@Most-sane-deltarune-fan I feel like most clocks are actually digital nowadays. Considering how many time displays there are on screens versus actual time pieces.
even if they didnt use AI they chose the worst possible aesthetic for a cat game. couldve been a forest or a cosy, lived in house but they chose the cold and sleek "futuristic" meta houses that just seem so disconnected from any feeling of cosiness or charm
We already have post-apocalyptic robot society cat game with realistic animations. We need a cottagecore cat game with realistic animations & platforming, for balance.
The trailer wasn’t made with ai. They clearly used ai to generate a bunch of slop concept art and handed it to a trailer studio with a ton of crypto and NFT investor funds. Then they used even more investor funds to drop hundreds of thousands or maybe millions on the trailer spot in the game awards. The whole thing is slop top to bottom, the “devs” are lying blatantly and there’s a grift in there somewhere.
The superauthenti owners are two Hong Kong venture capitalist shitheads, you know they just want to churn out low effort garbage and scam people for as much money as possible If it feels like shit and smells like shit, guess what folks?
@ yep. Those images are absolutely ai. The “games” whole “art” direction is ai generated. It’s pretty clear that even though the trailer was made by humans, the foundation is 100% ai slop
I work at a University on AI Ethics and all the texts are 100% LLM and not even an advanced model. It has that overly sincere, corny quality to it that is typical for AI that lacks any subtle writing.
@m00nrac00n I find AI images kind of irritating to look at, but I think I find LLM text to be especially offensive these days. Writing a few paragraphs for a website or Steam page does take time for sure, but that time can be measured in hours at the most. Write it, get somebody to proof read it, repeat until complete, submit it. You can even tweak it later! To just get a machine to do it shows a real lack of passion, at least to me.
Notable thing: during the weird gameplay trailer, all of the cats use animations made for dogs, just with a cat model stretched over them. Cats do not move like that at all.
@@roadkill_52 I’ve lived and taken care of both cats and dogs all my life, and I can confidently say that cats do not move like that- those are very much canine/dog-like movements. Are you the one smoking something? /lh
Wait, you're telling me a company named "Super Authentic" is currently under fire for releasing an AI-generated cat game? Are we in sort of comedy skit?
Ai or not, its raising red flags that a game that lacks gameplay and looks like its still in its beta not only had a spot in the game awards but also had the marketing funds to get very popular creators to tweet about it
I'm flashing back to Markiplier ranting "Where is Honey getting the money?" Because of the trend that mascot horror games followed for a while, where they would release one good chapter, and then a bunch of merchandise, I do wonder if the ultimate goal with Catly is to get people just excited enough about it that they're willing to buy something adjacent to it. Probably NFTs if that's what the company is used to working with. Maybe they think they can take the preorder money and disappear? There was a clothing business that did something kind of like that. They changed their business name shortly before they closed, and it caused problems for people trying to do charge-backs for stuff they never got.
@Most-sane-deltarune-fan jauwn is a youtuber who's covered a bunch of games that set their premise on either play-to-earn, blockchain in-game items (usually NFTs to unlock an item, often with the promise they'll work between games (that's not how game items work)), or some other integration of the blockchain like crypto. i think 99% of the games he covered turned out to be rugpulls or otherwise made money off the blockchain hype rather than the quality of their game. none of them seem like a feature complete game, much less one you'd play for fun
“Dear internet, I'm a 26 year old lady who's been developing a ai-based, 100% cat MMO for the last two years. I'm finally making my beta-website now, and using my ai work as a base to create my 50+ concept images. Wish me luck, Reddit; You'll be the first to see the site when it's finished.”
Calling a studio that supposedly doesn’t use AI “Super Authintici” is like calling a shady, back ally bike shop “Super Absolutely Not Stolen Bike Store”
It’s like in the Gen II Pokémon games, where Team Rocket’s base is hidden in a souvenir shop called “Just a Souvenir Shop Nothing Suspicious about It No Need to Be Alarmed”
My theory having worked for an animation studio, I have a theory that the animation was (poorly) outsourced. Not poorly because the animators sucked, but because the 'storyboard' feels like it's been done or decided on by a non artist, aka the 'customer' in this case. We had a lot of cases of clients just wanting what they wanted even if it looked bad, and communicating with poorly about the project. So this kinda gives that same vibe.
Yeah many studios that do stuff like ads won't really give a shit what the project actually is, so long as it pays. I could see a case where someone AI generated a concept version of the trailer as a rough draft and liked that version well enough that they just passed it off to a willing animation studio and told them to make it exactly like that.
I disagree, but not bc I think they move like cats. If anything, I noticed more that 80 percent of movements were just cats *falling off* something lol so there's not actually a lot of complex animated movement to analyze (Maybe to hide shit animation)
I saw like 10 seconds of the trailer and i was like "oh that's AI slop." Not because there were any huge visual glitches in what i saw, but because it makes choices that no artist would make, but which looks "good" to the untrained eye of someone who fancies themself an artist. That putrid unicorn vomit aesthetic that is so popular with AI freaks. It's the grown-up digital equivalent of a toddler pouring glitter onto macaroni art, but at least the toddler is sincere.
As someone who works a lot with xgen (What is often used to simulate hair and fur on 3d animations) the way the fur moves looked quite off to me like that was not a human in charge of making sure it moved right. Also the weird lighting, way too fast camera shots (perhaps because it started melting going any farther)
What gives it away for me is the length of each shot, any genAI video I've seen always has like 3-5 seconds of clips one after the other like why are all the shots so short in this trailer?
Catly: A Cat Open World MMORPG with Beautiful Cats, Hyperrealism, Actions, Cuddle, Speed, Islands, Fashion, Dreams, Snow, Robots, Plants, Taxes, Skiing, Farming, Story, True Crime, Astronomy, Cooking, Space Travel, Third Person, Action, Fashion, Cats, Shooting, Racing, Dreams, Employment, Grocery Shopping, Dating, Reality, Education, Life, Death, What Lies Beyond The Veil, Horror, Thrills, Plantly, are you even still reading this, Buildcrafting, Creativity, Sandbox, Adventure, seriously why are you still reading, Romance, Excitement -- all with and via Cats.
I don't even get why. They couldn't spend five minutes writing a game description themselves? It's like these AI bros feel they HAVE to use AI whenever possible. Fucking hate AI and anyone who uses it
What really threw me off in the trailer is the part where the cat falls down the stairs. It's so floaty and looks so wrong, no cat would ever fall like that
Squarespace uses generative AI and seems to not mention it in youtube sponsor scripts depending on if they believe the creator/audience wouldnt be receptive too it. Ironic that this video dunking on AI (rightfully) is sponsored by it :')
I think i heard the AI in squares pace ad read once recently. I now wonder if that creator added it in themselves or if they hanged the scripts to not mention it
AI or not it looked visually incoherent. Even when it was first shown it was suspect. Having the cash to get a prime spot at the game awards, for a bunch of industry figures to promote it, to pay someone to turn seemingly AI designs into an animated trailer and show nothing else about it.
Let's be honest, it takes a specific type of ineptitude to market a game about cats this poorly. I've never seen the internet unanimously say "Ew, no thanks" to anything cat related so hard. They could have used video of REAL CATS and just put the game name on screen at the end with a 'coming soon' and people would have been 'quietly optimistic for the cat thing.'
"I was playing my copy of 'Back at the Barnyard: Slop Bucket Games' for my Nintendo DS, but something was... off. Otis looked like a Hyper-realistic Cow. He spoke my exact name and address. Thinking this was a glitch, I kept playing."
Can't believe we have gotten to a point where we cant trust the visuals/trailer of a literal game people will buy and play. Thats like buying clothes online that are blurred out. Its all one to show some of these visuals in very early development by saying these are your inspiration but using them to ADVERTISE a game that looks nothing like it is insanity. We are being catfished and scammed at every turn.
The trailer seems less ike AI generated and more like the scene outline was generated by AI, especially with how disconnected the playroom seen rapidly transitions to the owner scene
This is my line of thinking too. Could just be poor direction but it cuts around so much with no focal point that it reminds me of the same way the AI Coca Cola ads from last month were put together. Imo it definitely feels like they had AI generate a version and then redid everything with actual models to avoid the usual mistakes/uncanny valley, and so they could say it wasn't made with AI lol.
They used AI to generate a bunch of 5 second-long clips, put them together then took those clips and remade them with actual cat models and proper backgrounds. They didn't change the color palettes though, hence the barf inducing flashy colors. Basically they had zero idea how to make a trailer so they used AI to show them "directions".
Genuine rule of thumb is if anything has “ly” in its name, ……it’s gonna be made by a soulless corporation who has no vision besides making a fortune, Updateee Ion wanna be corny but wowi this popped off
there's never been an era bigger than now where people are saying "f**k you, die" to artists. it hurts so much. so many artists including myself have stopped sharing art and have drawn a lot less because of these Ai bros destroying creativity, destroying our morale, and destroying the earth.
The Steam tags are community generated. People can just add anything, famously like every Paradox Grand Strategy game has the Hentai tag because of a community meme.
8:20 people tend to put joke tags on steam games - its why soundpad (a program that lets you play sound clips over your microphone, which is a godsend for games like tf2) has/had "NSFW," "dating sim," "survival," and "psychological" in its user defined tags
@Most-sane-deltarune-fanNope, that is not a prerequisite. They can just be flooded for trolling reasons. Such as when anti-wokes temporarily forced Avowed to be tagged as LGBTQ+ and Political because they think it's a "woke game" despite not being out yet.
At this point even if it has nothing to do with Ai I doubt I'd ever try it as the game itself just burns my eyes and gives me a sense of uneasiness. It's just so empty looking despite the random assets and bright colors. The entire situation feels so weird I still cannot believe it got on thr game awards. Also as a former braces warrior: good luck with them! The lisp definitely goes away and dental wax is your best friend to prevent any tearings or cuts in your mouth!

What makes Catly so suspicious to me is that it follows the naming conventions of modern tech companies, ie “word + suffix” If Catly wasn’t a video game name, it’d the name of some garbage app or tech product
Yes, I rolled my eyes so hard I almost pulled a muscle when I saw it was called "Catly," then when I saw their last project was called "Plantly" I almost had a stroke. "We'll name it Catly, you know, like Lunchly! That Mr. Beast is successful, must be because of the name!" So stupid. it should be illegal to as a company lie about your use of AI. I've been thinking about this a lot lately because I want to watch anime legally, but crunchyroll has used machine translations before and I don't want to pay for that shit but there's literally nothing I can do. If I email them and ask "do you guys still use ai translations for the less popular shows were you think you can get away with it?" but nothing's stopping them from just lying to me. Ether I give money to a shit company and also I pay more than I would have a few years ago for a worse service, or I pirate my shows screwing over the original creators
If you're against all forms of machine learning to the extent you boycott anything with machine translations, then you have to throw out the device you wrote that on and go live in the forest by yourself. There's no way to avoid that kind of thing. UA-cam uses machine learning to provide transcripts and recommendations so better delete your account here for a start. Your phone uses machine learning for face or fingerprint unlock, so better throw that out too.
True but that's extremly hard to enforce and it's not like legality ever stopped AI bros before. It's illegal to steal copyrighted material yet there are a large amount of stories of companies using things like youtubes manually translated closed captions, stock photo websites, news articles, stack overflow, github repositories etc.
Honestly, the most uncomfortable part of the graphics for me is the cat having round pupils instead of slits. The galaxy eyes? Sure. Why not. But round pupils (esp in scenes where it’s bright enough that their eyes wouldn’t be dilated) feel uncanny as hell. Obvs the ai slop sucks but if the cats don’t look like cats then what are you doing 💀
like remember in the 80s/90s when games were seen as products first and creative works second? its that again, but the development team consists of a rish asshole and his pc instead of a team of passionate but chronically underpaid and overworked artists fighting to be credited for making masterpieces
Another aspect is that whenever something was uncovered that linked their past in crypto, they deleted it: scrubbed twitters, deleted linkedin profiles.
That's the smart move, people have a bad opinion about that. If your objective is to sell a game you don't want people associating it with something controversial

Izzy, it's sadly ironic that this video is sponsored by Squarespace since they also use generative AI tools for design and writing. I follow multiple creators who are Squarespace sponsored and it looks like they choose to include or not include their AI features in their script based on whether they think that creator or their audience would mind or not
My friend was genuinely excited about this after seeing the steam page and trailer. I had to inform her that my pal, a game as described here will never exist because none of these are decisions made by people. It's slop in its purest form, with an AI stink all over it.

probably bc everyone loves a good cat video no matter the age so these ppl try banking on cats always going viral to get attention and potential customers/players
I saw this somehow get a spot at The Game Awards. While I’m still not fully sure of the circumstances that led it there, it’s REALLY worrying to see AI casually gain access to big-name stuff like this.
@@Puerco-Potterwhether or not the “trailer” is ai is debatable, but it’s kinda obvious that MANY of the things used for this game’s advertising and overall presentation is ai
So, just something to correct Users can set game tags, so the game having Artificial Intelligence and Third Person Shooter in the tags is absolutely a group of people fucking around with it
One other thing to mention: "prestigious" is a very generous word to describe the game awards with. They're well known as a rather dishonest awards show more about marketing than anything else. At least for me, hearing a slop game got into TGA my first assumption is that they just give slots to whoever pays for one and don't do quality checks on said content.
Couldn't second this hard enough. Would be great if we'd stop giving glorified commercial breaks the gravitas of a Nobel prize ceremony. But as long as it's advertising to *us* it might as well be the second coming, right?
As a cat lover and an artist I think they absolutely used AI to design the cats. The animation was likely done by humans using a 3D animation software and they might have been modeled by humans, but the designs themselves reek of AI. In the original trailer, they all have that "over-rendered" look (reminds me of the Glasgow Willy Wonka website ngl). Same with the environment art on the steam page. It's a shame because a cat RPG could be really cool in concept, but putting the obvious use of AI aside, there's something really uncanny about the way the cats look, even in the original trailer with the hyper-realism and glossy eyes. Maybe that will improve in future builds of the game, but the development situation seems so shady I don't honestly have high hopes. If they'd just kept the use of AI out of it entirely, there'd be more integrity to the project and it would feel so much more sincere. My warrior cats-loving tween self is sighing dramatically at the waste of potential.
8:15 As it says in the screenshot itself, those tags are user-defined, meaning any Steam user can go into the game's page and "vote" for a certain tag, making it more likely to appear in the game's store page. So, because people picked "Artificial Intelligence" often to describe the game, that tag shows up.
Focusing on the trailers, I noticed the trailer looked AI by how many cuts it makes. The cats move a bit more than most AI videos, but they cut before any MAJOR movements happen. That and something feels very odd about the cats, almost like the cats have very dog-like movements. Regardless of whether or not the trailer was made entirely with AI, these creators don't seem to know how to animate cats enough to make them feel like cats. It also feels like the trailer and images have this thing AI often does, where it makes decisions based on what "looks good" but not what logically makes sense or would create a coherent aesthetic. It looks like somebody barfed up a mixture of glitter, Barbie, an odd futuristic + vaporwave sort of vibe I can't describe, and cats. The gameplay trailer seems to have a strange "we pick one color and vibe for this area and it'll be all you see" with little of the glitter from the first trailer, like the corn room and that orange-red room. It would look... alright... individually, but the idea is that they'd all be in the same game and would make these environments incoherent and nonsensical. I don't even necessarily mind the idea of a game made with these environments and aesthetics, but because it isn't made by a human it doesn't have the soul I'd want to see in this idea. Give these environments and animations the touch of charm and care only a human can give, remove the NFTs and crypto, and I could see these environments and aesthetics doing great. Especially if it was focused on wandering through a dreamlike world, like those dreamcore games, but with less of a focus on liminal horror and more focus on dreams and creativity. This is what I find to be the most depressing part about AI these days: sometimes it can generate images, ideas, or concepts that sound or look great. It's getting more and more hard to tell these days. However, it's still stealing artwork and ideas from actual artists, so even if you wanted to take these aesthetics the AI created, recreate them, and make the game yourself it would still feel a bit shady because you're taking the ideas an AI generated by stealing from artists. It's like the waste of an idea that somebody could've made on their own and pulled off better, but an AI got to that idea first by mere chance that it made something that was good using the mismatched, stolen puzzle pieces it was handed by lazy humans with NO creativity.
Not gonna lie, a dreamcore/vaporwave cat game would slap Like a liminal space situation through the eyes of an animal like some 80s/90s anime aesthetic with rich colors would be so cool
I genuinely don't care for the almost religious way people seem to talk about humanity as if it's some kind of essentially special trait. Anthropocentrism is mid. The actual problem with all this stuff is capitalism. Always has been. There would be no fundamental issue with a machine that just makes things that look like other things... If not for the fact that artists are basically forced by the economic system to monetize and monopolize a particular style or concept, because if they don't, they starve and some massive corpo will vacuum it up and exploit it for profit anyway. Without capitalist incentive structures pushing people into buying into the "private ownership" of ideas, these would all just be fancy little pattern generators that take advantage of pareidolia to entertain people with the patterns they see. If artists didn't have to commodify their art to compete for attention and subsistence, the notion of "stealing" or even "owning" ideas would be laughable.
The fact that generative AI got so so ubiquitous, easily accessible and way better than ever is really frightening. You literally see it everywhere. Especially on social media. And it's pissing me off so much because there's so many issues and there's no regulation. Hoping we won't get to the point AI will literally take the jobs of people... Oh wait, that's quite literally happening before our own eyes.
the animated parts are absolutely not AI, as an animator i can say that with a 100% guarantee. However, the artwork on the cards at the end is ABSOLUTELY AI. You can definitely tell they modelled the cats in the trailer from AI references, but the animation is very amerture and the models are too consistent to be AI.
THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO! Here in Mexico a few outlets covered this, and somehow the "developers" managed to gaslight many people into believing the game was truly not Ai. Seeing how in Latin America gaming journalism has an even worse reputation than in the states, the players probably just wanted a gotcha moment. So thank you for exploring the truth!
@@readyforchanged3600that is another story. But the trailers are most likely 3d rendered, same with the game models. They seem to be cutting corners with AI, even the trailer seems AI storyboarded. But the game itself (the models and UI) looks handmade.
As much as this AI slop irritates me, I am glad to see that the internet’s disdain for and suspicion of AI “projects” has remained the same. Never stop being suspicious of stuff like this. I am so glad that it seems at least some people can easily spot AI “art” just by that weird fake look it all has.
the number one way you can always tell if ai is used, at least in text form, is if they use the word ‘embark’ anywhere. embark is such a classic ai generative red flag. i picked this up when people would use ai to write their posts advertising minecraft servers because it’s always ‘join the server to embark on an adventure, embark on a quest,’ yada yada yada. like come on now, you’re all sounding the same!
I wouldn't use this as the sole indicator, though. 'Embark on an adventure' is just an extremely popular phrase in general, especially for games, and always has been. If the description contains other words frequently used by AI then sure, but on its own? extremely unreliable imo
Even if you don't have a cat yourself, you can look up any videos of cats walking taken at a side angle and it'll be very clear that they do not walk like that. In the trailer, they walk like a dog. Cats have a precise method of walking called "direct registering." Their hind paws fall inside the place of their forepaws, minimizing noise for hunting.
Also, I don't know if you like Garfield or anything, but I live next to the creator's hometown! A lot of places around here, even my high school, have tributes to him and signs up on the roads. If you're interested, I could get some pictures or some of the landmarks/signs around here! :P
The worst part is that just know that they can't resist crypto-fying this even if they launch it without. "Wow our cat game is successful!? great! let's launch NFT litterboxes."
The screenshots at 10:49 and 10:50 are literally from Second Life lmao, I'd recognize that cat model anywhere, they are called "Kittens" (very creative) and can be raised and crossbred for rare genetics like fur patterns and sold for real money
This is it, this has to be the whole angle. 'Breeding' cats that have rarity to enhineer a secondary market like CSGO skins or some shit but each cat is also an NFT
Honestly, has anyone associated with this company ever shipped anything? My guess is that this is 100% vapourware. Like, they _want_ to ship a crypto-NFT-AI-MMO but I don't think they have the staff to fulfill those dreams.

tbh even if somehow it wasn't AI it just looks like ass to me with the way it looks, would probably be a flop either way anyway if people want a good cat game play 'Stray' as its genuinely amazing or 'Little kitty, big city' if you just want lighthearted fun
Stray and Little Kitty are great, but what else will you play if you have completed both ? I was many years ago a big Tomb Raider fan, and I have bought nearly every similar game that was available just to play something similar ... no matter if the other games was just mediocre.

When I start seeing claims like that I automatically distrust them. The more specific your apology/defense becomes, the more I think you're up to something and trying to cover your ass /gen
There’s absolutely no way they didn’t get all of the designs through ai generated images and then made their own trailer just to deny the claim. That fluffy cat with the galaxy eyes is foul looking I’m sorry.
@yabber-dabber-doo At least there was effort put into the dragon one. She'd made quite a few really cool concepts for it and seems like she had genuinely wanted to make it.
My theory is that it’ll either die or be disappointing. Regardless of ai the trailer wasn’t honest about the gameplay. Or even the way the cats look in game. Also I believe steam has a rule that you have to be honest about the use of ai in game. Witch is why it might tag itself as artificial intelligence anyway.

the jumping around starting and abandoning projects and companies is a huge red flag. it's giving high profile crypto rugpull. if it ever comes out, i can see it going the way of other similar tech bro games: perpetually in beta and quickly unofficially abandoned to make a move towards the next potential boatload of cash.
yea i feel like this game would end up on that "web3 is going just great" site (and later mentioned in passing by youtubers like jauwn) for being a rugpull
For anyone that doesn’t know in sonic 06 they had a big engine problem where some scenes would look like more gameplay cut scenes while other ones would look ridiculously super realistic yeah that’s the vibe I’m getting 11:02
Here's my theory: Catly is a concept for a game trying to merge the cute cozy aesthetic with NFT-bro slop to attract both players and investors (though, I doubt their plan will work.) To attract players and investors (mostly investors..) they payed a ton of money to secure a spot in the game awards so a large audience would see their game. Except "Catly" doesn't actually exist yet, so the people behind the project just generated a bunch of AI slop images and hired a 3d animator to make a super vague "trailer", which didn't have any valuable info about the game because, again, it doesn't exist yet. Then, after people were complaining about the lack of actual information about the game, the creators likely grabbed concept art from Plantly and combined it with beta footage from Alien Meow to give the illusion of an actual game... but it's not. It's just reused assets from other games. I assume that one of three possible outcomes will happen: 1. Catly releases and it looks nothing like the current media being shown 2. Catly releases and it *looks* accurate to the media, but the actual gameplay is nearly nonexistent and theres NFT / blockchain crap everywhere 3.
The only thing I can say with cofidence it's really AI are the post images in 3:31

I'm flashing back to Markiplier ranting "Where is Honey getting the money?"
Because of the trend that mascot horror games followed for a while, where they would release one good chapter, and then a bunch of merchandise, I do wonder if the ultimate goal with Catly is to get people just excited enough about it that they're willing to buy something adjacent to it. Probably NFTs if that's what the company is used to working with.
Maybe they think they can take the preorder money and disappear? There was a clothing business that did something kind of like that. They changed their business name shortly before they closed, and it caused problems for people trying to do charge-backs for stuff they never got.

Calling a studio that supposedly doesn’t use AI “Super Authintici” is like calling a shady, back ally bike shop “Super Absolutely Not Stolen Bike Store”
It’s like in the Gen II Pokémon games, where Team Rocket’s base is hidden in a souvenir shop called “Just a Souvenir Shop Nothing Suspicious about It No Need to Be Alarmed”
bro’s company name was ai too
My theory having worked for an animation studio, I have a theory that the animation was (poorly) outsourced.
Someone said the cat's animations are dog movements, not cat movements, and now I can't unsee it
it’s poorly made but i don’t see this, it just looks like someone with no grasp on the key fundamental of animation made low quality cat animations.
I disagree, but not bc I think they move like cats. If anything, I noticed more that 80 percent of movements were just cats *falling off* something lol so there's not actually a lot of complex animated movement to analyze (Maybe to hide shit animation)
yea i dont see it
It reminds me specifically of the animation of the dogs on paw patrol for some reason, but not actual dogs? Not sure how that works.
Cats land on their feet, and the eyes are not cat eyes. Cats do a weird twisty in-air thing to land on their feet.
The giveaway for me was the weird pink strands from that one larger cat
"at least the toddler is sincere" is gonna live in my brain forever i fear
As someone who works a lot with xgen (What is often used to simulate hair and fur on 3d animations) the way the fur moves looked quite off to me like that was not a human in charge of making sure it moved right. Also the weird lighting, way too fast camera shots (perhaps because it started melting going any farther)
What gives it away for me is the length of each shot, any genAI video I've seen always has like 3-5 seconds of clips one after the other
like why are all the shots so short in this trailer?
yeah i agree 100%
Maybe the trailer wasn’t AI but that steam description totally was

This is my line of thinking too. Could just be poor direction but it cuts around so much with no focal point that it reminds me of the same way the AI Coca Cola ads from last month were put together.

Not gonna lie, a dreamcore/vaporwave cat game would slap
Like a liminal space situation through the eyes of an animal like some 80s/90s anime aesthetic with rich colors would be so cool
It's even in the sponsor of this video. Sqaurespace advertises "AI Tools" on its tools page.
@LuigiDOTexe what kind of AI, though?
Don't forget the disturbing s*xual stuff people have been using AI for. Picking photos of actual people and using them for nefarious reasons.
'ChatGPT, can you recreate the Nintendogs theme entirely with meows?'
*unholy noise agglomeration starts*
'Ah yes, perfect'
the animated parts are absolutely not AI, as an animator i can say that with a 100% guarantee. However, the artwork on the cards at the end is ABSOLUTELY AI. You can definitely tell they modelled the cats in the trailer from AI references, but the animation is very amerture and the models are too consistent to be AI.
13:08 the fact they call this cat an exotic SHORTHAIR is sending me. What where they thinking 😭😭
as one of many who were working during the game awards and just skimmed through the livestream after, thank you for your service
So you didn't see this game, or only saw a bit of it?
Some of those cats are giving painter who has never seen a cat but was told to paint a cat.
I don't see how it could be AI, the models are too consistent and interact like 3d models would
@@Puerco-Potter The advertisement images and steam page are absolutely AI
@@readyforchanged3600that is another story. But the trailers are most likely 3d rendered, same with the game models. They seem to be cutting corners with AI, even the trailer seems AI storyboarded. But the game itself (the models and UI) looks handmade.
@@Puerco-Potter typing this just shows you didn't even bother watching the video. You look like an idiot.
Id love to play an open world survival game where you play as a feral cat that has mechanics like hunting prey and fighting other cats.
12 year old me thought this was what cat simulator was gonna be lol
As much as this AI slop irritates me, I am glad to see that the internet’s disdain for and suspicion of AI “projects” has remained the same. Never stop being suspicious of stuff like this. I am so glad that it seems at least some people can easily spot AI “art” just by that weird fake look it all has.

The Ubisoft Petz games has nothing on the original PF Magic Petz games.
the number one way you can always tell if ai is used, at least in text form, is if they use the word ‘embark’ anywhere. embark is such a classic ai generative red flag. i picked this up when people would use ai to write their posts advertising minecraft servers because it’s always ‘join the server to embark on an adventure, embark on a quest,’ yada yada yada. like come on now, you’re all sounding the same!
That's actually a bit worrisome, especially where things like all of Nintendo's next big video games are concerned.
the fart noise added to the end of the trailer 😭
I didn’t know I needed a critical response to an AI open world cat mmo but it turns out I did
It's so funny how companies will post ai images as if people can't always tell it's ai
And then they’re the ones getting upset….it SCREAMS
Except people have started slinging that claim at anything they think looks bad for literally any reason, so it's kind of losing all meaning.

The worst part is that just know that they can't resist crypto-fying this even if they launch it without. "Wow our cat game is successful!? great! let's launch NFT litterboxes."

LOL
The screenshots at 10:49 and 10:50 are literally from Second Life lmao, I'd recognize that cat model anywhere, they are called "Kittens" (very creative) and can be raised and crossbred for rare genetics like fur patterns and sold for real money
This is it, this has to be the whole angle. 'Breeding' cats that have rarity to enhineer a secondary market like CSGO skins or some shit but each cat is also an NFT
Omg I can see the fur lagging my computer from here
Honestly, has anyone associated with this company ever shipped anything? My guess is that this is 100% vapourware. Like, they _want_ to ship a crypto-NFT-AI-MMO but I don't think they have the staff to fulfill those dreams.
catly: haha AI looks so good, they won't even notice!
everyone: god that ai looks awful
catly: what??? ai?? we're not AI !! haha how could you think that??
everyone: bro. we can tell - are you - tHAT CAT'S FOOT IS MORPHING INTO ITSELF, WHAT DO YOU _MEAN_ IT'S NOT AI???
tbh even if somehow it wasn't AI it just looks like ass to me with the way it looks, would probably be a flop either way
anyway if people want a good cat game play 'Stray' as its genuinely amazing or 'Little kitty, big city' if you just want lighthearted fun
Stray and Little Kitty are great, but what else will you play if you have completed both ?
I was many years ago a big Tomb Raider fan, and I have bought nearly every similar game that was available just to play something similar ... no matter if the other games was just mediocre.
Geoff Keeley would have a snuff film on the game awards if they paid
Any artist can tell that AI was definitely used for this "game"
The picture at 13:15 has so many things wrong with it lol
It's just too smooth and I swear the fur blends into the background in many places-
18:59 its that frutiger aero style, but if it had the colour scheme and minimalistic blandness of windows 11 meets meta. thats the look.
omg this literally looks like a nightmare version of sims “alpha” cc LOLL
the SECOND i saw the trailer i was like. oh. oh this is gen ai . 100%. it was just so jarring because i immediately searched it up and there was absolutely NO info online. the website had Unbuyable products that just looked like "virtual fashion". The cats also just look. so much like nfts. incredible. i was so confused. the black cat with the orange hair has cursed my life since i saw it
6:00 "Our company/project has never issued any blockchain currency and any NFTs. Our company does not and has never owned any blockchain currency and NFTs."
Notice how they don't say _anything_ about future plans, though? That's a really overspecific dementi.
The steam description sounds like someone typing in an Ai Prompt. How fitting.
Wake up babe science based 100% cat MMO dropped
im gonna cry the 100% science-based dragon MMO reference
@yabber-dabber-doo At least there was effort put into the dragon one. She'd made quite a few really cool concepts for it and seems like she had genuinely wanted to make it.
@@SlicerJackie real. kinda inspired me ngl
LMAOOO
My theory is that it’ll either die or be disappointing.
Regardless of ai the trailer wasn’t honest about the gameplay. Or even the way the cats look in game.
Also I believe steam has a rule that you have to be honest about the use of ai in game. Witch is why it might tag itself as artificial intelligence anyway.
it didn't tag it, the tags are decided by steam users.
You see the answer is simple, the Game Awards are not prestigious at all, despite what Geoff Keighley wants to believe

the jumping around starting and abandoning projects and companies is a huge red flag. it's giving high profile crypto rugpull. if it ever comes out, i can see it going the way of other similar tech bro games: perpetually in beta and quickly unofficially abandoned to make a move towards the next potential boatload of cash.
yea i feel like this game would end up on that "web3 is going just great" site (and later mentioned in passing by youtubers like jauwn) for being a rugpull
For anyone that doesn’t know in sonic 06 they had a big engine problem where some scenes would look like more gameplay cut scenes while other ones would look ridiculously super realistic yeah that’s the vibe I’m getting 11:02
I remember that. I got hard whiplash in that game when it would go from rtx 4k pre rendering to real time game engine cutscenes
Here's my theory: Catly is a concept for a game trying to merge the cute cozy aesthetic with NFT-bro slop to attract both players and investors (though, I doubt their plan will work.)
To attract players and investors (mostly investors..) they payed a ton of money to secure a spot in the game awards so a large audience would see their game.
I assume that one of three possible outcomes will happen:
1. Catly releases and it looks nothing like the current media being shown
2. Catly releases and it *looks* accurate to the media, but the actual gameplay is nearly nonexistent and theres NFT / blockchain crap everywhere
3. The Catly project is canceled with no statement from the people creating it
"hyper-realism" *shows squidward with hyper realistic blood*
