i love pedro! i went to high school there, met my best friend there and have such great memories of hanging out being a teenager. i still go to pedro to visit my best friend's mom. loved this little segment! can't wait to see what ports o' call becomes.
I moved to Texas in 2005, needed to get out of bug city. San Pedro was one of my weekend getta aways. Oh how I miss that place, Point Fermin, even Sea World, so you know how old I am. When we visit, we always take time to visit that area and have a meal at the Cheese cake Factory. Hopefully we'll get out again when they get the high speed trains in that area.
@@YesMeSo alot different. Ports O'Call has been torn down. The fish market, I believe, is the only thing still standing down there. But supposedly that'll be torn down soon and a new one will be built
Born and raised, but Pedro’s changed a lot. Still beautiful but not the same small town. Too many people here now. You used to know everyone and I’ll always love Pedro but it’s definitely going downhill.
It blows my mind how i live only 30 Minutes away from this city, and it's like a whole new world that i've never even knew existed. It amazes me how vast Los Angeles is. So many different cities and neighborhoods you didn't even know were there even if you lived here your entire life.
San Pedro has the vibe of an ethnic blue-collar neighborhood or town you’d find on the East Coast or In the Midwest. You definitely don’t feel like you’re in Los Angeles although it’s within the city limits.
Sunny Aberdeen. I was thinking that the whole time and then you played The Smiths. (not a Seattle band but in spite of their success still a Indi Band). Cemented the vibe.
Don't listen to so many of the terrible takes in the comments. This is a gem of a community. Homelessness and crime are a problem everywhere in California. San Pedro is a treasure and has dedicated local leaders. It doesn't compare to the rest of the city.
There is hometown pride in Pedro. Lived there for many years. There are many problems there. Crime, homelessness, etc etc etc etc etc etc etc. Moved out after rampant theft of my property. Out of control kids . Out of control kids. Out of control kids. Rampant theft. Horrible uncivilized behavior from adults. Horrible drivers. Low ethics. Crime. Crime. I do not recommend anyone moving there. Many people are trapped there. Go visit but don’t move there. There are cool places there. I visit often but I know where not to go. The trash on the streets is the most annoying. Not a family oriented town.
san pedro is one of those seaside places that has a lot of potential but has always had a creepy, cursed vibe. lots of homelessness, dead air, dead energy, dull uninteresting people. such a shame because otherwise it has everything going for it to get it poppin…
San Pedro the most southern neighborhood in the Los Angeles City, limits, 40 miles from Sylmar the most northern neighborhood in the Los Angeles City proper.
San Pedro has turned into absolute trash like all the surrounding area. Don’t sugar coat this tragedy with a nice story. Most people stay out of SP unless they are affiliated with a criminal or gang.
Amazing how the current admin keeps sp in the dumps. We were allways hoping it would improve but it like sp gov wants to keep sections of it completely trashy with homless and gang activities untouched

Born and raised. Still here to this day..first job was at the fish market 💯 love my town
Thanks for always providing an awesome atmosphere and experience. Been going there since 92. Best memories with family there.
Unfortunately the wages today don’t cover the housing costs in San Pedro.
How is it now? Im LB native, the fish market was my first job too in high school. Havnt been in years

That's wonderful to see all the tables of food and all the old cars!!!!
The last southern coastal windsurf spot.
moving here at the end of the summer and I cannot wait -- already feels like home
Where the ghetto meets the sea 😂❤🔥
Exactly it's definitely not the same
You could have played the Minutemen in the background instead of The Smiths
I almost did! I'm saving Corona for... Corona lol

I bet the price tag of housing is there to still remind you.

There Father's Day every year
We Love Dads
I want to live there but it's just so far from the valley where i work
Can we get a regular segment of dispensary tours with the lovely Kareen Wynter?? It could be called 'Blazin w/ Blasians' 🤩😘💨
It reminds me of San Diego more than LA which is a good thing in my opinion

When u know u know LA life
Had a super cool underground/punk music scene back in the day.. these scenes are cool but it's harsh
