-down. He has a certain commitment for his nation, but also does his best to be reasonable to everyone. He tries to find peaceful solutions in the midst of a war, and yet, he fails. There's a few other points to his character that come up later that flesh out his character more, but all in all, this guy is awesome. Also, I love how his drink with Seth mirrors the flashback you see later of him having a drink with Sir Sloan.
The fact Lonsdale speaks with such tranquility and never raises his voice nor loses his temper like other bosses do is exactly what makes him such an intimidating boss, possibly the most terrifying boss in the entire Bravely series.
I think it's nice how we got to spend some time with Lonsdale without him trying to kill us. We got to see things from his perspective. He's actually a very nice person who wants to avoid the loss of blood when he can. Things aren't always black and white, and even Adam is being manipulated. Perhaps if we weren't on opposite sides, we could be friends or even allies with him.
Surprisingly he does eventually resign from Adam's forces, soon after it was already disbanded. He makes amend by sorting out troublemakers along with helping out young soldiers in doing the right thing and staying out of trouble.
I think in a sidequest later on in the airship dungeon he actually does help you when surrounded by bandits and he fights off one side while your party fight the other
I love Lonsdale. His motivations and his ideals are so different than his colleagues. I love the fact the guy was willing to just sit down and have a drink with Seth. Plus his job is good too. Also, Vernon is a good ruler. Has to be the least bloodthirsty ruler in the game who's still willing to put his money where his mouth is.
It's great to see a reasonable person within Holograd, even shown to be quite observant. Now if only he can be the replacement for Sir Sloan as our main DPS. Teehee
He must've been a pretty great king to have created such a kingdom like holograd and have such a dutiful soldier like Lonsdale swearing loyalty to him and his lineage. Which is a shame because his son wound up disgracing the kingdom in the end, inevitably causing its downfall.
Poor Lonsdale, when I fought him my entire party was immune to light because I was screwing around with electon spam for the group fights. He dealt damage to me like twice the entire fight. The fact that I had four dark users didn’t help either...
22:04 Since Sloan and Lonsdale were friends/rivals, I can't help but feel this fits. Gloria: Where were you when Sir Sloan died protecting us from your leader? Lonsdale: i was at house eating Dorito when bord arrive. 'Sloan is kil.' no
It's not perfect, but some VAs stand out like Sloan or Lonsdale imo. Granted, I think Sloan's is actually the same guy who voiced Dunban in Xenoblade Chronicles.
Lonsdale is a cool guy. Feels kind of bad that he has yet another defensive flavoured job in a game w/ like five of those but oh well. You win some, you lose some. Like when you lose a kingdom to a man named Seth.
I like Lonsdale because he was willing to listen if you defeated him and he has a drink with the party before you go to fight him. Plus the guy was honorable.
I’m just gonna say... I went into this fight completely cold (no prep ability switching or whatever) THIS boss is absolutely the cruelest one so far! Counter defaulting?! REALLY!? I got luckily because I essentially had three healers on my team plus the basic poison stall but this boss wrecked you if you didn’t have the right abilities equipped.

He has a depth that I wish they’d done more with.
Yeah…that’s more I can say about Helio.

Because he’s the most disciplined out of everyone else, like Sir Sloan.

Lonsdale is good people.
Lonsdale's an upstanding man in the wrong country

Vernon: you are officially pardoned.
Lonsdale: thank you your majesty.
Vernon: from life.
Lonsdale: what?

I think Roddy's up there, although he doesn't exactly get the chance like Vernon has. Otherwise, you're right. Vernon definitely is.

This makes me want to see what Adam's father was like now since he got Lonsdale to work for him.

How hard can you break the game?
Omega: "yes"

for an enemy commander, Lonsdale is a reasonable commander, nice that we weren't forced to kill him.
also, swordmaster's knife go brrrrrrrttttt

Lonsdale is a bro.
man i love the VA on this game

remember vigintio? hahaha
To add on to this, Lonsdale's voiced by the same guy who was King Carnelian in Dragon Quest XI.
The future is now, old man!
3:00 Dang he's quite perceptive that he knew what the protagonist is up to

11:05 Yes, but everyone should know by now we're bad at listening.
_When Kings err, Men really do die._

Seth: "Phew! That was a heck of a fight"
*fight literally ended in one turn*
This is the only asterisk fight that actually gave me a lot of trouble cuz I had a physical build team, damn, that physical reflect is so strong.
Wow that’s some massive damage
Man Disciple Noskcid looking kinda different

Hoo! That was a heck of a fight! - Seth
This boss fight took a long time but I thought it was fun.
5:58 ummmm....
