You and so many other idiots keep saying this. They know that the cameras are in the building, it’s supposed to be staged as a contestant, trying to win a job or money, so they go into these businesses and participate. Part of participating is understanding what you’re in. I don’t know what you don’t fucking get about that.

Yup. I had a head manager who knew that another manager's pregnancy at the time was high risk. Instead of trying to accommodate her so that her fucking fetus wouldn't die, he purposely tried to make her life as difficult as he could, to the point where she just quit. Fortunately the baby is just fine and is now a happy, healthy toddler. Another coworker told the same dick manager that she thought she might be having a miscarriage and asked to go to the hospital. This evil motherfucker told her she needs a doctor's note first. To go to the hospital. No idea how that was supposed to work. So she had to finish her shift despite being in a ton of pain and distress. And that job did *not* pay well, so it's not like either of them could afford to sue.

I once worked for an idiot couple who had never owned a restaurant before but decided it would be a brilliant idea to buy one. They had a wing special that included 25 wings and a pitcher of beer, that was only $1 more than the price of 25 wings. I had a family of four with two small kids come in and ask if they could sub a pitcher of soda instead of beer, and I said yes. 1. Soda costs the restaurant WAY less than beer. 2. These parents didn’t want to get drunk then drive their kids home.
The owner saw me grab a pitcher and asked what it was for. I told her and she said “We don’t do substitutions.” She made me go back to the table and tell them if they wanted the special, they HAD to get beer. 🙄 The couple were not impressed and told me they would never come back, but they were still nice to me and gave me a decent tip.
The idiots who owned the place also employed their dumbass teenage son and his dumbass teenage friends to work in the kitchen. They were far more concerned with goofing around and playing on their phones than cooking food properly or expediting. Thousands of dollars worth of food was wasted every week because people would leave after waiting for over an hour for their food and we’d have to throw it away.
Unsurprisingly they went out of business. Good riddance, and fuck you, Sif!! 😂

I love when a business literally DESERVES to go belly up. I've seen a few of them in my life.
That being said, I remember when I was working at a Domino's Pizza in 2000-01, and when the head manager and one of the two assistants left, the surviving assistant eventually was bumped up to being store manager. She started acting like, not only she owned the store (she didn't), but didn't follow rules that has been previously established and no one ever said had changed, but when I followed those same rules, she got upset over it with me. This finally went as far as when one day we took an order from outside the delivery area, so I had the customer call the correct store and then cancelled it in our system. Well, on my day off she called me and left a message all pissed off at me. (The funny thing is, one of the things she kept doing was shaving hours off my schedule. Therefore, that morning I was at a 7-Eleven interviewing for a second job, so I had turned off my cell phone but forgot to turn it back on for quite a number of hours. That was when I discovered three messages; one from my mother, and two from the manager.) When I called to ask what it was NOW, she went off on me for not taking the delivery, and told me I was lucky she wasn't as lit up at that point as she was when she called. She had the nerve to go, "This is NOT (previous manager's name) corporate store, this is MY FRANCHISE store!" (Again, she didn't OWN said store, just ran it, like the previous manager did when it went from corporate to franchise.) I was just completely speechless...until I wasn't and I just went completely off on her and didn't shut up until I realized she had hung up on me. (You know, like the barrier holding back all I wanted to say finally just broke down under the weight.) I refused to ever return to that store, and eventually I told the franchisee what happened, and he agreed to move me to another store.

I had a boss once that wish wasn’t - I was an assistant manager and we were moving locations - she trained people and some of those people I recognized had some mental problems (a bit slower to learn but VERY capable of doing the job given a better training person) I recognize this because I am one of them. So she fired those people within three days - not even giving them a time to shine. She even did it to me - I am a merchandiser at heart and I know product placement. Ex. I put say a mug that had to deal with someone turning 50 along side some party items that we had (which also have some novelty gifts near it) I put it in a place as if I were shopping that I would find it. She yelled at me and said NO PUT IT IN THE TOP SHELF. (I am thinking to myself top shelf? That shelf is 7-8 feet high - who the hell shops up there?!) Normally that is where we store the over stock. She then took me to the office and said I can either transfer to another location or I would be fired. So I just left to go to the other location but left the company entirely 6 months later as I was tired of the abuse and the abuse not getting handled properly when I told the owner. I had other issue of physical abuse and verbal. I have tourettes as well and the other assistant manager kept telling me to stop my noises. Hell I would love to if I knew how. But anyways I am ranting.
