The animation in the 1940 classic absolutely puts to shame anything in the 2022 remake. I'm an artist and am in total awe of this movie's use of perspective, foreshortening, stretch and squash and animated facial expressions. I'm re-watching a DVD rip of my old VHS of Pinocchio and even with the softer image of videotape, I'm entirely blown away. This movie truly deserves the title "classic". It is superb entertainment and outstanding animation.
I’m no animation expert but it’s good to hear appreciation for the classics.
@@BoxOfChocolatez I love the old animated Disney classics, too.
two lessons from this movie: knowing right from wrong is a lot easier than you think and *sometimes* in life, more than we care to admit, bad people get away with bad deeds. the later in the Hayes Code days is most impressive.
I wasn't aware of the Hays Code, just looked it up so thanks for that new info!
I've watched it yesterday for the first time and man the animation was beautiful especially the blue fairy her movements felt realistic idk how they did it back then but it was amazing
Glad you enjoyed it.
@13:20 Because by giving him life, she also gave him free will. If she made him have "more of a propensity to do good," he might as well still have his strings. Pinocchio had to develop that propensity himself...and he did.
Yeah I got that, I’m just nitpicking that magic doesn’t make sense. Which of course it doesn’t, but that’s fine. Plus he basically wanted to do good the whole time but just didn’t know how, bit of a dick move on her part lol
Pinocchio is one of the most finely animated Disney movies. I do not feel like seeing the remake. If you do something right the first time, you don't have to do it again.
True they should remake movies that didn't live up to their potential the first time, but instead they just want to capitalize on big names.
The remake is literally our conscience that tells us that we should stay away from soulless cash grabs of the already perfect originals
In my opinion, Disney’s version of Pinocchio is the most underrated character! They hardly do anything with him nowadays
Pinocchio is usually regarded to be Walt Disney's best film; other than FANTASIA which he personally considered his masterpiece, even though it isn't fully accessible to everybody it was artistically a landmark in animation and wholly original.
The wise lessons in Pinocchio are what I appreciate. Trust, stranger danger, genuine loss and love of a parent. I'd argue that these themes are more important for children in today's world than they were in Carlo Collodi's time, or in 1940.
They root beered it down
They sure did.
Pinocchio is a freaking horror movie. Stromboli, the Coachman and Monstro should be up there in the pantheon of horror icons.
I don't remember being effected by it as a kid, I just thought it was fun. It's much creepier watching it now weirdly.
I felt bad for the little donkey kids though, poor babies.
@@maxpowell3275 Oh definitely, it's really messed up.
The "honey I turned the kids into hamburger meat" gets me every time 😂
Maybe I'm just not thinking of it, but the what?
@@BoxOfChocolatez i love you.hahahah

Well at least there is one god thing about the live action Remake. It makes people want to watch the old one again.
Seems like it, that’s good.
The Start is Comedy I’m Probably gonna call my channel The AVP Alpha
Also My Old name was Dragon Games Studio’s
Alrighty then...
Jimmy is not good coincidence
He abandoned Pinocchio in. Puppet
Show I enjoy Pinocchio I grow up with it
He had to learn the right way to do it just like Pinocchio, he didn't really do much but he kinda tried lol
I wouldn't say that. Jimminy didn't all the way leave Pinnochio because if it wasn't for him wanting to wish him luck in acting Pinnochio would have been turned to firewood and as for Pleasure Island it's understandable why he left because Pinnochio was so wrapped up in being like lampwick but still Jimminy realized the boys turned into donkeys and so they leave the island. The biggest questions in my head are what happened to Stromboli Gideon Honest John? I don't like how Disney let them they get away with exploiting Pinnochio just because hes naive. The reason I didn't mention Coachman is because in the SNES game in 1998 you get to defeat him when you leave pleasure Island and that's a nice touch
The 1978 version is more accurate
2022 bad movie
Agreed
The original stands the test of time as one of, if not, the goat of hand-drawn animation.
Just don't tell that to Joshua Newton. He gave this film a much too generous 7 out of 10.
Plus, he was crying (Butthead laugh)!
Sorry folks! I binged too much Beavis and Butthead within the last 72 hours.
The book is better
