Hi Craig,
Just got the RISE 2.0 RMB kit and the Tactile Triggers kit - can I use your video on installing both of these even though I think yours was on the plastic version and not sure if it was with the tactile paddles or regular?
I've a few different videos, one on installing the clicky, then ones installing the tactile clicky, I always recommend you fit the triggers first then the back buttons, just to make it a little easier for you. If you fit the back buttons then the triggers you might be fighting with the ribbon cables
Hay great tutorials, think I watched 5 videos of you installing these back buttons. I was considering purchasing the 4.0 kit and was wondering how do the K3 and k4 buttons feel to use? To me it seems like them 2 buttons would benefit from small extensions at the bottom so they sit below the k1 and k2 buttons. What do you think?
I'm still trying to gey to grips with the 4 buttons, I've mastered the 2 buttons but 4 is a struggle. I either keep forgetting they're there or hit something else by accident 😄
Yeh I think they are out of place... If they extend the buttons so they sit below and alongside the k1 and k2 buttons so they sit where your fingers naturally sit it would be alot better.
They'll more than likely have another kit out this year, they like to mix things up, or they might even do a custom pad so it's like a whole new shell and you transfer everything over
I got both next gen consoles and this is the main reason I play series x. There’s endless amounts of affordable controllers with paddles. I have used a series 2 elite controller a battle beaver and scuf in the past and fell in love with the power a spectra lol. Cheap controller with decent enough trigger stops, rgb perfect stick tension and perfectly placed and sized back buttons. Don’t know how it’s so cheap I would easily pay more.
I've got the Series S, I was going to buy an Elitre controller but ended up making my own modded controller, I've got 4 back buttons on the back of it using the kit from the same company who does these PS5 controller mods
The elite controller does look really good. But I’ve seen people complain that they break easily or get stick drift.
I think all modern controllers seem to break really easy, no idea how they've not fixed the problem! A simple thing like a controller you would have thought they could fix with stronger materials

The metal paddles? I dunno man I just love the plastic ones so much 😄 at least they're easy enough to change over, I told people they've only take like 5mins to do
Hi. So how are the plastic and metal ones different in sensitivity? I've heard or read somewhere that the RMB is less likely to be pressed on accidentally. Is it even a problem on the plastic ones?

The plastic ones at first are sensitive but your hands kind of get used to the feel and where they are so you're less likely to press. The plastic are definitely more sensitive than the metal ones though, as them are a little harder to press. Roland is a metal guy and I'm a plastic 😄😄

I’d just use his click trigger video, install them. Then refer to his back button video.

They are on L1 and R1, when you install the kit it's for all the trigger buttons 👍
Quick question, if you remap the buttons do you still have access to the original buttons or do they become duds after remapping?
Yeah still use the original buttons as normal, this just duplicates them so you have them on the front and rear 👍

No it doesn't fit on the charging Dock with the paddles, you'll have to just charge it with the USB cable and sit it somewhere
how are you enjoying it i had to remove my metal ones as the PCB didnt feel right they told me they will be dropping a metal version at the 2nd half of the year so we should have them to review
The RISE4 in general I'm still struggling to use all 4 buttons dude, I'm just so used to having 2 it's weird having 4, I'm going to keep trying though.
As for the metal paddles I've not been a fan since I first used them, people have said keel trying them and you'll love them but I think it's just a person thing, you either love them or don't 😄
@@CraigsChannel I love the metal version kit but adding them to the Rise4 don’t feel comfortable and as I explained to eXtremerate we both came to a agreement that using this with the Rise4 will not work the problem is the pcb as this is the first version they used before the problem came across with the paddles if you look at the rise 2.0 V2 pcb you see there’s 2 more pads that says K3 K4 that they pointed out to me if I want to I can soldier. I am working on a mod video to help fix the problem. But they do want I’ll feedback so the new version will be better
Yeah guy on my channel notice the extra k3 and k4 last year he modded the board and had 4 buttons working before they even made the 4 button kit, if you're skilled with a soldering iron you can mode the original kit they brought out with back buttons that's what he did. Do you use all 4 buttons? I'm honestly happy with 2
@@CraigsChannel same im more happy with the 2 metal thinking about switching back but they send me out another metal kit and another rise4 to mod so right now just testing everything out. they may be dropping some new color options there waiting on me to paint them. so they can have a idea on the new color templets to be honest the rise2.0v2 metal version is the best out of all of them. its just to much work trying to find a work around to keep the paddles from getting hit by mistake. the only option right now is to use circle 3/8 sticky pads to put under the paddles and a very small peace of pad to put in the sides of k3 k4 to keep it from hitting working on that video now
What colours you got in mind? I really like the white or black one, I've actually just pre ordered the Pink one, think that's due this week or next.

Hey Craig I have the rise 4 and often find myself clicking the buttons by accident can I put the metal paddles on with the rise 4?
And is there a way to only buy the metal paddles and nothing else ?
If I was you I'd only map two buttons on the back if you feel you're hitting them by accident. I was the same, 4 buttons is a lot to get to grips with.
I think the metal paddles are only on the kit, I prefer the plastic
Just installed the 4 paddles they are a lil too easy to activate might try to get use to them
Have you used paddles before? Give it a few days and you'll get the feel of how to not press them. When I got the 2 button kit I kept clicking them by accident but got the hang of them
They need RMB 4 paddle as a stand-alone product… silver & black.

Ah right, yeah I don't think they sell it separately yet. The price is quite strong, its £72 here in the UK for the kit, I thought it would have been maybes £50
@@CraigsChannel it’s $50 US here as the bundle; only comes with metal silver, I’d like to see black metal paddle… but sadly I had to buy purple plastic kit, & silver metal kit… $100, so that I could have purple grip w/ metal silver buttons.

Unfortunately not at the moment, give it a week or so, or you could drop them a message and see what they have for future plans. They should really sell all the parts seprate so you can fix and match

Somebody said they'll be selling them on their own! But I don't know for sure as they said the RMB has its own board, that's why it's red. As soon as they do they'll probably advertise on Twitter or if you keep checking Amazon. I'll ask extremerate next time they email when they're due to sell them on their own or if they arent! I just thought people who already had them might want to swap them over to the RISE4
The normal rise4.0 and rise 2.0 were way to sensitive imo I ended up buying the metal upgrade kit desoldering the buttons and putting it onto my rise 4.0 it’s literally the best now. Lowkey feel kinda like a membrane button And now I don’t accidentally click the buttons lmao my hands were way too big for how sensitive they were thank god they released the rmbs
that sounds great it just sucks that you gotta pay full price for both kits just for 2 parts. at that point it’s not that far from a scuf
@@Searziin on god lmao. Tbf tho I did find a website which sells the switches in the uk and I think even in the us. (Mouser electronics) they’re much better too they have alpine switches on there which last much longer
No soldering is needed if you don't wish to remap L3 R3 or the touchpad 👍
@Giooo u can use the metal button without soldering I just did it so I could use the higher pressure buttons so when I click it it isn’t unnecessarily sensitive.
i know am a little late but, does the rmb really got some rattling and is loose ? the most important part for me is that it just be durable and never feel a loose or like it will fall or something that what i was wondering, and if it does , does it affect the performance i mean the clicks of the paddles? that all thanks
I personally prefer the plastic back buttons, but quite a few of my friends I've fitted the metal ones and they love them. I think the main reason was durability, so they don't snap

They shouldn't really be loose, have you already fitted them? Tbh I've always got my earphones on so don't even hear the clicking from them unless I remove the headset

Do you know which version you're controller is? There's only 2, either a 010 or 020
I've only had a couple of people say their buttons were loose, but ended up being they hadn't tightened the screws 😄

The metal paddles are more ergonomic and fit the controller shape better
They're actually releasing the Rise4 metal version next week, I've just finished doing the commentary for the video. They've added a few new features to it now to test and make sure you've fitted the kit right 😁

You after metal RISE4? If so silver is only available until another month or two then they said they'll be releasing new colours. Not sure which ones you're after

Your only other option is to buy a pre built kit from them but they start at £199.99

The plastic are more sensitive, some people say too sensitive but I like them. If you're after the RISE4 with metal, give it a couple of days, they'll have the new video on their channel, I just finished the commentary for them

It might be the L1/L2 ribbon cable, loads of people have fitted it the wrong way, easy mistake

Yeah plastic are what I prefer but guess everybody is different. I think they have loads of different colour back buttons if people want to mix things up

So I got the rise4 kit today and installed the PCB over the metal paddles and they are as sensitive as the rise v1/2 with the plastic paddles. This is actually an upside for me because it feels so much more responsive than the metal paddles and board. though the k3/k4 buttons are a little shaky but idk if that’s just me
So you prefer the metal? I'm going to have to keep trying them as I've been using the plastic so long, I'm really used to them now
@@CraigsChannel yeah, I prefer the metal because I originally broke the two left paddles. Apparently I press too hard lol but the metal paddles with this kit make it feel just like the plastic paddles in terms of responsiveness.
@@CraigsChannel although another thing is that it seems like my k4 paddle isn't as responsive compared to k3. Could be a problem on my end though but let me know if yours feel the same way.
😄 a few people I've spoken to said they can't help pressing the paddles hard. Tbh the v3 paddles even pressed hard should be fine, it's the v1 paddles that were causing people issues with snapping but with them redesigning them they seem a lot stronger
@@CraigsChannel yeaaahh it was subconscious for me ahaha but yeah, this new PCB board makes it respond like the plastic paddles. The k4 button is a little unresponsive toward the bottom where the ridge lines are
