This is EXACTLY how college is like in the UK! We were all a mix of all four characters but the younger you are the more you were Jay and Neil, then the older you got the more you were Simon and Will
In our school if we asked to use the toilet during lessons they would say "You should've gone in the break" like you can control it to that degree and 75% of the time the toilets were looked during break times anyway.
In normal lessons it's nearly always allowed in UK schools for students to ask to use the toilet and be allowed. It was only in exams would it ever not be considered, especially as in this example, Will had already been many times in a a short space of time. As there was a potential he may have reading material in one of the cubicles Gilbert obviously didn't trust that he wasn't going to be trying to cheat.

I remember telling a teacher in primary school I wasn't feeling well she ignored me and made us stand up to practice singing for the Christmas play, I vomited all over the two girls in front of me, still remember everyone screaming and it dripping off their hair.
Teacher wouldn't let me go to the toilet in primary school, I was bursting for like an hour and pissed myself 😂. That teacher got sacked that day when my mother found out, ah good time's.

I'm 40, a kid we went to school with shit himself & to this day over 30yrs later hes still known as shitty Dave 😂 I dont think he minds tbh hes been called shitty for so long lol
