The link to the "Video about WS3000 tips and tricks" is missing
I have checked out Wood Turners Wonders and they seem like a great supply resource. Can you give me the link to the family owned company you have referred to in the past that you get you lathe turning tools from?

I loved the old stumpy nubs videos, the layout and cut scenes and the HUMOR! Not to forget the old timey workshop
Never thought I would watch an old UA-cam video and become nostalgic!
Vintage Stumpy! Love the old vids.
The humor in the fun ones is what got my watching more back in the day.
James - As a Work Sharp owner and user, THANK YOU for this! 👍🏼
I built this a year ago and love it! I also added a set of CBN wheels. Works well in tandem with the MDF buffing compound wheels.
I have nothing to say really, but I appreciate your content, and wish to help with the yt-algorithms.
As do i
How very brave of you to re-highlight the old footage. I have none of those tools, but I still enjoyed it.
Thanks for the great info on the Worksharp 3000. And an even bigger thanks for your Stumpy's Evening Advice at the end. Looking to viewing more of your videos. Cheers.
I bought my 3000 this past winter before knowing the table and bar were discontinued. I am thankful for this update. I saw the original before I purchased, but now I know that I will be building the updated box/table this weekend.
Good luck with the humidity question, and by the way, congratulations on all the continued success. You’ve earned it.
One last thing:
I have a peripheral tremor too, and I also walk like I’m hammered drunk from the same neurological issue that causes my tremors. I applaud you for facing the critics head on in a video years ago. I felt like I was hearing my own experiences when I watched that. Thank you for being so transparent and uncompromising. Keep kicking ass and not giving any F’s about going against the grain when your opinions differ from the masses. We appreciate your honesty and respect you for all that you put in to building your Empire upon the Stump
Thank you again James as always,
-Castor
After watching this over and over I designed a small file for my CNC that cut out 9 discs for the workshop. Worked awesome!!!
I built one of these from your plans a couple years ago. Turned out great!
Yup! Made all those things for my worksharp. Kinda moving toward the Tormek these days. Great to see the development over time of this most interesting and useful project, thanks.
I just started looking up info on the Worksharp3000 2 weeks ago thank you for the additional info!
James, you are a treasure to this craft.
I go back to those old video when miss watching them.
Thank you for this, James! The WorkSharp cabinet was one of the first UA-cams that got me into this awful habit. ;). FYI: The CBN wheels for WorkSharp are awesome! I haven’t used sandpaper or MDF in aaaaages. And the tools seem to get a better edge. The heat dissipation on the large metal plate really is a bonus. Thanks again, James, for all the great videos and entertainment.
I love the flash back to the old BCWW. Made a version of this myself that has served me well for years.
Dang. UA-cam won’t let me post a picture of mine.
How timely! I just bought a WS3000 for flattening backs. Very useful.
Great video. The MK II power sharpening system has a bar and a means to hold any size blade at a specific angle. It works great for maintaining a flat grind on your edge tools.
I miss those old vids. They were so informative.
Great video, lots of info, and help to better use the tool.
I was so disgusted with my ws3000. It went under one of my benches and stayed there for the past few years. I'm going to give it some serious thought about digging it out and trying your solution. You are one very smart cookie.
I bought two WS2000's on closeout when they discontinued that model with the intention to build a dual WS2000 version of your cabinet. I really need to get around to building this setup and consider the CBN disks.
Amazing video!
Could you by any chance do a "tolerances" video from an experienced woodworker perspective? I mean how much to leave between doors and drawers, what are the best practices of measuring and cutting and stuff like that.
I caught your recent video explaining why some videos were going away. In it you reference you quirky sense of humor. Thanks for leaving those bits in the old video, they were pretty good. And informative. I knew I'd heard the names Wilbur and Orville before, just couldn't remember where. Popcorn and bicycles, duh.
I miss the old Stumpy Nubs videos. Always made me laugh!
When i saw this , a few years back , i desided to buy the CBN wheels first . After i completly forgot about your plans loll But now i just bought them and they came at a perfict timing 👍🏼 I was building , trying lol , and was wondering where i saw the plans . But a week after ther you are making a video of the ws3000 ! Trust me i jumped on the plans ASAP lolll
Good video James. Thanks for sharing with us. Fred.🙏🏻🙏🏻👍👍👏🏻👏🏻👋👋
Thank you for providing this video for it answers my question about the plate. I have reached out to the manufacture and may let them know that I will not purchase this due to the elimination of the platform. However, I may still get it and build the platform you created. Thanks again.
I'm glad I bought the Worksharp, based on your recommendation! I'm a professional carpenter and a very amateur woodworker, so I'm using it to restore my beat up carpentry chisels and low-angle block plane which can then be tuned up on the job. It's already paid for itself. So, thanks for another very useful tip😊. However, that bar isn't that great so I'll have to use your idea about adding a platform. I should have thought of that.
@@D-Vinko thanks 😊
Haven't touched my Worksharp in years ... for me it was pretty much a waste on money. Thanks to your video, I'm going to get it out of storage and see if I can make some use of it!
This is the best!!! Throwing in that "throwback" video clip is awesome. I really like the applause at the end of your "older" videos, why did you stop incorporating that into your videos? I vote you bring it back, it would a representation of the thousands of us that are applauding at the end of your videos. C'mon y 'all, hit that 👍 on this comment so that Mr. Nubs here can put that back in there. I already know about the "cold one" and why it's no longer art of your close, I saw that video but I've never heard you comment about the applause and I've always wondered. Take care and have a good one, Adios! 🖐
Wait..... That old video was 10 years ago, dang that went quick.
I don't own one of these, but I enjoyed the video. I really liked the old fireside type mail call.
Love the old show!
Wonder if they had to drop the Tormek attachment because of patent infringement. Really cool solution vid for those who have one of these Thank you again! It's like chatting with an old woodworking friend.
It sure seems like one should be able to build one with simple metal shop tools.
the puns of the early video are gold. I recommend them very much
Awesome!!! I Have One Of Those!!! Thank You!!! Much Appreciated!!!! 👊👍😎🤔
That took me back, like a time travelling machine
Have a cold one, you deserve it!!!it was very enjoying!!
Hmmm... That tool looks strikingly similar to the bench grinder people make out of old computer's HDs... Interesting! 🤔
Maybe I try to make one. Seems useful! 😬
Thanks for all the tips, James! 😊
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
mail call left me laughing, glad we had Orville and drywall screws
Just wanted to say thanks for another great video.I dont need/have/want this sharpener, but I watched the video any way. Why? Because i figured you would say or show something that I could use or need.I always find your videos informative & entertaining to watch. Oh BTW 1st video I've seen w/o that Redwings koozie. Go Pens!
Thanks
LOL great video, but I just have to chuckle on how much better your videos have gotten. Is it me or did you base that last part on Grandpa from Hee Haw..
thanks
I did my universal bar with micro adjustment nut. In total it cost me around 4€ instead of 80€ for the original tormek universal bar. Other than that, very interesting video.
I use the side of the Tormek wheel for some flattening tasks. Probably not recommended but it works.
That's recommended by Tormek, and it works. But I find that one task is easier for me on the Worksharp
@@StumpyNubs Since I don't have a Worksharp ... 😀
I love how you have an insulated cup In a coozy lol... Overkill? No, just extra insurance against thermodynamics
You didn't discuss using the sharpening port (the chisel platform underneath) for plane irons, but the online listing (Rockler) says it should work for irons up to 2" wide. Any reason to shy away from that?
Woah, flash-back!
Just missing the squiggly transitional effect. 🤔
I'd live to get CBN wheels for my sharpening systems. Are they okay/made for wet wheel solutions? I have an older wet wheel polisher that has an off size wheel and would love to replace the worn wheel, but can't even find an alum-ox or ruby wheel for it anywhere (or any other standard grinding wheel medium). I don't have the specs handy at the monent but if memory serves, it has a 1/2 inch drive center and 5 1/4 OD with a width of 2 1/4 when new. Wet bath slow speed electric belt driven grinder/polisher cir. 1950s. Plastic housing, buy I can't even find this machine or anything about it online anywhere.
Sorry to bug you. Is that dog kennel end table going to get a plan? I checked the site but don’t see it. You had a video about how you did the spindles with spacers. Thank you.
I miss the old intro music
There is only one downside I discovered with the excellent platform/cabinet you designed and I built from your plans. With the cabinet, it is difficult to see the displayed angle of the worksharp angled tool rest. I have to pull out a dental mirror to see it. Have you a solution or work-around?
How about building it mirror imaged? IE - with the tool on the right side, not the left?
I count the notches; 35, 30, 25, 20
I see the same pencil in every one of your videos. What is it and do u recommend?
amzn.to/37P2GcY
Does this mean you are going to finish the tool cabinet?
I'm going to buy one of their large blade Platforms from some place that has one left in stock and duplicate the design and machine it and sell it myself since they won't.
The Achilles Heel of the Worksharp, the fundamental flaw of the entire concept, is the fact that the cutting speed - the material removal rate - is faster as you move away from the center of the disk. It's a show-stopper. I too have one that's been collecting dust for years. Other methods are simpler, faster, more accurate, and give better results.
Don't get me wrong here - I'm all for using the getting the best possible results from the equipment you have. But if you're just getting started, Worksharp is neither the place to begin, or the place to end up.
I wanted to ask how your hand was doing. Hubby was involved in a motorbike accident and damaged his hand and arm (he was lucky, he could have lost them). Since then, he has struggled with some aspects of DIY, particularly where power tools or vibration are concerned.
Do you have any hints or tips, or is “slow and steady wins the race” the best way to be. He gets a mite annoyed at himself. It would be good to hear that he isn’t alone in his struggles, if any of your viewers would like to comment.
After a year my most injured finger was back to about 90 percent. I still can't fully bend it, and it hurts a little bit a lot of the time, but it's much, much better than it was.
Alright, you have to bring back the shop dogs.
You mention in your plans that "Worksharp now makes a bar accessory that is compatible with Tormek jigs"---but the link does not take you to that bar accessory.
They do not make it anymore. But you can rig something up with a piece of 12mm bar stock.
♥️
hilarious. NUbz i think you were funnier and thinner back then. you got to get some better writers for your material its been lacking lately but these old ones are freaking hilariousssssss
Your my boy blue
I was going to buy one of these sharpeners until I found out the tabletop parts were no longer made.
CBN link doesn’t work
Fixed
Had I realized they'd removed/discontinued that feature, I'd have never bought one. As it is, I'm pretty sure mine's going back. I'm so sick of this shit.
What is the handheld sharpening jig you use
Remember watching the original.
Well, it was either the quality of audio wayyyyyy back then or you have a really nasally whiny voice!! Just kidding. great info and thanks
Stumpy, the man who made Work Sharp go bankrupt.
I wouldn't have ever heard of them if not for Mr. Nubs
LOL, I am sure I sold many hundreds of units for them from past videos. And they were never a sponsor, either :)
I’m in disbelief they discontinued those accessories.
:D
First??
I wish I'd have seen this video before my wife bought me a 3000 for xmas. I've tried using it with that inadequate bar that comes with it now but in my opinion without the original table and jig the thing is useless. Major ZERO for Worksharp. I'll be using your plans to try and turn it into a useable tool as I have a lot of old chisels and plane irons to work on. Thanks for this video.
