These are so cute. I have some large clam shells that I really didn't know what to do with and now I do. These would be so cute as Christmas tree ornaments for a beach house. Thanks so much for the idea. Love them and Thank You for sharing with us.
Hi I love love these… I have a couple of questions. First you did not put resin on the sand will it not peel or chip off?. I didn’t see you mix any resin, did you mix Part 1 resin and part 2 hardener equal amounts ?. I’m totally new to resin. One more thing if I wanted to put resin on the sand would that work?. I have watched about 5 videos but they never start at the actual beginning, everything is already mixed up. Yours is the most in depth I’ve seen. Thank you so much. I live in Florida and a friend owns a boutique and asked me to do these in a clam shell. Lol, I said no problem 😳😳😳 I’ve never touched any of this as I normally do painting. Fake it till you make it , right??. Lol. Thank you so much for your valuable time. ❤️❤️❤️🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋
Thank you so much. The resin I use is a 1:1 ratio. The little sandy beach is mixed with Elmers Glue All (to a thick paste consistency) left to completely dry. Then. The resin is added on top. It’s solid and won’t peel. Thanks for watching 🌸
@@JulesMadisonArtByDesign I love watching your videos. I'm trying to work up the courage to work with the resin. After all I've purchased everything I would need. . I would like to work with resin, but I'm scared. I wish. I had a video. Perhaps when you can put one out there. Where you mix the resin, let's add the colors,. Let's do a pour. Way, I have everything I need to do. I'm just so afraid to pull the trigger ☺️. I love watching what you do. You are awesome! I would love it if you would see the video. From beginning to end for people that have never done it. So that we can all Dive in. Either way, I know you must be busy. Thank you so much. You are a living doll ❤️.
These are so cute! I love the way you use the clear resin, that’s a great tip! Great minds think alike because I’m currently working on a nautical themed video too! You are so lucky to live by the beach Jules. Looking forward to seeing your magnetic 🧲 piece, funnily enough, I have one coming up too! ;)
All four shells are lovely. You were talking about being by a beach, where do you live? I live a beach too. I am in Palm Coast Florida, it is on the east side. Thanks for sharing.

Hi. I love these. Given me inspiration 🥰 May I just ask one question. I’ve been using resin for a few weeks now. Little projects. Spent a small fortune 🙄. Now it appears I’m allergic. Rash and itching all over face and hands. I notice you only wear gloves part of the time. Does it only affect certain people? 😢
amandainspain This is one of my earlier videos. I wear gloves (sometimes 2 pairs at once). I wear a respirator when mixing the resin for sure. Perhaps wear a long sleeve shirt that you can just use as your art shirt. Also maybe try a different resin. Good luck 🌸
Thank you for this tutorial-appreciate you creating it. I have two questions. You used Daler-Rowney FW inks with the resin right? Those are acrylic inks not alcohol inks correct? My second question is how did you use the heat gun? It was basically cut from the video but I think it was used to create the white waves/whitecaps. Is that correct? Thanks.
Janelle Espinoza yes you’re right - acrylic inks. At around 22:00 I add the white ink for surf and it’s the only time I used the heat gun (it’s a great blender). The rest of the time I used my torch for bubbles. Hope this helps 🌸
No resin is a combination of 2 parts - the resin and the hardener. you can color it with whatever you choose, but only a small amount or the mixed resin will not set. Thanks for watching 🌸

Cathy holmes no. Alcohol ink.
@@cyhomer It is.. 15.44: White for the waves.. "light body opaque acrylic by Jacquard'

We have a house in Turks and Caicos so I try to get there as much as possible - especially to escape the Connecticut winters.

Does it have to be white glue? I only have clear glue
Curious if the sand would yellow in time from the Elmer's
No it never does.

Can't we just mix resin hardener and colour them and use them instead of alcohol ink .?
