No need to reply to me sir but you have me best wishes. Amazing how things like social media and cameras can be used for good or bad but in this case, you may have changed this thief's perspectives by forcing him to face the consequences of his actions as he sees them in the mirror of social media and saved yourself a lot of headaches from the constant loss. This could literally make him a better man and it looks like he needs the help. I'm up in Md but I'm going to pin the farm for my next road trip for some syrup!

Fed pens are generally greatly preferable to State pens. The whole thing with making it a "Federal" offense is mis-guided. State pens range from really bad (Angola) to possibly fractionally better than a Fed Pen. Generally, they are far more miserable.
@@xerxes8632 That is an excellent point, albeit please note the fed system allows for up to 54 days off per year ( ~ 15%) for good behavior. Granted; state systems typically allow for this as well, and in potentially greater amounts. State systems also sometimes allow for training, treatment, and placement of trust positions. Your point is an excellent one to make. However, please note the 10-year sentence does not mean 10 years. It means 8.5 years to 10 years.
I'm from WV and people like this are an embarrassment. If he's stealing from you, he's stealing from others. He needs to be held accountable. Good luck to you, sir.
That may be the reason he hasn't been arrested yet. The police are looking to see how widespread his acts are. Perhaps his brother is sick and tired of him too. Sounds like he gave them a lot of information.
We had a similar thing happen when I lived in Ohio. A senior neighbor on the main country road had an “Honor” stand with sweet corn, tomatoes, etc. Everything was great for a long time until it wasn’t. Those were the days when Facebook and security cameras were still a very new thing. The stand’s owner posted a big sign about the honor box being taken. It was a small town so the news spread fast and was even a sermon topic at our local small town church. Folks were very upset because they counted on this honor stand for their veggies for supper every night. It wasn’t long before the culprit was discovered. The culprit was the idiot son whose parents lived in the area. The parents made the idiot child return the cash box, apologize to the stand’s owner, and stand by the roadside with a sign stating the he was the thief. Nothing like a good public shaming to get their mind right.
That's a great story. I.jope the kid remembers it for the rest of his life. Hopefully, he will some day teach his children the importance of being honest.
Yup back in the day we had a small dairy that sold raw milk, and you filled your jugs put the money in the cigar box and all was good. Then they lost over 50 gallons of milk and the box in one night. SO much for the honor system
The fact that you still run an Honor System Stand is awesome. I wish I could give you my business!! Your heart is much bigger and more forgiving than mine.
I think given the opportunity you might surprise yourself how kind and forgiving you can be. Don't get me wrong, I went through a lot of emotions getting to this point... but in the end, they were all for nothing. I cannot change this person on God can! I'm glad he is not stealing from us any more... or at least hasn't yet. He is a bold fella for sure. Thanks for watching Mr. Matt Dat! And thanks for the comment. Kevin

Well I agree that we must still pray. Some people DO repent. It is a very bleak world if we don't believe that sinners cannot come to God's understanding.
@@lechatel Pray your life away. He will only start to understand if he's put in a situation where he thinks he should start praying and understand the fear of God.
That happened to me at my farm stand in Florida. The local sheriff installed his own camera. Which he was able to monitor himself. The next time she broke into the money box he was able to identify and arrest her. Charged her with burglary of a structure which is a felony in Florida.
Aw the opposite happened to a farm stand near me:/ She used to sell cookies and pies but kept being thefted from, both money and food. She caught the lady stealing and asked her on camera if she had done it, the lady admitted yes. Cookie lady took video to our Sheriff and he said she coerced her and there was no case. It is now time for you to file a lawsuit against him. Sue him on top of his criminal retributions. Thieves are horrible. Make him remember it for the rest of his life. I have no compassion for people who prey on others.
Uh, you wouldn't get anything worthwhile. Lawsuits cost money and the hope it get money out of the person you sue. He likely doesn't have two nickles. At one point in our history, a suit made of tar and feathers would have been one possible solution.
@@freemab222 In cases like this the juice is almost never worth the squeeze. And a person who is praying for the criminal to lead a Godly life isn't suing anyone, and good for them.
@@etainepona4206 Depends on your state. If you can document multiple occurrences you can sue for actual damages and then for the torment of it all. @@freedfree7933 Could be the area in which I grew up. Many of my family were farmers and had stands very much like this. It was very rare for any funny business to happen. I have no doubt that unscrupulous individuals have always been around but none of my family members have honor stands anymore.
@@freedfree7933 No, not really. I live about 30 minutes away from there now and can confirm that no one leaves their doors unlocked or their keys in their cars anymore and it's not because of you tube.
I have a small Honeybee Apiary in NW Georgia. For 3 years I have placed an honor stand out by our country road. To my amazement its never been robbed. Traveling through Washington and Oregon and being able to buy fresh eggs, veg, raw milk and sometimes flowers is amazing and I love supporting local. I sure hope this guy pays for what he has done. Thanks for the update be blessed ❤
I’ve only experienced an honor farm stand once and that was in 2023 when I hiked the Appalachian Trail. Nice stand that had Gatorade (I know not a farm product) eggs, two flavors of ice cream in two sizes and milk in several sizes. When I stopped I gorged on ice cream and paid triple what they asked simply because I truly appreciated what the family/farmer were doing. Many of the hikers with me that day did the same. Best of luck

In the Finger Lakes, the cash boxes are mostly bolted or chained. This guy is certainly stealing from others, so refuse to take any plea. Prey for him to go to jail for awhile, a few days with bubba may awaken his soul. Haleluhla.
I had someone rip the end of the table off to steal the cash box it was bolted too. I once caught a woman at 5 am stealing my stuff. She was driving an expensive SUV so it wasn’t poverty that motivated her.
I can understand and sympathize with your position that all you want is for the theft to stop. The problem is, without punishment, it will not stop. It may stop at your stand, but his behavior will not change unless he gets a wake up call. 90 days in the county lockup may just be what it takes to make a believer out of him.
Jails do not work. It is basically criminal school where tricks of the trade are exchanged. They should only be for violent offenders. Making the guy work on that farm until his debt is paid is justice. And make sure the local paper reports it.
I love your maple syrup stand ❤️ Great job catching the thief. Hopefully, you can spread his details so the community can be on the look out for him. You won't be the only one he is thieving from. Such a shame.
We Appreciate your efforts to get to the bottom of this theft. It’s Unfortunate we have people in this World that Don’t want to Work and make an Honest Living. 👍🙏
When I was young milk delivery was still a thing. One could leave an empty milk bottle on your porch or in the milk box beside your door with money in it to pay for your next bottle of milk or pay your weekly tab. Not one person in the village would dare to steal it. If you checked you would also find that many people never locked or removed the keys from the ignition of their cars. Very few people locked the doors to their home, even when they went on vacation. My parents did not have a locking door on our house until 1979.What has our society come to these days????
Imho it is the spread of misuse of drugs, the effect of needing the next fix drives people to do most awful things. Big thanks to all who help others break the addiction.
What changed? God started to be erased from our schools and society starting June 25th, 1962. Now we have families of two and three generations which have never set foot inside a church, much less understand that morality comes from God. I’ve lived through the slide, and was part of it myself thanks mostly to college. But the Lord was good and returned me to the flock. Kevin and his family are just like he comes across in his videos. This man was granted grace to steal from Kevin, and I pray he is convicted - in his soul.
Thank you for never giving up on catching this thief! You can be sure that he and his partner ( the driver of the vehicle) do this frequently. We all pay the price for what is stolen whether it is a small farm store or a large business. So sad.
You are such a kind hearted person. I hope justice is served and he sees the error of his ways. You have a lovely stand and I am so glad you are wanting to continue. God bless.
You got him, I'll tell ya, there is nothing more American than the farm stand, and the trust we put into our fellow man. He is certainly thieving from others, if you have the lack of moral fiber to do this to one, you will do it to others. I was selling camp firewood for a few years on my property. I had a few incidents where someone was taking the wood and not leaving money. I'm the kind of guy that will gladly give wood to someone in need. I installed a camera, on a post, in plain site, and it stopped. All I need to do was to show the camera's existence in my case. God bless you sir, and I too will pray for this man.
What a nightmare. I am glad you solved this crook. Please remain strong. Your farm stand is provable not the only place he steal from. New subscriber 🙏🏽
I was originally just going to leave a comment about how nice of a person you seem to be and how calmly patient you have been trying to catch this guy. But the end of your video, where you said you were praying for this man was really the best. God bless you and prosper you, and keep you in good health even as your soul prospers.
I was happy to see that you caught this thief. Nothing is more infuriating especially for a small business owner. Years ago I discovered that some of my artwork had been stolen and was being sold on t-shirts on foreign websites. I had made the mistake of opening an Amazon store to sell t-shirts with my artwork. I had high hopes for that store but I quickly came to the realization that I was a tiny minnow in a ginormous pond! I only sold a couple of t-shirts there. Worse than that, however, was my discovery that my artwork had been stolen. I literally got nauseous when I saw my artwork for sale on foreign websites. I shutdown my Amazon store after that happened. I am impressed that you asked for prayers for your thief. I prayed for him, as well as the dishonest person driving that car. I never prayed for the souls of the person or people who stole and reproduced my artwork. I’m going to follow your example. Thank you, and God bless you.
I'm glad to see your hard work and patience have finally paid off. Restitution would be nice, but in the end, if he just stops stealing, that in itself would be nice.
Who steals from an honor farm stand? What a scumbag. I never knew virginia produced maple syrup, thats really cool that youre able to do that! Best of luck, my friend.
You have such a great attitude about this situation, being a small business owner myself I'm always worried about thieves stealing my hard earned money and tools. I know you said you wanted the thief to turn their life around and I agree but sometimes the best way to do that is for someone to go to jail, get drug rehab, and hopefully return to society after learning a hard lesson. I know this because my niece is in a rehab program now instead of going to jail. So many young folks are addicted to drugs because they are extremely cheap & strong now due to a steady flow of Fentanyl from Mexico. I pray our country can get rid of these horrible drugs that are corrupting our society & stealing the lives from so many young adults.
Good for you! I've bought items from farm stands like yours, and I have never understood why this happens to good people like yours who perform a service like you. God bless, and good luck!
I used to drive by an honor stand like yours although not as nice. I always bought stuff to support the family. And to this day it still makes me feel great that they trusted people to do the right thing. I miss those days where if I forgot to lock the house, I didn't have to worry too much about someone breaking in. The days when people were decent to each other. Sigh.
Standing in agreement, praying for these individuals! imo, the driver of the vehicle is just as culpable in the commission of the crime! Will also pray that this puts an end to these kinds of shenanigans at your farm stand!!! ❤️🙏❤️
He understands what he’s doing, he just doesn’t care. Going easy on someone like this seems like the christian thing to do but in my opinion, that hurts more than it helps. Thieves grow more confident the longer they get away with something. Teaching him a lesson today can keep him from going down a path where he could hurt someone.
You should also hire an attorney and file a civil suit, as the police will likely only drop this case so he will plead on other unrelated charges. Been there, have the t-shirt… even if he is judgement proof it will stick on him longer than a misdemeanor… You can never tell them to pay or you will prosecute as that is extortion. But, through criminal court there is little chance to recover anything. Plus if you don’t follow it closely they will let it fade away…It’s the only way he will stop…
I hope I didn’t come across or even say that we would not prosecute if he gave us our stuff back. For sure that is extortion or against the law. I’ll go back and review the video to make sure I didn’t say anything like that. Because we would not do that for any reason. Thanks for watching our video and taking a minute to leave your thoughts. Means a lot to us. Kevin
One time, a lapse in good judgment. Any more than that is a plan. And..there's two of them involved! Nice car, and they look well fed. To file charges against them would actually help them to become A Better Person.
What occurred to me was an AirTag in one of the cameras hidden that you knew he would steal. If he threw the camera away, you would know where it was, etc.. People who are package thieves, sometimes get the surprise of their life when they open things that they shouldn’t have their hands on. I’m glad you have the necessary information. Don’t hold your breath for the authorities to help you, just look what happened in Butler, Pennsylvania.
For those porch pirates who steal packages, make sure you read up on "booby trap" laws in your area. Even if it's just as innocent as a glitter bomb, you could be prosecuted for assault. If a glitter bomb goes off while the thief is driving away (if he or his passenger opens the package while the car is in motion) and he gets injured in an accident, YOU can be held liable. Booby traps are 100% prohibited where I live.
What a lovely farm stand! I'd absolutely love the opportunity to visit it.(I am British, living in France) I am so glad you have now some peace of mind. Maybe you should ask the thief to return your beloved jar. I would hope he would see that as some kind of amendment. You are good people and have a wonderful attitude.
Ohh my goodness. . Why would someone go this low? Who taught him that this was alright to do?. . Surely I will pray 🙏 for an amicable resolution for both you and him. He is definitely misguided in his heart and soul.
Wow! I knew early into the video that Christ was in your heart by the way you explained the circumstances and never once attacked the man personally, spoke negatively about his character, or called him names, etc. Keep The Faith, spread the word and joy will surely come your way. 🙏🏼
Amen... I just posted a similar comment. Kevin most certainly doesn't have his candle under a bushel basket. Prayers for the thief's repentance and salvation. If Saul/Paul and the thief on the cross can be saved, so can be the thief of Kevin's stand.
i don't see how there can be down votes on this. what is disputable about this? this man is a small business owner. he takes pride in this product, and makes it possible for people to enjoy it at the convience of everyone. selfish behavior ruins it for everyone, fresh maple just tastes better.
Where do you see down votes? I only see the thumbs up. If there are down votes they likely come from people who dislike the Bible quotes and the ask for prayer.
Thank you for standing up for us Roberwittjr1198. We are a small business and love what we do. I'm grateful for your comment. You are the person we wish to attract to our channel. Hope to see you in more comments. Kevin
I hope they charge both of them and lock em' up! It really sucks that there are people that have to act that way. I really don't like lying, cheating, stealing people. I hope that they make restitution to you for all this mess they have caused.
Unlike large corporations who mass produce foods for a smaller profit per item, small businesses which produce low volumes of food find it a lot harder to cope with things like this. Glad you were able to identify them, so many of us small producers don't and end up and often stop roadside sales. In New Zealand almost every farm or orchard would have fruit and other produce at their gate. These days with dishonesty and various regulations, this has largely stopped. It is a real shame as nowadays young people only experience food purchase through supermarkets, not direct from the farms which are now generally a lot further from their customers. I am one of the privileged ones who experienced those times with farm gate sales and a relatively short drive to buy it and it is something I will always cherish.
Hi Kevin. I'm so sorry that one idiot can destroy all your hard work and trust. You're handling the problem much kinder than I would! I would love to know if you sell and ship your amazing syrup? If so I would love to order some. Everything happens for a reason and unfortunately we don't always find the "why" of it all. You're a kind and honest man. I hope your thief gets what's coming to him soon!
I need to try some of that VA syrup as well. I googled your location & it’s four hours away - darn - thought we might make a day trip over from Annapolis & get some goods! I think you need a better “honesty jar” similar to those steel pipes used at State parks. A slot in the pipe that’s been welded. Don’t make it easy for thieves.
Its wonderful that you have an "Honor" farm stand. When I see them, my faith in humanity is refreshed. It shows that you trust people, that you think people are inherently good and you're selling good and wholesome food. So much goodness in what you do. I'm not religious, but if religion gives you the energy to do this for humanity, then you're doing "religion" right. Thanks for that.
I am not a religious man whatsoever but the kindness and love and non-judgmental attitudes you show towards people that have harmed you in one way or another is commendable. Bless you folks
I encourage you to follow through with the strictest legal justice possible. This would be a blessing to him, as it will help him learn a lesson and improve his life choices. Anything else, is enabling a poor behaviour pattern. May Father bless you and your family too, thank you for being a great person. Would love you as my neighbour.
The man also had an accomplice. I pray that justice will be served for both offenders. I know a lot of people don't necessarily want to see someone go to jail, but there is a point when you have to remember that this person is not a child. They knew what they were doing and they didn't care about who they were hurting. I pray they will ask for forgiveness from a contrite heart. Forgiveness doesn't mean they shouldn't be disciplined though. I pray that your farm stand will be successful regardless of his crimes.
Honor farm stands are a favorite memory from my childhood. I grew up in PA and it was, and still is, such a special concept to me that people were trustworthy enough to pick what they wanted and leave their cash in exchange. This barely qualifies as human entity is despicable. Bless you for keeping a positive mindset, putting in the effort to catch him and putting in the effort to pray for him.
I know it might mean much But I’m really sorry for your experience trying to do something positive in your community. I’m pleasantly surprised to see your still active with the stand and you haven’t let some POS stop your commitment and small business endeavors to that same community . Best wishes for your success and will stay in our prayers, thank you.

This is what I like about small towns and villages, people can't be bad the same as they'll get found out and everyone will know.
Man that’s classic, good parenting, and debutant from doing wrong, my guess would be he never steals again.

Yup back in the day we had a small dairy that sold raw milk, and you filled your jugs put the money in the cigar box and all was good. Then they lost over 50 gallons of milk and the box in one night. SO much for the honor system

Exactly, a trump supporter tried killing trump....just like this trump supporter stole from the farm stand. Crazy country, with one common thread. 🤣
What happened in Butler? Did someone rob another farm stand?

Your stand is beautiful!
God bless you and your work.
I just think it's a testament to your good faith that you're in such high spirits despite the malicious actions taken against you. God bless you, sir.
I hope they charge both of them and lock em' up! It really sucks that there are people that have to act that way. I really don't like lying, cheating, stealing people. I hope that they make restitution to you for all this mess they have caused.
I was hoping for the thief to be a very personable raccoon or an unusually friendly bear
Maybe it's the thief's spirit animal😂😂😂j/k.
Animals do not steal just for the joy of it, nor do they choose evil knowingly and deliberately. Only the 'smart' species.
Great work standing up for yourself while remaining compassionate! I hope to be as understanding as you one day! Bless you, your family, and the man
I encourage you to follow through with the strictest legal justice possible. This would be a blessing to him, as it will help him learn a lesson and improve his life choices. Anything else, is enabling a poor behaviour pattern. May Father bless you and your family too, thank you for being a great person. Would love you as my neighbour.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts! Kevin
God Bless Mill Gap Farms.
Both you & the thief are in our prayers. 🙏❤️🌞❤️🙏
I like how calm yet determined you all are about this aggravating situation.
