- How to do the common air box modification on your 2003, 2004, 2005, or 2006 Kawasaki Z1000.
Note: This is not recommended unless you have a fuel controller (like a power commander) to re-map the fuel table.

He can do what he likes man. Be appreciative not critical
how long you own this bike? Any major issues?
I bought it from the original owner in 2017, and I've put over 10,000 miles on it. It currently has about 34k on the clock and I have not had any major issues. It's a very simply designed analog bike with few electronics and a reputable motor. I'm actually a Suzuki fan myself, but I will vouch for Kawasaki's diehard engines, they won't let you down!
i have california version 2003 :) but i'm not from california :(
Where did you get this nice stickers from?!^^ thx
If you are talking about the "1000" decals on the tail, I made them on a printer at work, but they are not holding up well. You can't really see it in the video, but the ink is starting to fade and crack from sun damage. I'm going to have to remove them. Oh, well...I only put them on there because I got tired of people asking me if it was a 600, lol.
Do you have to re tune the bike for the new air box lid???
Yes, I would recommend a re-tune.
@@lonelyryder7441finaly every chage in a setti'g needs a re tune
And u feel difference? Plz explain ur power gains
Please keep in mind that this mod only makes sense to do if you are also going to install an aftermarket exhaust (with no cat) and a fuel controller, like a power commander. I don't have Dyno numbers to give, but if you do all of those together it makes a BIG difference!
It’s better to rip the whole air box out n put air filter pods on
Yes, I said in the video that to increase the airflow even more you would have to go to filter pods.
