That advertisement transistion was very smooth... Just like my shaving experience with Harry's!
Lol
Lmao
Why must u curse us
A few ideas :
*Small glass vials (from food flavoring or perfume samples) make for excellent mini-containers. Unlike the straws, they can be opened and closed repeatedly.
*Vitamins may help wound healing, but in an emergency the most immediate hazard is infection - replace them with alcohol, betadine and antibiotic powder (in glass vials).
*Mini lighters are small enough to fit the pill bottle and aren't ruined when wet like matches. One will last for hundreds of uses.
*Needles and fishing hooks are useful in a wild survival context, but smaller ones than those used in the video. Take 2-3 of each, they don't take much space and are easy to lose or break.
*Use a bright color tape - cammo on the bottle means you'll lose it easily in the bush.
*You can skip the lead weights - just use a small pebble attached to the line with tape (I've done that, less than ideal but workable).
*CD mirror is ok, but aluminum foil will pack tighter and can be shaped either flat for signals or curved for other uses.
*Maybe some tweezers - small and useful (for example - extracting splinters to prevent infections).
*LED lights - there are some very small used on keychains. Good for signals and finding you way in the dark.
DANG IT I NEED MORE SPACE FOR MY FLAT SCREEN TV
thats funny
lol
Hey your lucky I can't fit house or dog or desktop or me
Videogamehero67
I need space for my car.
"And you can buy this kit on my web site for just 10 dollars!"
+egold555 On your site? You can? That's way overpriced.
+kipkay it's a joke. You're always like you can buy the parts for cheaper on my site. So I was making a joke that you can buy this kit for $10 on your site.
10$ i can make it for free at my house way too much money bud
+MrBenjv read the comment above. It was a joke
+egold555 "you can also get a 50% discount for entering 'kipkay' at checkout!
you could glue the striker to the inside of the lid to keep from damaging it and giving it a safe way to hold it
Good idea sir, u have my respect
The only thing is it would be very tough to strike it.
The only thing is it would be very tough to strike it because of the sides of the lid
+Gay4raywj cut out two slits on both sides. the cap would still screw on
then again, water might get in
Good idea. I love compact survival kits. A few suggestions from my own experience:
Instead of sealing the open end, leave it about a 1/2" longer. After filling the tube, fold over the end, then crimp the end in the middle (vertically) and fold again. Cut a 1/4" long section of another straw and slip it over the crimped end. That will seal it but allow you to open it without cutting (in case you have no blade), and allow you to reseal it afterward.
Magnetize the needle by rubbing it across a magnet. Then you can use it as an improvised compass by slipping it through a small leaf and floating it on a small puddle. The needle will point North (verify it with a real compass to make sure which end is which - and mark it with a Sharpie). Instead of thread, pre-thread the needle (especially handy if you have poor vision or it is dark) with dental floss. It's stronger, and can be used to bind a shelter, small tools, arrow fletching, etc. (And you can sew with it)
A plain condom works as a water bag, but so do supermarket produce bags. A bag can be folded and rolled up tightly and stored inside a slit straw section. A square foot of aluminum foil is handy as a reflective signal mirror, solar concentrator (for fire-starting), and can be formed into a cup for water, among other things.
Also, dab a bit of Vaseline into the cotton wadding, it will catch a spark better.
I never thought of condoms to carry water. That is genius!!!!! Also I like tampons and Vaseline in an emergency kit and should fit in a pill bottle. The ones with plastic applicators can be makeshift life straws and using some of the fill with Vaseline is a good firestarter.
Thanks a lot dude
@@ginamoore66 I'd be leery of using a tampon as a filter, since it won't filter out many organisms. But in a life-threatening situation, take your chances, You might get a cure after rescue.
All you really need is a deck of cards. Sit down and start playing solitaire, pretty soon someone will come up and tell you what cards to play.
All you need is a smartphone, just start recording vertical and wait until someone comes and tells you that wrong.
On
Lost in forest? No problem, just shave. Shave away all those feelings of fear WITH MY HERRY'S RAZOR!
harry's
i did it on purpose u newb
Nice
+GamerGab007 No, no you didn't. You nub nub sandwich.
+GamerGab007 I will take your argument seriously the moment you take it seriously enough to express it with proper spelling and grammar.
flint and steel would be a good addition too
+William Jakespeare I would consider it a critical addition
+William Jakespeare
definitely
+William Jakespeare OMG Whilliam i love ur vids man! Keep up the good work!
+Ani Guy Hey thanks, will do, I've got some cool videos coming up!
+William Jakespeare He did put in the lighter / matches
what about water purifying tablets ???
Good idea
Something else you can do is glue a compass to the lit.
Good idea
Yes the lit 😂😂😂😂😂
IT IS CALLED A LID
ik I was joking
Daith778
I find it very weird that Harry's blades are manufactured in Germany but don't ship to EU...
+Edvahkiin Thing is, it could be much more expensive to ship locally, one of the reasons that China manufactures everything.
It said engineered in get that means that they could still be manufactured in china
AceandDuce That's not what their webpage says.
'Altoid tin' survival kits are probably better. I've managed to get a knife, flit and steel, can opener, an aluminum carabiner, safety pins, 50 yds of thread, ten feet of fishing line, needles, bandaids, and alcohol wipes in it without over stuffing it and it's kept closed in my backpack with four ranger bands I made myself. They're sturdier and hold more things without taking more room than a wallet so the fit into pockets better than pill bottles.
I would need space to put my playstation 4
+Jason Yuschak + Where would plug it in?
Jim Foreman hahahah True
+Jim Foreman wire it to a solar panel along with a tv. bam.
+Narly_Blue I don't think a solar panel could power a tv and a ps4. XD
Get a GameCase
Why would you put camouflage tape on it? Isn't that kind of counter-intuitive?
So it doesn't hest up
I don t know why he put that tape but his main point is to have duct tape without taking a roll
How's it counter intuitive? Duct Tape is amazing for every thing
+Ajslicer If you accidentally drop it on the ground at night it would be less visible and harder to find due to it being camouflage. I bright neon tape would have made more sense. I understand this was just for demonstration purposes.
+Evansmustard He wrapped it in duct tape so he can take it off and use it for something else.
I would say water purification tablets would be essential in a survival kit that small, great idea with the duck tape on the outside though
Put those pills in a straw too so they wont get contaminated by the slip shot lead sinkers or draw moisture. You can get straws that are 1/2" across, allowing much more room for items. I would cut some of the straws to the length of the bottle. Pack efficiently. Even fishing kits can be out in straws. Smaller Bic lighters would fit perfect in this kit. Two or three methods of making fire is better than one. You could make several of these kits and keep some in vehicles, backpacks, etc. Plus, by making them yourself you you can tailor them to your own personal needs.
Totally had the same thought when he dropped the pills in with the weights. 😂
I dunno if I would waste room with vitamins... I mean, vitamin deficiency will not be an issue if you get lost for a couple of days
If you have a wound, either ingesting or making a vitamin paste to put on wounds can both help the body felicitate faster healing and make wounds less likely to get infected, which is the last thing you want even if you are lost a few days.
you could get some vitamin-based supplement designed for wound healing, like InflammEnz
+Guilherme C. Vitamin E comes in gel capsules which is a lot smarter in this situation instead of those big ass packets
+schramschram gel caps melt when they get to hot (thinkng desert 110 degrees .) Also, if you make a kit like that at sea level and then go up to, oh say Big Bear Lake CA (7900 ft - or + ) the gel cap pops from the pressure change. And Big Bear isn't even that high.
+John Miranda HOW HIGH IS IT!?!?XD
A simple, impressive, and useful idea using dollar store supplies.
I'm kicking myself for not thinking of it sooner
longest ever shaving nrszor commercial
to the people going on about the lead weights and the pill,
the amount of lead absorbed by the pills would be negligible. you could probably swallow the lead weights themselves and pass them before any true lead poisoning set in.
remember, people used to ingest lead/mercury/etc. all the time medicinally. most paint was lead based, and many metals used to make pretty much everything we needed contained lead as well. it usually took years for exposure to THAT much lead to produce symptoms and negative effects.
lead poisoning takes place over a long period of exposure. those two pills he put in are not going to be enough to do any damage.
besides, if you are resorting to using this little pill bottle kit, odds are you are in a pretty bad situation.
a one time minuscule dose of lead is going to be the absolute least of your worries.
+Ty Guy No my whole family died of lead poison and my friends dogs too all because a pencil fell into the river by our village!!!
All that reading gave me a headache
+ButterSquids Lol, Dude, he was joking.
Zack Kap lololololololololo lo o lol lo
@@buttersquids that was called sarcasm.
i would have wrapped 550 around it like a simple lighter wrap. always good videos kipkay i love it
Hey! I love this video! Thanks for all the cool stuff you post! If you take an 11" or 12" square piece of heavy aluminum foil and fold it up, you have a way to boil water or cook with.
Great little kit suggestions. I would suggest using a straw as a protective cover for your candle because they tend to either melt or break easily. Also, the joke candles that can't be blown out are excellent fire starter helpers.
The trick candle idea...brilliant, I am stone cold impressed!!!
small compass glued to the underside of lid, peanut lighter or small flint, some smaller hooks and 5 powerbaits sealed in another straw, alcohol swabs, small crazy-glue, bandaids and some antibiotics, 12' of dental floss and the head of a toothbrush.
The dental floss can be used for thread or fishing line too.
I pre thread my needles..easier under all conditions
Thanks for telling us that you could put things inside of other things.
Revolutionary.
Also, pop tarts are delicious, so I placed some crumbs from a cherry one I had for breakfast the other day. Now all we need is a gum wrapper and a link from an old bicycle chain and our survival pill bottle will be good to go.
OMG guys that straw trick would be a nifty way to package cocaine.
+cemwind XD
Yeah but if it wasn't sealed completely it would dump it out, that would be horrific
I am Craig Grant's bitcoin wallet nooooooo
lmao all the drug dealers taking notes
Well you can tell he's not a survival expert.
+Noah Wheatley What would you have put in the pill bottle?
+Bogastus deez nutz
+Detective Crusader I would put there tank in there. You never know, right?
+Detective Crusader Ow.
+poplmon The T-Virus vaccine
Stuff that would be useful too:
1) 9V Battery and steel wool (to start a fire)
2) led diodes and 3v button cell
3) power bank
4) solar-charging led light (charge in day and use as night light)
5) knife
6) scissors
7)Sugru (seems stupid but it could be useful sometimes)
8)baking soda (in the straw container - to mix with water, acts an antacid)
9) coke can and tealight (you can make a light reflector which will make light go only where you need it)
10) rubber bands (they got lots of uses, and you can make a slingshot too, maybe it could save your life throwing led throwies in the air at night someone can notice of you)
Have another suggestion for this kit: regular aspirin (good for pain relief; but also good to chew one if you think you are having a heart attack)
Put some super glue (cyanoacrylate) in a straw container as it would be much better for sealing wounds than sutures.
+tobortine Depends how big the wound is I suppose.
*****
I don't know. I guess if it's really deep and you're having to pull muscle together then maybe sutures would work better. But if it's that bad you're probably screwed whatever you have short of an ER.
+tobortine Would the glue not begin to set once it comes in contact with air though? I imagine it would become a rock by the time you go to use it.
Mike C
Maybe. What I'd envisaged was one of the little straw containers filled to the brim and sealed down quickly to prevent it setting. But I've not tried it, maybe it would set before you'd get time to seal it.
+theredscourge cyanoacrylate was invented in world war 2 for use in making gun sights but it was realized it could be used to hold wounds together in battlefield situations, apparently first done in Vietnam in 1966. I think the idea was to staunch bleeding until the soldier could get proper medical treatment away from the fighting.
Lol nice advertisement so smooth, so smooth haha
Nice setup in such a small holder
Louis likes this video, he says that it's better than a normal bottle of "PILLS HERE!"
Fill that bottle with good weed and I'll be happy
Gets arrested by bear
+fernando18455 lol
+Stewart Griffin same here.
I would toss in some folded up foil, about 5 grams on black tar heroin to go with the tin foi incase of any major injury that Tylenol couldn't handle, or use it if I can't sleeping head aches, or once in a while to take the edge off and ease the mind. Flint, some weed,
Lol best idea
Wow Kipkay, you're actually getting good at sneaking those ads in
Wow Kip, I can't believe you're still making videos. I remember watching your videos when I was in 7th grade and had just gotten my first laptop. Now I'm a sophomore in college and saw this video on the suggested videos section. Keep up the good work!
This helped me save so much money thanks kipkay
That product placement at the end :D
hahaha! ikr?
+Crow Films videos
he could work at mcdonalds
I love how the end turned into an advertisement
haha, ikr😂
Same
Add some water purification tablets or drops. The bottle can be temporarily used as a mini cup to fill up with river or stream water to put the purification in.
i added a lot of extras, thanks for the tutorial!
Things to add: Customized GCN controller, Orange GCN, Super Mario Sunshine, Generator
You're gonna need a tv and melee
What about wind waker I say it's better then both
What about all three?
this saved my lufe i had a big hole imy chest and i just shoved the oull bottle in.
lol
Always, ALWAYS put more than one fire starting device in your kit. Matches run out and lighters break or don't work in the cold. I recommend putting in a ferrocerium rod fr good, hot sparks.
This kinda just hits the basics, but it makes excellent short term first-aid. I live in Kansas, and this would definitely go great in our tornado emergency kit.
add a small knife and maybe some water purf. tablets and your gtg :)
I don't think those fishing weights should have been dropped in with the ibuprofen pills like that along with rubbing up against them and the needle.. Those weights are lead ;)
this is really good! I'm impressed
Free Car Kit! (Note: Must have all the parts required laying around somewhere.)
You're going to start a fire with a piece of a CD ?
Not bloody likely
I doubt all of that would only cost a dollar.
I made these in Altoids tins like 3 months ago. Straws and all. I love these kits!!
Very cool! Thanks KipKay.
Nah m9, ill just stick to my bug out bag
Yeah, a backpack can carry a lot more than a pill bottle. Hell, you could put the bottle in the bug out bag
+William Godwin well the pill bottle can save space u know
+Pepe The Frog shut up, meg
"m9"
+יותם ענבר good one m9
Hey man, im starting to like your video again
I have several medication bottles loaded with stuff. One of them has cotton balls with vaseline in them to start fires. another one with hooks and fishing line. one with matches. I even made a small spice kit from smaller ones (salt, pepper, cayenne pepper, ect)
kipkay,
You are the Chef John of DIY Survival.
4:02 "and if your container is small enough you can put a candle in there" What?
Tall lol
THATS A RECTANGLE I'M TRIGGERED!!!
Thank you. This saved my life.
Cool kit! You can also roll the matches in melted wax from a candle to give them basic waterproofing, or just the heads for water resistance. I love your channel, keep it coming!
I'd add SUGRU
sugru doesn't last that long, even less long in your car.
+Mackan90096 Nice way to get a sponsor in there
Really? You put in fishing weights but no water purification tablets or special folded blanket thingy?
The survival blanket would be to big for the bottle
Also, I was thinking you could drill out the centre of the lid and glue or silicone in a magnifier glass IF you found one about that size... All the best KipKay
dude this is awesome im so doing that kit
In a real survival situation that very large fish hook with only a small amount of hand fishing line is not going to do much good , your most likely to encounter small fish so pan fish hooks would be the wiser choice.
Smaller hooks than those would be pointless, the space you save in nearly none.
+Gay4raywj It's not about saving space. Smaller hooks exist and are used for other reasons. Small fish won't take that big hook, and big fish are rare and hard to catch without some extra equipment (like a lot more line and specialized bait).
I would put my phone charger and some earbuds in it :)
If you do kinda sad it's a survival kit.
Yeah, just plug it into a tree
+Ryan Robo We got portable chargers/backup batteries.
MysticTech You're what's wrong with kids these days.
Kinda smart if you have data on your phone and can find a place with bars. Can call for help, use flash light if you no have one, if it has survival notes on it. But yes you need back up battery's and charging station.
Not even mad about that product placement, so smooth.
Awesome, it would come in handy the pill bottle 👍🏼👍🏼
l'll even put a small magnifying glass in it
put gasoline in one of those straws. could be helpful.
Tom Stoughton How?
Really?
sorry, i wasnt thinking lol i was tired
how are you gonna close the straw again?
Exactly. i was trolling. i thought it was funny.
when u realize its actually one very long ad. lmao
really like that straw idea. also like the Popsicle stick idea.
I would put a small pocket knife in there
Same
I would tape my bone handled knife to the side
Yeah a tiny Swiss army knife or multi tool would have more uses than the razor blade
Now you can just put that in your pocket right
How about water
The way he says "in a survival situation" is so satisfiying
thank you this helps me a lot
1rd
firrd?
+Plex I read this as "word".
I didnt notice
Fird?
+Plex 1nd*
Where is the condom?
He's already wearing it.
+Detective Crusader Lol
+Detective Crusader BRUH xD
Infinite loop no he has a good point
Fill it with dirty water plop a water purification tablet in it and then you got clean water
Infinite loop 😂
Iodine, for water treatment, and use bright orange duct tape! You don't want to loose that bottle with its camo tape. And a flint and steel can go a long way.
you can also glue the cd mirror on top of the pill botel for easy aces
0:58 cocain?
almost ad free :(
i also put some popcorn kernels to some of the spots that has spaces so that i can eat
when it comes to a survival kit I go crazy preparing
Cool...Maybe glue the mirror to inside of lid...Add a straw of super glue.
The super glue will dry
a small tube of superglue will fit though.
can you hide weed in it?
No
+Joseph Kudia damn
You can do anything if you belive
asking the real questions
+Roderich Edelstein Yes, according to the thumbnail, but don't take it through Airport Security
The shaving commercial has got to be one of the most hilarious non-sequiturs ever.
I would put some tie-wraps in your kit. They are always handy
I like how the LEAD fishing weights are dropped in loosely with the pills. The end of the world comes you get to have a Roman LEAD poison moment. lol
Custom kit, very nice.
woa he makes it so simple it's like he can find an idea to put his house in that pill bottle
im proud of how you eased that advertisement in this video very smoothly
crush up some ibuprofen and put that in the straws. like two per straw so you know the dosage
Well Kip i would add ranger bands to the outside , ranger bands are slices of bicycle inner tube which can be used for fire lighting as well as many other things as securing a key chain ring and a clip to secure the whole thing to your belt loop . And a small ferro rod which can be struck with the side of the safety razor .
Awesome video KipKay
This video reminds me of that Scene in ToyStory2 when Ms.Potato putting stuff in Mr.Potato LOL .... I like the video it's helpful
