i plan on getting one, going to move my current drives for my ftp and plex to the faster machine, will be running windows 7 or server 2008 r2 on the new server
Thanks for the video, I have a question /request. Is there any chance you can make a few videos for the T620 one about replacing the Motherboard when it goes bad, and one on how to install the Dell MDCVH PowerEdge T620 Power Distribution Board 296-004X-A00 0MDCVH to power compatible GPU cards? I am debating buying the card because based on what Dell says the only way to get it is adding it whit the initial order. Thank you
Yes. At some point we will be doing a series in the T620. However we have several systems in line before this one. Keep an eye out for the T620 series!
Thanks for the vid! Question: We currently have one of those Dell T620 servers with 2 Intel Xeon E5 2609 v2 CPUs (they are 80W TDP each) and we are looking forward to upgrade these to 2 Intel Xeon E5 2670 v2 CPUs (which are 115W TDP each). Will the server default heatsinks/fans handle these bulkier processors just fine or should i upgrade them somehow? (they are exactly the same as in the vid - heatsink reference code 056jy6)
Thanks for sharing. I found a Dell T620 Server Dual Xeon E5-2620 64GB RAM H710 8 bay for $400 bucks …. Good deal? I was hoping to use it For storage. Or make some vms on it for the kids as well would this be a good option?
Seems like a great deal. Generally cost a bit more than this price. This would be a great option for at home storage... especially given the tower form factor.
Thanks for the informative videos, really helpful. I have one thing that i don't quite understand in this particular video , and that is regarding the memory ranks on your 64GB LRDIMM's You are saying at one point that a memory can have up to 8 ranks / channel , and that 32GB LRDIMM's are seen as 2 rank / memory module by the motherboard , doesn't that mean that 64GB LRDIMM's are seen as 4 rank / module which would make it go over the 8 ranks / channel ? Thank you!
need help: our t620 is stuck in the memory configuration and have drained all power with the reset. when install the memory out of order we get the "not populated in correct order" error makes me believe that DIMM slots are working correctly and reads the order. I have tried testing new memory and it is the same issue. i have booted the server without the PERC controller, network card all other peripherals and the issue persists. any recommendations?
@@cloudninjas I waited quite a while, more than 2-3 hours & twice over night but no luck. but was eventually able to figure it out by stripping the server down to the minimum hardware configuration by leaving only CPU1 and one RAM (removed all the peripherals, network cards, even the PERC storage connections, front panel, etc., as well). I believe the issue is likely with CPU2 or the motherboard. once i have the data recovered I will switch the CPUs to know for sure and report back here. also about to place in order with you guys for 740xd after watching your videos. Alex Storemski is great to work with.
Hi, I have T620 with 24 gb of memory( 6x4gb). Is it ok to buy extra 8x 32gb and mix or it has to be only 32 gb? How to configure the memory? Where to put 32gb? My curent 4gb are installed at A1 A2 A3 and B1 B2 B3. Thanks.
Yes you can mix sizes. Please note you need same type of RAM and cannot mix RDIMMs with LRDIMMs. Whatever slowest speed module is installed, they will all clock down to that speed... so make sure you get correct speed in order to not down clock your current RAM. Check out our website for more options. Link in description section.
whether it be on amazon or ebay, these are expensive as a whole. how ever i can see some one using this to use as mass storage for their youtube/rumble videos. not sure if you can put in a gpu like a Nvidia Tesla or Quadro because of the power supply
I have the exact server. I installed 8GB X24 DDR3 1866 MHZ RDIMMS and the clock speed is at 1333 MHZ only. What is the part number for those 64GB LRDIMM's
Good day everyone. Still noob and need advice to people i think who knows more than me on this. Currently we're using Dell T620 with Processor(s) Intel Xeon Silver 4210 2.2G, 10C/20T with 2x 16GB SKhynix 16GB 2Rx8 PC4 - 2666v-re2-12(HMA82GR7JJR8N-VK TF AC) Memory on it and 1 of the memory just crush down. So i decided to purchase 1 replacement for that memory and our supplier offer me this Memory * Dell 16GB 3200 MT/s Memory * Kingston KTD-PE426D8/16G Memory Which 1 of this memory is suitable for my server and does this memory can work together with our 1 remaining SKhynix 16GB 2Rx8 PC4 memory? Please if anyone can help me with this
Think you may have a different system. The cpus and RAM you mentioned are not for Dell T620. Kindly double check your system and I would be happy to help. Thank you. Take care.

Nice we have some of these and T630 in stock if interested please contact sales@cloudninjas.com.
Please do a video on How to install / connect the raid controller for all the drives. Thank you.
Will try to get something put together soon. Take care. Smash that subscribe.
Membist error bios disabled a3/a6 slot? Any fix on bios?

Yes will work. Just make sure to add thermal grease during your upgrade. Good luck! Smash that subscribe.

Great question. As a whole, LRDIMMs are seen as dual rank and that includes the 32GB or 64GB.
@@cloudninjas ahha , i was sure that if the capacity doubles than the rank number would double as well
Good to know , thank you again! :)
Does T620 support newer Nvidia GPU, such as RTX 4090, 4080, 3090 or professional card like RTX A5500 A6000 Ada etc.?

Sometimes memory configuring sits like that for 20 or 30 minutes. How long did yoy wait?
