If someone told me in 1981 that this band would have their first No.1 studio album in 2023, I'd have just laughed at them.
is it n 1????
Yes it was
Brilliant if I close my eyes it's 1980 and I'm a 12 year old kid again in my little Harrington jacket and loafers. Suggs was my hero throughout school, I remember getting my first flat top haircut in my early teens and thinking I looked the dogs bollocks lol.
Don't forget the Ben sherman and crombie.....Happy days .
Still have my Christmas Madness Jumper.Going to wear it 🎉It must be Love!Love Love.Well done lads on the new single❤
@@jasonjewell2493 I got a crombie for Christmas the following year, I didn't wear Ben Sherman's at that age, Fred Perry's were my thing at the time. I loved that 2 Tone image
@ady8084 very good times..every Saturday going down to Carnaby Street...or Camden town
👍❤👋🇩🇰
I can remember it like yesterday: October 1981, 18 years old, standing on the corner of Lake and Colorado in Pasadena, California. A girl from my radio communications class at the city college hands me her copy of the "One Step Beyond" vinyl album to borrow for the night. The direction of my life changed the first time I heard "Hey, you!"
PCC!
Around the time I saw The Specials at Perkins Palace!

I still have my album!!
Ska took off big time here in the UK late 60's on the Trojan label mainly because of the influence of black caribbean music on British culture taking hold because of the the children of the windrush generation. It died off and then came back again late 70's partly due to the release of 'Quarophenia' reviving the mod & skinhead culture. The 2 tone label created by the 'Specials' bought about many decent ska bands then including Madness. Their has been a cult following ever since and even some young people are still getting involved. Long live Ska!
C'est vraiment "la vie" d'être fan de Madness depuis 1979. 😊
Moi aussi, même année ! Like me, the same year! I love them
Complètement ! Vive la Folie ! Vive Madness !
New Madness in 2023/24?? Hell yeah, Bless 👏💖
The production quality on this album is absolutely amazing. From the content, to the mix itself, its just great. So awesome they have made a legit album after all these years.
Right? Some comments here saying it’s poor. Are they DEAF?
@@itookallthenames Guess they are just missing the autotune which is totally not present here.
It ain't no LONF, the album is on par with CTUN, which was ok, as this new album is.
I love the production. A lot of legacy artists really overcompress and auto tune things so they sound too modern. This actually reminds me a bit of great 90s records.
@@mrmagpiepromotions Yea this one just sounds fantastic.I have listened to a couple rounds of it, and maybe will again later today. :)
Absolutely brilliant. This isn't a bunch of old farts trying to recapture something that's long gone. From the first squeak of the saxophone to the last trill on the piano this is 100% authentic Madness and it couldn't be anyone else. Incredible that they've come back with a song totally on par with their original hits. And apparently the album is of the same quality. That means it is defo going on my wishlist.
As with Madness I have listened to music from other 80s artists non-stop for over 40 years. After 40 years of listening to Kraftwerk I made them the first (and so far only) band I saw in concert. It just ramped up my admiration even higher. It's been six years and I'm still buzzing from that experience. Of those bands I've seen on video they are mostly better than ever. I hope the stars align for me to be able to see other 80s bands before it's too late. Madness will definitely be on that list. Hope I catch them next year. We've only got two Beatles, one Monkee and one BeeGee left. Catch your heroes while you can. They won't be here forever.
Yeah its just like the Band Yello, when the creativity flows with this lot, it really flows, and its amazing how many good hits and songs there are in their library that alot didnt know about till youtube came about, as here in the states the only two songs most knew about were in my car and our house
then you start looking and find Michael Caine, Embarrasment, Shut Up and Night Boat to Cairo, which sounds like a movie plot lol
heck they ought see about doing a colab with those two, as they seem to share a love of just having fun
So heartwarming to see the band hit such a purple patch in this stage of their career. This is top drawer music- every song on the album a polished little gem.
🔥😎♥️🎵
So cool this stuff ah oui ;)
Lil gem of pleasure ❤
Got my dad tickets to see Madness last week, I was sort of a fan but not truly. Seeing them live, and honestly, especially their new music, I'm now a complete convert. This is the band of multiple generations.
Kraftwerk are the only band I've ever seen live and even after being a fan for 40 years seeing them live took me to another level. Even as a fan you don't always appreciate how good some of these bands really are until you see them live.
My son has done the same for me. I haven't seen them since Finsbury Park. He's as big a fan as me now
Never stop gentlemen…..from drawing the madness symbols on my school textbooks in 1979
Till forever……❤🇬🇧🙏🏻
They look and sound great...GenX folks, we're still here! 😛 It's a "real ska" banger! Smiled like a madman through the whole first listen, couldn't help it.
Madness-one of the GREAT things about England.
I listened to Madness 40 years ago. This new album has so many catchy tunes that seem timeless.
LONG LIVE MADNESS!
Madness is Madness, from the 1980s to Now 2024! Just love there music!
Will never forget the earth shaking, richter scale registering madfest at Finsbury Park and neither will Morrisey!
All my respect to the best Ska band in the world!
My band. Always and ever. First saw them aged 12 back in seventy nine. Last saw them a week ago aged 55. Like a fine wine ❤
Remember years ago hearing Suggs say ‘One day he realised Madness were created ‘to bring Happiness to the World’!
Not a bad Mission!
They definitely succeeded :)
An album that deserved to be number one in the charts. Our Boys are most definitely back......
Impressed 👍🇬🇧😉 just roll out the songs again Madness always have a style of their own ..you know when i look back I don't think there was any introduction to Madness..the songs just came ..Our House is now a sentimental song to me probably to many generations ..comedy and nostalgia rolled into one.
The show in Manchester (and all the others from the current tour, I presume) was mind-blowing. If there ever is an official complete recording of it to buy in physical or download, I absolutely want it.
Oh you heroes of my youth! I can still remember when we hopped around to One Step Beyond and the other songs. Today we are old and you are even older, so we just let the song work on us and forget about the hopping... our knees can't take it anymore! Great sound! 🙂
Hi Folks,
Madness is getting better and better with age. Like a fine wine it matures!!!
Hey you! Here's still the nutty sound of madness!
Wonderful to see the boys again. Grown out of the baggy trousers but still pay attention to their lyrics! They've got something to say, although part is like French to me.
These guys turned the whole world into the madness. Epic achievement!
They’re looking good, considering they were huge when I was a kid. And I’m in my 50s now.
They're always so watchable. Videos, live performances, they always make it hard to take your eyes off them.
"C'est la vie !" avec un super accent anglais 😉 continuez à nous faire dancer et longue vie à vous.
Been a lifelong madness fan and this trilogy is just brilliant
Baggy trousers, my school disco,i won and got a marathon bar, for my steps. VOIDRAKER SAY'S YES ❤❤❤
I love this song ❤️❤️❤️ Absolutely obsessed with these guys
The album is beautiful. I can't praise it enough.
The magic is still there
Madness are the absolute best
Very solid song . Great to see the band come back with such high quality.
Madness! Madness ! One step beyond was the first record my mother bought me. C'est le premier disque que m'a offert ma mère !! I love them, from France of 80's that's was another world. "Mais c'est la vie"
Nice to see we´re still living in a time full of madness
Best of the decade this album love it 👌
Grandpas of ska. 😎
wow just wow
Love it! I missed these guys
C’est la vie! And Madness still has the same best vibes!
Thank you, gentlemen. God bless.
Les tontons flingueurs du ska...
This saxophone sound is such a trademark!
c 'est la vie,,,,,,,, en ecoutant Madness 😍😍😍😍
LOVE IT!!
Magnificent band. Eternal brilliance.
Madness, You Rule! Greetings from Austria!
the drip, the vibe, the music itself. This is the type of stuff that got me into ska as a kid. Tip of the porkpie to these legends who can still make great music for so many years.
excellent!
Madness is like "fine" wine waaaaaaaaaay better with time 😊
Awesome!
Ben tornati👏👏👏👏🎼🎼🎼

Total Legends. Thanks for being apart of the soundtrack of my life. Cheers from Canada.
Don't know how I didn't see this until now... I'll be checking out your channel for more gems!
Still got it boys, lovely
Love this. Vintage Madness.
A very pleasant surprise from The Algorithm. In this era of rapid change and constant uncertainty, it's genuinely uplifting to see/hear that Madness is still the same as they were 45 years ago.
They've still got it!
yessssss
Oh yeah...two tone is back. The 2024 Wave
It's kinda like rap but w musical talent, intelligence, songwriting skills, and real lyrics. : )
Awesome...............
I am relatively a new fan of Madness approximately since 4 years ago. We are so lucky to find your new song, I will share this joy with my friends!
Thank you!
Many many many - many thanks fellas & all who made & continue to make Madness possible /*\ listening since 81 - , it continues to be a blessing my time in Buckinghamshire , though it certainly caused confusion in America when i'd bring back music that wasn't yet released in the US . Raspect
Love it.
WE ARE SO BACK
Браво!👏
Love it. Sound like Madness but fresh. Great.
Has Halloween vibes for me ...
This is a very exciting album. I cannot stop listening to it. Numerous tracks are fantastic. Cest la vie is great!!!!!!!
PLEASE do a show in Memphis TN!!!!!
Absolutely classic Madness tune, instantly recognizable, catchy, and a total earworm. Love it!❤
Superb back to their best as well produced album from a timeless band. You’re never too young for this.
❤️❤️love ❤️❤️love ❤️❤️
This track is an instant classic and love how Suggs gives a sly two fingers to the camera as he saunters on..... Brilliant!
The lads from Camden Town still have the magic!
Love it!
Great tune
Madness still got the right kind of madness. So good to have new music from these guys in my ear holes.
I love this! Such good memories of being a teenager in the 80’s.
Madness, Madness, they call it Madness.
You made my day and it is currently 6AM.
