The original album song is cool with Maynard from Tool doing the bridge lyrics, there is an old early 90s concert video of him on stage with Rage doing that part live
There’s like three of them where Maynard actually appears live.
This is an absolutely horrible version of the song.
Love how you went from “when is this rock song gonna start” or “another solo 😒” to headbanging as soon as Morello smashes that guitar. Growth.

Rage Against The Machine - quite possibly the most aptly named band in music history. I miss Rage. This society is ripe for a new RATM. We need the angst and anger!
Sadly ratm is misunderstood now. Lots of ultra right wing folks like them because of killing in the name(not the message just the swearing). When Paul Ryan says he likes them but is disappointed by their “new politics”

I’d recommend “The Ghost of Tom Joad” by RATM.
Specifically the live Rock & Roll Hall of Fame version with Springsteen since The Boss is… the Boss.
And the original Springsteen version, too!
That whole Renegades album was FIRE.
Wake Up and Freedom are both amazing tracks but I’m betting you’ve heard those. Mic Check and Maria are two of my favorites and maybe you haven’t heard them yet. You really can’t go wrong with whatever you choose. Love your channel, easily my favorite.
Mic check might be my favorite deep cut and Maria is peak storytelling from ZDLR

The album version is better, in my opinion.
I'm late on this one, but even though this song goes hard as fuck, it has the stench of cognitive dissonance about it. "Be revolutionary, think for yourself, fuck anyone who tells you to do anything, because they're your enemy; also, I command you to rebel against this particular bulleted list of _my_ enemies."
This is that lazy "why do all Goth kids dress the same if they are non-conformists" argument. Him encouraging people to rebel against the current power structure is not cognitive dissonance.

RATM.... love 'em, need 'em back.... Zack still better thn 2/3 the MCs in the rap game and the band is better than 2/3 the metal bands out there... think about RATM, Audioslave, and Prophets of Rage... just sayin'.
