This... plus a quadrocopter... would be insane.

Surprised the military hasnt caught on to this as a item. Wouldnt take much to make it military grade hardware. I can think of a few things it could be used for.

really cool but it would be possible to extend the range of a couple of miles on a TX / RX as some planes or radio-controlled model cars?

yup, they have developed a good program for the walk. and probably use good quality servos for the main leg motions. this platform is superior to current biped bots and anything on rollers simply because of the multi-terrain capability. program a climbing gait and it would probably make it better than tracked platforms for mobility.

I think if you can improve its feet, give like rubber padding of sorts, it'll go faster. And have some grip too. I don't know, I'm not an expert.

Yeah, price is definitely steeper than I expected for a remote control robot. You can get your own Nao for 6k though :-p

For 16 k, I would Like to see a program upgrade, The movement and range of the legs while it runs is very inefficient, It would be interesting to see the legs reach all the way forward by pointing its legs straight forward, then it would pull the leg down while adjusting the joints. It would be able to gallop, well, not gallop, but move faster. The hips or the first joint of the legs barely rotate, I hope they soon take full advantage of the wide range of motion and upgrade its walk program.

1:50 weird, if they need a robot just for camera duty you think they'd chose somethign small. A delta robot attached to the building would probably be an even better option.

I want to be a robotics engineer and i found out this video. Really loving PhantomX. But it was invented 7 years ago. Wow the world has changed a lot. And i should try my best to "catch" the development of technology. Now i'm just 17 years old.

Do not see the advantage over wheels for this one. What advantage does this give over wheels? I bet wheels or tracks would even be able to scale a bigger incline

Super fast indeed. Try and build a hexapod yourself and you'll see the limitations quickly. This is the fastest commercially priced one I've seen.
And the price is normal. Strong and quick servos are expensive and there's 3 in each leg.
