Ah yes, the pastelmat paper has less of a tooth to it than the card. You may need to work in lighter layers, or, change the colour you are working on. I find if I chose a colour of card too far away from my subject, the card is harder to fully cover up and remain looking 'full' to the end of the drawing. I would also refrain from pressing too hard and smudging it, as this disrupts the tooth of the card and will make it harder to draw on. I hope this helps you!
I understand, in that case practice your pencil control and techniques with an ordinary pencil on plain paper. Getting better at drawing in general will go a long way!
So anything on pastelmat is not advised to be sprayed, I’ve not had trouble myself by following that advise. Between drawing and framing cover the painting with glassine paper 😊
almost forgot, that horse is BEAUTIFUL, EXTREMELY WELL DONE

It is a total God send! I couldn't work without it
Nothing compares to Pastel Mat I agree
can you air brush on pastel mat and paper?
Ooo I don't actually know, I've never tried!
It’s just to expensive as a beginner to simply practice on 😭
