In Britain you start to get served in pubs around the age of 16-17. I think its abit stricter now than it used to be but we have (so do most of Europe) a relaxed attitude around alcohol compared with America. I think its a big miss for 18-21 yr olds to not be allowed in bars, clubs and pubs.

It's definitely a bit more strict, Half of the pubs would ID me at 18, with a calm demeanour you can get served a few times without a fuss.
