Excellent in-depth analysis of both the Stabilio and Faber Castell pastel pencils. I’ve been using them both for several years and really appreciate your insight into all of the different attributes that go into pastel pencils, from their composition to light fastness to an often overlooked consideration of what types of surfaces they work best on. You’re obviously very knowledgeable and I like that you explained how each product can complement each other. I, too use the Carbothello’s for laying down larger areas and like to use the Pitt’s for detail work, as I do find them a bit harder and able to make finer marks with less effort. I would love to hear more about the pastels, especially regarding Pan Pastels working with these pencils and blending tones.
