Gary, great information on the Tormek bar. I need to pick one up and get it working with my WS 3K as the bar that came with it just isn't high enough for certain kinds of tasks.
Have you seen the CBN disks newly available from Woodturners Wonders? I bought all three disks a couple months ago and really like them. I reshaped some carving chisels, some on sandpaper, others on the CBN. The CBN wheels were far faster and kept the tool steel much cooler; I did two chisels faster than one smaller one on sandpaper and they never got too hot to hold whereas the one on sandpaper I had to dip in water a few times so that I could hold it.
