I love my M10 rye. Ironically it has the exact barrel code you said 23H2895. Never had anything to compare, just gonna enjoy and be grateful that I found a bottle of it at msrp
Glad I stocked up in 2018 & 2019 as I feared that this day would come. Price creep & availability from popularity plus quality drop as 12 year age statement was relegated to the side of the bottle then gone completely. Looking forward to more of your informative content.
Love your videos, Cameron. I bought a couple of Kroger EC private pick barrel proofs: (1) an 8 yr 119.9 proof, and; (2) a 9 yr 113.8 proof. The neck pours of both were full of ethanol and thin, not in a watered down way, but in a not thick mouth feel way. But as the bottles breathed and my palate adjusted, they became very creamy good. I plan to buy at least one more, as there are plenty available at my Kroger. Cheers 👍😎🥃
Thanks for the honest review. I'm definitely looking forward to the ECBP bad batch blind. It would be interesting if one of those batches becomes good or even great while in the company of inferior, but similar, bottles.
You and a couple of previous UA-cam reviewers stressed the spiciness. I've had it and I simply don't get the overly spiced you're talking about. I did a 4 way blind with 3 other ECBP releases, a couple being store picks. (none of the four were C923 BTW). The other 3 were all spicier than A124. I did get that, what you call "grassy" note. However. it didn't finish last in the blind. I will say the taste is unmistakable, and it is extremely easy to pick out in a blind with other ECBP releases. Ive had several previous year releases and A124 is definitely different from any previous one I've had. Nevertheless, I would buy another at MSRP, but not more.
i bought a private select single barrel Elijah Craig but it isn't labeled A124 ... do they ever issue a "AXXX" as a private selection with a different label? Proof is 118. Thanks for any insights....

Cam. Thanks for the heads up on this release. I’m in Phoenix and saw A124 for $90 and passed. Good decision. Let’s hope the B batch is better.

Glad to hear this A124 review as I think they have been hitting Michigan this week. Sounds like a hard pass as I really hate that grassy note as well

I just picked up a Michters 10 yr rye J barrel and it is phenomenal!!

I was hoping that the A124 would be a hitter. Oh well. Lets hope the B and C batches are better.

Nope that letter/numbering system is for the batches as far as I know
My m10b 23a wasnt impressive.
B521 is horrendous. Absolute drain pour.
