    Very nice video, I really enjoyed it. I was wondering if the upgrade increased accuracy? Mine (stock GSG) shoots great at 7 to 10 yards but at 15 yards it starts shooting all over the place. If that upgrade would help improve the accuracy I would definitely do it but I'm afraid I'll buy them and it wont really shoot any better. If it were just the parts I would do it, but mine is the "California" edition where you have to send it in to ZR Tactical for some welding because the barrel isn't threaded.

      I like the extended spring guide, but I did end up reinstalling the barrel screw; barrel had a bit of wiggle. If or when I do another upgrade it will be sights. I wish I saved the info on some I just about got; they were still with fiber optic inserts. I believe they would be more bang for the buck. Thanks for watching and commenting.

      Well, I had to replace the spring guide anyway, so the full-length spring guide was worth what I paid for the kit. I did eventually put the screw back in but hope to have more time to shoot and compare with and without the screw a little more. Thanks for watching and commenting.

    May i ask what problems you were having to necessitate the upgrade? I have the mauser , made by gsg same as the sig. It worked perfectly 10 months now jams, stove pipes etc. Went from being great and fun to just aggravating!

      Yes.. i i cleaned and oiled it , tried 3 different high velocity ammos, and finally ordered the ultimate upgrage kit. I think the springs binding or week.. hasnt arrived yet so dont know if this fixed it. Thank you!

      @Tony Tham gsg replaced the slide. It was pushing the front barrel lock out of the slide because their alloy is so soft. I replaced the guide rod and spring with the stainless upgrades as well as the barrel lock and thread protector/ bushing with the ultimate upgrade kit. It's better but still stove pipes occasionally. I think its mag issues. These are very cheaply made and I wouldn't buy another. When this one dies, probably by this time next year I'll either buy the sig 322, or the fn 502. The fn is very good but comes with crap sights. For a $500 gun that's ridiculous..

    What is the exact reason why the screw is no longer needed? Is it being block by the new upgrade? Thanks in advance.

    • @LongsQuest
      @LongsQuest  Рік тому +3

      Screw will go in just not needed, helps in field tear down, no tools need. The new tip is tapered so barrel alignment is at the tip and not the screw holding in place.
      Thanks for watching.

      Hey! 1st, thanks for checking out the video. I did put the screw back in but got about the same results. Have not been shooting as much and have been using old bulk ammo. I can even hear the difference in the sound of rounds fired. Need to test it using some new ammo.

      Mine will stovepipe now and then, usually it old amo, and when I have had nosedive I was using cheep greasy bulk amo. If you have an outdoor area to shoot I would shoot sitting on the ground resting the mag on my knee or in a position where I could have pressure on the bottom of the mag pushing it up firmly and then shoot several rounds to see if that makes a difference. Possibly something going on with the mag release. Just don't know. I do love plinking with mine. And usually if there's a problem it my fault. Hope you figure out what is going on with yours.

      @@exno.1725 I think the Sig 1911 22lr is a full frame, what I understood, it was a replica of the original 1911's. It seems like I read GSG actually manufactured these for Sig. It looks like parts for the GSG and the SIG are interchangeable but I'm not 100% on that, sure would not want to tell you something wrong. I do know it's a inexpensive and fun plinker.
