The original album song is cool with Maynard from Tool doing the bridge lyrics, there is an old early 90s concert video of him on stage with Rage doing that part live
Rage Against The Machine - quite possibly the most aptly named band in music history. I miss Rage. This society is ripe for a new RATM. We need the angst and anger!
Sadly ratm is misunderstood now. Lots of ultra right wing folks like them because of killing in the name(not the message just the swearing). When Paul Ryan says he likes them but is disappointed by their “new politics”
Wake Up and Freedom are both amazing tracks but I’m betting you’ve heard those. Mic Check and Maria are two of my favorites and maybe you haven’t heard them yet. You really can’t go wrong with whatever you choose. Love your channel, easily my favorite.
People in America need to WAKE UP it starts with you guys!!!!! Something must be done!! Brothers and Sisters!!! We have ur back!!! Soon as you go we go!! 💪
I was raging in the early 90s, loved the song and the reaction. Time for a full rotation of the wheel in the UK - cryptic - rise up, wealth and poverty are inversely proportionately linked. Don't believe the hype!
Just finding your videos today. If you haven’t yet, check out their songs from their third album, “Mic Check”, “Maria”, “Ashes In The Fall”, New Millennium Homes”, and “War Within A Breath”.
I'm going to have a good day, @MRLBOYD MUSIC 🙂Cheered Me Up. Times are crazy, things are wild, but this cheered Me up. Made Me Smile. Did that rhyme ? Kinda 🙂 Giving my coworker a plant for her office. Gonna be a good day 😀
Are you aware that Maynard from Tool sings on the original/album version of this track? Some long standing friendships between RATM and Tool (google it). Here's a live version of this song with Maynard: ua-cam.com/video/R2K2hSB4fEU/v-deo.html
On the guitar solos... those ARE words. That guitar is speaking in it's own language, you just need a good primer on the linguistics. Get into some more blues-rock reviews to learn. Start with Les Paul and or Lone Wolf.
I'm late on this one, but even though this song goes hard as fuck, it has the stench of cognitive dissonance about it. "Be revolutionary, think for yourself, fuck anyone who tells you to do anything, because they're your enemy; also, I command you to rebel against this particular bulleted list of _my_ enemies."
This is that lazy "why do all Goth kids dress the same if they are non-conformists" argument. Him encouraging people to rebel against the current power structure is not cognitive dissonance.
RATM.... love 'em, need 'em back.... Zack still better thn 2/3 the MCs in the rap game and the band is better than 2/3 the metal bands out there... think about RATM, Audioslave, and Prophets of Rage... just sayin'.

There’s like three of them where Maynard actually appears live.
This is an absolutely horrible version of the song.
“Something must be done about vengeance a badge and a gun”
GUILTY ALL COUNTS!!!!!!
God Speed George🙏🏾
And Rodney, and Fred hampton, and MLKjr, and X, and the millions of others that didn't make the news.
Love how you went from “when is this rock song gonna start” or “another solo 😒” to headbanging as soon as Morello smashes that guitar. Growth.
🤘🖤🤘
I've been waiting for you to fall back down the RATM rabbit hole. Holding out hope for a reaction to Township Rebellion.

They are back together
Why do we need a new one? The old one is still depressingly relevant…
Rage against the machine is not a band name, it's a rally cry.
“What? The Land of the Free? whoever told you that is your enemy.”
Great Reaction man, love watching you disseminate Rage and its impact on you as a person. Great pick for a song.
Really wish you'd listen to the studio version.
Ahhww, I'm so sad he didn't do the og version with Maynard
Let’s go notification squad!!!
Love your interpretation of the lyrics. You're pretty knowledgeable.
Considered one of the best bands of all time. Well deserved as well.
The band Brass Against did a killer cover of RATM’s song Wake Up at Welcome to Rockville. You should check it out.
Aww man, have been checking in periodically specifically for this song reaction. Love it. You should check out the slightly faster album version.
Same album township rebellion, settle for nothing two of most underrated
Wake Up and Freedom are both amazing tracks but I’m betting you’ve heard those. Mic Check and Maria are two of my favorites and maybe you haven’t heard them yet. You really can’t go wrong with whatever you choose. Love your channel, easily my favorite.
Mic check might be my favorite deep cut and Maria is peak storytelling from ZDLR
Lyrics are intense. My band covered this song. Always a hit ❤
"Voice of the Voiceless" "true rebel my brother Mumia I reflect upon"...
I’d recommend “The Ghost of Tom Joad” by RATM.
Specifically the live Rock & Roll Hall of Fame version with Springsteen since The Boss is… the Boss.
And the original Springsteen version, too!
That whole Renegades album was FIRE.
Head Like A Hole by Nine Inch Nails is something Id love to see him react to.
Who's with me?
People in America need to WAKE UP it starts with you guys!!!!! Something must be done!! Brothers and Sisters!!! We have ur back!!! Soon as you go we go!! 💪
This looks like the free concert they played in Finsbury Park to celebrate killing in the Name being Christmas number one in the UK
I hate liking when it’s at 420 likes. Don’t want to wreck it. But I have to like for rage
hell yes

the lead guitarist, Tom Morello has a law degree from Harvard, BTW.
"Morello enrolled in Harvard as a political science major and graduated in 1986 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in social studies."

Check out the Pinkpop festival footage. So good!!!!
Great London crowd here!
I like your style
FINALLY

I understand that music is subjective, but who in their right mind would suggest the live version? It doesn't even have Maynard in this version!
If there is a god of the guitar, Tom Morello is his human avatar…
This whole show was free for.beating Simon cowels winner if uks idol for best Xmas song haha
4:57 we don't need the key we'll *break it*
Fuck, this is unique to Rage but their album shit sounds so much better
Sound systems and audio balancing do not seem to play nice at their live shows...
On the guitar solos... those ARE words. That guitar is speaking in it's own language, you just need a good primer on the linguistics.
Get into some more blues-rock reviews to learn. Start with Les Paul and or Lone Wolf.
"He just generally doesnt like tyrants"...😂 as opposed to Slipslide Against The Machine who love tyrants.
Dude first STUDIO version then live, live is something to see it live not watch video of one
The album version is better, in my opinion.
I'm late on this one, but even though this song goes hard as fuck, it has the stench of cognitive dissonance about it. 🤦♂️
One day as a lion - wild international
Zack de la Rocha project outside rage
He already did it, check the channel "MrLboyd Reacts"
RATM.... love 'em, need 'em back.... Zack still better thn 2/3 the MCs in the rap game and the band is better than 2/3 the metal bands out there... think about RATM, Audioslave, and Prophets of Rage... just sayin'.
