- This song was a hit for Harry Nilsson in 1968 and was popularized by being part of the soundtrack in the movie Midnight Cowboy. Written by Fred Neil... it's been a long-time favorite of mine.
After 25 years of marriage, one day my wife said "whatever we had, it's not there anymore" and left. The loss and being alone was hard to accept. When I looked in the mirror, there was no one looking back. And the lyrics of "Everybody's talking at me but I can't hear a word they're sayin' " was my life for a long while. When you see someone wandering the streets, they may be lost in the echoes of their mind.
I had the pleasure of performing with this gentleman last Sunday in Exeter, NH for the Steelpalooza Show, which featured three pedal steel guitar players! Memorable... thank you Rick

@@rickwatsonoriginals Beautifully played/sung! One of the BEST covers I've heard, AND an outstanding recording. You can always tell when a musician is playing a song that they feel truly passionate about (as opposed to just going through the motions with the songs that the general public EXPECTS to hear us play). Everybody's Talking has always been a personal favorite for me also. Wasn't sure at first, but after hearing this, I'll definitely be adding this to my repertoire!
Also, on a unrelated note, what is the electronic box on the stand behind you? Looper station maybe? Vox FX?

Wonderful playing excellent voice I've always loved this song my dad did too my dad passed away a few years ago and now I think of my dad when I hear this song he never hurt this version but it sure would have liked it! Peace brother
