    ABOUT TODAYS VIDEO:
    Manuka honey comes from Australia and New Zealand, from the nectar of the manuka tree (tea tree). Manuka honey makes an excellent topical antibiotic, something the traditional Maori culture of New Zealand had known and used for centuries.
    Honey has great antibiotic, anti-bacterial, antiseptic, antiviral and anti-microbial properties but with most of the choices you see on the supermarket shelves being pasteurized, it's important to avoid them and head for pure raw honey or manuka.
    Raw honey and manuka honey have all the therapeutic qualities we want with the highest concentration of anti-bacterial activity.
    What's the Benefit of Using Manuka Honey for Dogs Allergies?
    Manuka honey will enhance the natural healing processes taking place allowing the body to do its job, accelerating the healing process of minor burns or scalds especially if the honey is warm as this improves circulation.
    An added benefit is that your dog will enjoy licking the honey where it can continue its healing effects on improving digestion issues and allergies.
    How to Use Manuka Honey For Dogs?
    Apply directly to cuts and burns and the manuka will get to work healing the wound quickly.
    How Much Honey Can You Give a Dog?
    Manuka honey has also been effective in the post treatment of kennel cough. If your dog gets this hacking cough or catches a cold with streaming nose and cough, treat with:
    1/2 teaspoon for a small dog
    1 teaspoon for a medium dog
    2 teaspoons per day for a large dog until symptoms subside.
    Don't use for diabetic dogs as they should have zero sugars in their diet.
    Which choice of honey for dogs should you buy?
    The first, and most common, is the Unique Manuka Factor or UMF. UMF ratings range from a 5+ all the way to a 28+. A UMF factor of 10+ or more is regarded as a therapeutic honey.
    And I'll leave a link in the description above so you know exactly what to get.

    I haven't seen this anywhere so I'll put it here. Something has been making my dog very itchy, possibly grass, I keep her, her things and our tiny home as clean as possible so I was kind of stumped, I decided to bathe her with her regular shampoo then use raw honey as a conditioner even though I couldn't find any information on using it on a dogs full body, I rinsed her very well with warm water and she finally stopped itching, and is able to lay down and sleep.

      Honey (raw or manuka) has many abilities and in this instance has temporally soothed the dog and stopped the histamines making him itch.
      Another good option here is Oregano oil: amzn.to/3ulnF1T mixed with coconut oil and do the same actions. 2 drops oregano oil to 1 Tblesp coconut oil.
      You may need to do this once weekly through the season but will be cheaper than using honey each time.

    I’m an Aussie. Thank you so much for informative vid 😉🙏My little 15 year old Chihuahua cross Foxy gets back of the nose /throat infections every month. So he’s on antibiotics very often which I’m concerned about and he’s very expensive to go to the vet all the time. He is on heart tablets (Cardisure)and he has an enlarged liver . He hasn’t got many teeth left now after having to get most of them out , I have to steam diced chicken rice and veggies for him . Because any manufactured food makes him vomit. He’s also on Maxolon because he vomits anyway. I’ve been trying coconut oil to disinfect his mouth area I’m now going to mix it with manuka honey. Hoping that might be a help to ward off infection . Ps he’s also on a Cortisone inhaler for his cough and fluid drops ! Dear me 🤦‍♀️.

    Excuse me Dan is buckwheat honey safe for dogs? It’s cheaper and has more antioxidants then manuka

    • @DanScott1
      @DanScott1  4 місяці тому +1

      My scant research on this honey suggests: Buckwheat honey contained significantly more protein and more of many minerals compared to Manuka Honey, as well as containing more antioxidants. Both honeys show great abilities to restrict the growth of bacteria in lab conditions. However Buckwheat could fight some bacteria that Manuka could not.
      Sounds promising.

      It will help. If you can get Slippery Elm Bark Powder - amzn.to/3CbHXx0 that works great to coat the digestive system and bring down inflammation. Can you get some probiotics? They would also help. If not, use some fresh garlic, cut very fine and added to meals at 1 large clove 3x weekly for medium dog.
      Cut back on carbohydrates as much as possible. If feeding dry food take half out and replace with raw eggs, canned sardines in water, lots of veg part boiled and blended plus some meat proteins.
      Stop drugs and vaxx going forward.
      If you have neem trees there, get some bark, wash it, reduce to powder and add 1/2tsp 3x weekly to food.

    Dan Scott i must ask you a very important question?? Do you think this might help my dogs eye? It is very infected and i tryed everything i can think of... But i had come across this video saying that this honey could be put in some hot water and it could be use as eye drops

    • @DanScott1
      @DanScott1  4 роки тому +1

      Yes you could try it that way, won't harm and could work. Generally, it's advised to swab the closed eyelid and let the application soak in to effect healing.
      Also, have you tried Lavender? Great for healing quickly too. You mix just 10 drops of pure lavender oil into a cereal sized bowl of tepid water, agitate well and soak a cloth in the water, wring out excess and swab the closed eye being careful not to get the solution into the open eye. Repeat several times daily until infection has cleared.
      Another simple way if you have any coconut oil. Just melt the oil and swab over closed eye with cloth and repeat several times daily. Coconut oil is very anti everything infection.
      Hope that helps.

    • @DanScott1
      @DanScott1  4 роки тому +4

      Hi Mary, yes it's good and works but your dog may need something stronger. There's also silver solution which is the antibiotic used before Big pharma took over with their antibiotics. Use it topically on the skin condition and internally as an antibiotic.
      This silver solution is excellent: amzn.to/39i5mQW
      2 for 1 deal ATM. Silver's generally got really expensive with this virus situation but this one is great for the deal. Use it topically all over the problem areas and serve internally down the throat or add to food. You can clean the ears with it too.
      USE THIS instead of vet antibiotics... because it's the antibiotic of choice and you will see a difference in weeks.
      Meanwhile think about making the kibble diet a little healthier as it's the kibble on it's own that leads to yeast outbreaks. Get the free guide: healthydogforlife.com/guide it's a great start to making your dogs kibble meals healthier. All the best.

      This one from the video link is excellent, it's raw honey, has the same benefits as manuka but cheaper to buy: amzn.to/3H79rad
      Also: you'll want to upgrade the diet some to fix the underlying issues that cause this which is combination of too many carbs, additives and possible vet drugs. Give zero vaccines, vet drugs and cut the kibble in half and replace with fresh foods dogs need like eggs, canned sardines and part cooked and blended veggies at 10% of meal Volume. Plus add lots of antioxidants to help this situation: Green Immune + Super food - (GLM, phytoplankton, Microalgae and Spinach) : healthydogforlife.com/GreenImmuneSuperfood

    Hello Dan, my 13 year old poodle was recently in heat and just finished about a week ago. On Monday morning she woke up feeling ill which she was in a bed all day, shaking, not eating a lot, and just drinking liquids. These past two days she’s been walking around a bit and eating a little bit, but she still doesn’t seem to be her usual self and I’ve noticed she’s been struggling to poop also. I went to the vet and got her food to help with her digestive and the vet recommended a laxative to help her use the restroom. But last night we noticed that she started bleeding quite a bit from her vulva again. She was fine on Sunday and all of a sudden she woke up ill. Could it be something she ate? What would you think it is that’s making her feel ill? Could it be pyometra? Would you suggest giving her manuka honey to spot a difference? Please get back to me if you can. Thank you.

    • @DanScott1
      @DanScott1  2 роки тому +2

      I have no history to go on but maybe infection? Yes if you have manuka, give 1/2tsp twice daily.
      Pyometra usually comes 2 to 8 weeks after this. Any temperature? Keep me posted.
      Here's some information:
      The signs of open pyometra include:
      Any excessive licking after their heat cycle.
      Vaginal discharge (usually white, yellowish or green but it can also start off clear).
      The dog can seem a little “off” in behavior (if they are usually cuddly, they may become distant, or the opposite: becoming needy rather than their usual independent nature).
      They may be depressed, grumpy with other dogs or people, etc.
      They may drink more often than usual, or become lethargic or picky with their food.
      The signs of later stage or closed pyometra include:
      Lethargy/weakness
      Excessive panting
      Increased thirst and water craving
      Anorexia
      Disstention of the abdomen
      Vomiting
      Fever often 104 to 106
      BTW I do recommend some fresh food in the diet to boost health going forward. I think she could do with some nutrition help and get away from vet food. Will make a big and positive difference but right now your hands are full.

    Diabetes isn't caused by sugar but too much fat so please explain

    • @DanScott1
      @DanScott1  4 роки тому

      You may be confusing fat with the condition, pancreatitis. It's high sugar intake from kibbles, treats, refined carbohydrates etc that is the cause of diabetes.
      Anything carbohydrate that's highly processed ie not in it's whole form; say like comparing whole meal bread to white bread (whole meal bread digests slowly while white bread is turned to simple sugars fast, causing an insulin spike).
      Too much refined carbs and sugar over time leads to constant insulin spikes which eventually causes the pancreas to malfunction and/or the liver receptor sites to stop working (so insulin is either not produced by the pancreas or not recieved by the liver) leading to the condition of diabetes whereby bottled insulin is injected to balance the blood sugar levels.
      Hope that helps.
