    I have had the PCV plate and catch can installed on my RS for about 2 years now. I had no idea there was such a thing as a breather cap to release oil pressure in the crankcase. I went ahead and ordered one. I’ll see if that helps to relieve the oil pressure rise during hard acceleration and boost. Thanks for sharing that insight.

    It that an UPR crankcase breather. I order the suggested UPR-501302 from LMR and it is too big

      That’s weird. It is from UPR. It’s posted in the description 👍

      I just found out why the part does not fit… there are 2 stickers on the box that was sent to me. One has a generic sticker that says part 5013-02. But the other stick that is from UPR says 5013-01. Somebody screwed up at LMR

    Great video @Jared Kunnath. Your engine is same with my ford explorer 2.0 ecoboost. Very helpful on finding the ccv (by the way what does ccv means?) and pcv location. I installed a catch can in the valve located at the side of the fuel pump and turbo. Just want to ask if that valve is going out to the inlet of the catch can and the outlet of the catch can goes to the intake near the turbo?

      @JaredKunnath  2 роки тому +1

      Thank you so much! So PCV stands for positive crankcase ventilation and CCV stands for crank case ventilation. I actually took off the CCV catch can. That one went to the intake side of it if that answers your question

      @@JaredKunnath thanks for the immediate reply. By the way, why did you remove the ccv connect? Is it not effective?

    • @JaredKunnath

      @@triathleteover5030 of course haha and I did remove it. I ran it for a month and it collected nothing and I was reading the same thing online. Plus I have something coming for the car that’ll get in the way!

    Good deal. I installed the same setup minus the oil fill filter. The CCV never collects anything so would like to hear how yours does. Also the PCV can collects only a very little bit after 5k mi. Maybe that means the plate and valve are really working well. And opinion on the lack of a check valve. I know Rad says no need but their PCV valve leaked when i blew thru it. Yes they say it needs oil and high temps to seal but i have taken it apart to chk.

    • @JaredKunnath
      @JaredKunnath  2 роки тому

      Right on! Hopefully that plate does good work to prevent oil from collecting in the can. I did notice that the pcv can had some oil residue on the sides of it. It is tight, but I’m not sure why it’s doing that. Might be the same thing you’re talking about.

      @gbass7328 2 роки тому +1

      @@JaredKunnath I don't see any oil residue on my cans, I think they have an o-ring inside which should be in place. They have to be sealed due to the pressure the PCV sees from the manifold boost. Are you on focusrs.org the forum?

      @@gbass7328 I’m not a member but I do read a lot of the forums. They are super helpful. I agree with the pressure part but maybe the o ring isn’t sitting right.

    Ordering the upper CCV can soon for the ST. What lines went where on the upper Can (IN tube/OUT tube) if that matters? Gonna do that when I install my grimmspeed tray with PC680 Mini Race battery. Or maybe just wait to install IF I decide on pulling the trigger on an RS (I’m torn because I love my ST) did you order everything directly from radium?

    • @JaredKunnath
      @JaredKunnath  2 роки тому +1

      I actually took off the CCV catch can it goes to the intake side. It’s a bit expensive for the whole kit so many wait until you’re 100% about getting an RS. But yes, I ordered everything directly from radium! I want a mini race battery too but i daily mine (including winter) I’m afraid it would die if it got too cold haha
