No, they should have freedom. And it's not that the EU doesn't do it all again. Luckily they didn't accept the euro. Unfortunately, we Italians did it. I hope for the Italexit. Hopefully. 🇮🇹
Really? The Lira was so down that you had to pay millions to buy a small car. The currency was so weak and economy so bad that ITaly was in fact bancrupt, the only thing that was flourishing in Italy was the Mafia. I don't. They were warned. I'm not even sad for the people who voted remain. Because the turnout in total was so low it was obvious that not enough people were thinking this was serious. They made their bed.
After 6:52, when Welke said, „Pull the plug on the island and then piss off yourself” you said, it wouldn’t make sense (or at least I assume that’s what you were talking about). It got lost in the translation, because “Stöpsel” means a plug for a sink or bathtub. So, he’s basically saying that those people choose to sink the Island and pissed off.
Most people I know are still in shock that you “brexited”. When I heard it in the radio while driving, I was so devastated that I had to take a stop. It feels like loosing a very good and valued friend. Still unbelievable. 😢

Ok i guess the Sailboat joke passed you. The german navy officer sailing school ship, the Gorch Fock, a 3 mast cliipper, was sitting in dry dock and was gettiing refurbished at the time. the whole thing blew up as major scandal, as the defense minister was involved in a major corruption scandal with the company that refurbished the ship and took like 6 years longer than neccesary.
The sailboat is the Gorch Fock, a school ship of the German navy that was due for an overhaul. That overhaul famously went massively over budget. It was overhauled from 2015 to 2021 and instead of the initially estimated 10 Million Euros, it ended up costing 135 Million. During the six year overhaul, it went through three shipyards, one of which went bankrupt.
In 2018 I was in a Train from Cologne to Aachen and met a Legend of British Punk there, TV Smith and his wife, who were on a Tour of Europe. We talked a bit about Brexit and he was very opposed of Brexit. Brits who need to travel freely over European Borders like him would suffer immensely from the added complications and costs that leaving the EU would entail.
Actually, all the debates in the HOC were aired live on our public news channel Phoenix, and John Bercow with his "ORDER… OOORDEER… OOOOOORDEEER" became quite a celebrity. ;)
Brexit was really stupid that this happened. I hope that we all, including the British themselves, have learned not to rely on other voters. I heard from a British woman who said. "Oh, the majority is against Brexit, we'll stay in the EU!" And well, unfortunately the majority who were against Brexit were probably all of the opinion that enough people would already vote against Brexit and so they didn't vote. It's a shame that this is now the case! I would be happy if you were part of the EU again soon!
There were interviews with british people who were very "normal". They just believed the promises of better business and better healthcare which were all over the media.

I´m really sad that the UK is not part of the EU anymore. I lived in London during the referendum and it was such a shock to hear the result on the radio the next morning. I left the UK in 2019 and Brexit was one of the main reasons why. As an EU citizen, I just didn´t feel welcome in a lot of places anymore. That was really upsetting because I love the British people. I´d honestly love to move back someday but it´s gotten a lot more difficult to do so.

I am still sad and also angry that the UK voted for Brexit. I was like "the fuck, are you crazy?!" Tja, and now you have the sad outcome of it which was honestly forseeable for everyone who would not fall for the constant lies of the Brexiteers and also for, I am sorry, people with a brain. It was such a backward step, it was jeopardizing the countries future and it was a perfect example that you can't go back in time. The "golden times" of the empire are over and I had the feeling that the Brexiteers could not accept that. And then the aftermath of it! That the UK really thought that the other member states would give them everything they wanted as a leaving present, just because they are the UK had such an arrogant touch that I was with every EU hardliner in that case. It had such a touch of cherry picking, it was downright arrogant. Also, it was dumb. Everyone knew that the EU member states could not give in on certain things because it would have opened a path in which every state would just demand and do what they wanted. That cannot happen in a states union. But apart from that, the worst was, how UK-people said that they want no part in European affairs, that they are no part of Europe, blablabla. I was like: What??? You are of Germanic origin, you have an Anglo-Saxon, Viking, French, partly German heritage. Your own Royal family is mostly of German decent, the Royal houses' name was German before WW1, since the day William the Conquorer won the battle of Hastings you were part of the continental affairs (latest!), you had huge lands in France since the reign of Henry II and fought an extensive over 100 years war to, guess what, win the kingdom of France and you of all people, have nothing to do with the continent??? Your (great-)greatgrandpas fought on the fields of Flanders, a lot of your ancestors died on a WW2 battlefield, your troops had a Rhine Army after the war and then the whole continental lot is not yours to care for? I am sorry, I had and have to this day zero understanding for that attitude. And as we can see now, it brought you no luck whatsever. It was a dumb, backwarded decision. And it was so forseeable! Sorry to be harsh but that is how it is.
1:15 I mean, none of my friends from the UK voted in favour of Brexit but the majority of people did, so it was definitely the typical Brit voting in favour (although it was split down the middle). Thing is: they didn't vote for it bc they're bad people or just plain stupid. That's a dangerous way to think. It ignores the issues that lead to events like this and takes away people's responsibility to check themselves. People were lied to, people were duped, frustrations were abused, as were fears of foreigners (whether it be immigrants or us Germans supposedly taking the UK's freedoms) and false promises of salvation made. I know it's a very different thing but Hitler came to power supported by the people. It's very easy to say about that conflict that it happened because mustache man bad but the reasons were complex and the warning signs were there early. That coup was 15 years in the making. And likewise, stuff like Brexit isn't just stupid people voting. I know it may seem far fetched of me talking about Hitler in a Brexit context but what I'm getting at is that we learn that any person, good or bad, can make absolutely atrocious decisions if given the proper reasons (whether real or fake). 3:30 Might also just be an example of what happens when populism comes to power. Nothing much. Populism doesn't need to make sense or have a plan, it's supposed to be in the opposition and just rant, so people can have a protest vote. So when they actually do come into power, it's all scrambling to get anything done that makes sense. 6:00 Yeah, I believe it is a German brand (I mean, he did imply as much, so I guess it's true). They started out some 10-15 years ago as maybe the first company to make Haribo style sweets that are vegetarian (made from milk instead of pig skin/bones) and now have the largest selection of vegan sweets in most German supermarkets. Also yeah, we love that stuff, too. Although I prefer "Grünohrhasen" (virtually the same thing). Ferkel means piglet btw, just fyi. 7:25 Pretty sure she added "bye assholes" there in the end, although they didn't subtitle it ^^ 11:05 I mean, I did get an ale recently and it did taste terrible but it didn't taste any different to me than any other beer that is commonly on offer, lol (I hate the taste of beer). From what I've heard people say, it sounds like ale is a bit more viscous, which is surely odd if you're not used to it. But I honestly don't know shit about it, so don't take my word for it. Just to add my personal thoughts on Brexit: it hasn't changed my life in any way that I have directly noticed (yet...we'll see the next time I have to compete in the UK) and I personally didn't hear that much about it during the entire process but as someone whose ideal world is one of global peace and cooperation, seeing someone so close, culturally and geographically, basically go "fuck this and fuck you in particular" is certainly disheartening and honestly just sad. It wasn't annoying, it didn't make me angry, it was simply just sad.
As funny as the video may be this is not the whole story. In German "Kabarett," it's always laughter that is stuck in the throat. The UK made a scene with getting a deal or not and deliberations over discussions over votes that was awful to watch. How can a modern and sophisticated society NOT understand that you can't have it all - you can't eat the cake (having all the positives of being in the EU) and have the cake (having all the positives of being independent). There are always trade-offs. But the UK wanted it all and was doomed to fail. I'd rather have had the UK stay in the EU because unity makes us stronger. The "Deal" deliberations were to us a really prolonged "Trauerspiel". The English translation of "tragedy" doesn't completely get the German meaning. It was sad to see how the whole affair unfolded and trudged along. And the longer it took the more of a laughing stock the UK became. And that made many people here in Germany even sadder than before. German political "Kabarett" is brutal - to everyone. Look for Volker Pispers here on YT. He was a master like Dieter Hildebrandt before him (sadly most of his shows were before the internet and are not easily available and he was rather focused on Germany - his "Scheibenwischer"-show about the Rhine-Main-Danube canal was not aired on Bavarian tv because the Bavarian government was so pissed about his criticism).
I will never understand how the british people could want the Brexit! We are one great european Family and because the brexit now one child is lost and missed. I wish you come back in the arms of mother Europe. 🤗
Precisely - Germany thinks of others as children who need to be ordered. German-dominated eurocracy made EU into space where free people and nations have difficulty to breathe. I despise this Kulturtraeger mentality (proven wrong many times in reality) and I hope for cooperation of sovereign countries.
No reason for "Fremdschämen". Guess it wasn't your preferred outcome but you'll have to live with the consequences. Anyway, I still love Britain and respect Britains for supporting Ukraine while our sleepy Olaf delays decisions.
No-one in Britain is arsed about Europe outside of London. Most Brits are tired of saving Europe from itself tbh...so merry British Independence Day! :D
As the UK has no toilet paper production, A German toilet paper producer sent a truck-load of toilet paper as a gift to the royal household well in time before Brexit - a friendly gesture just in case....
The English, I deliberately don't say the British, have much more in common with the Americans than they think. Among other things, the undrinkable sewage that they call beer. My deepest sympathy goes out to the Welsh, the Scots and the Northern Irish. I would immediately welcome these 3 countries back to the EU in the event of independence. But a country that cheats Germany at a World Cup (1966) I personally would never let back into the EU. 😂
About British beer: After it left my body the natural way it tasted better than it tasted drinking it and still has the same temperature. Greetings from Bavaria
Many jokes and punchlines are incomprehensible to non-Germans (and sometimes neither translated nor explained), especially in combination with the pictures and caricatures. And the "English lesson" can probably only be funny for Germans...! 😂
Dear Englishmen🇬🇧...you are our cousins from the island. That's why we like you more than you like us. There must have been something in the story! But you sometimes make really stupid decisions🤡🤪. Must be due to lukewarm beer🍺. But I'm sure you'll be back..🫂🇬🇧🇩🇪🇪🇺
About the sailboat. The Gorch Fock was sent to repair in 2015. For the complete overhaulwere 10 million estimatet. In 2016 the dockyard found additional damages and they calculated the costs to 135 million. Repair was set on hold. Investigations for corruption and infidelity inn 2018, the dockyard went insolvent, another got the task. Ship got to another dockyard The old dockyard was bought by another one. The ship went to another dockyard. Thew finished the ship in 2021 for the costs of 135 million. Then it came to protests by enviromentalists because of illegal cut teakwood. estimated damge for the tax payer for the corruption and infidelity alone: 28 million.
No need to apologize for the UK taking that long to leave, we sure got tonns of luaghs out of that so we´re good. Best wishes from Germany. Sidenote: yes, your beer is trash and only the north america has even more shitty beer than the UK.
I think most people in the EU were just tired of those discussions back then. I know I said more than once back then Just leave, you voted now go! Still think they should have stayed but hey... It is what it is. That said I don't want you back. This whole circus just showed me it's not worth it... We'll never be good enough for you.

The new taxes made my classic leyland mini and my mini based kit car spare parts so damn expensive...and private sellings of a bigger item is nearly impossible (I bought a used metro turbo engine with tank, gearbox and all anchillaries in england throur a facebook group for used mini parts....and shipped it to austria...it takes 2month to make it happen....and cost 1400 euro tax and shipping...the engine cost 1000....so ... 2 month and 140 % of the value of the item.....)
The funniest joke here"peaple of the Saarland call saarlafisten" 🤣🤣🤣 Its funny cos of corse the Saarland persons not are salarfisten . I dont know what exactly salafisten are , but i know its anithing evil.
the Britains belong to Europe, but not to the EU. EU has to make special agreements for UK and UK was never really happy to be in the EU. Now they have left and I am happy about that. Maybe Scotland can come back to EU and Nothern Ireland will make a reunion with Ireland. England and Wales may stay out. People from there can ask for a work permission in Europe an come here. Hopefully other countries like Hungary may leave the EU too. Would be a great day for Europe.

7:25 Pretty sure she added "bye assholes" there in the end, although they didn't subtitle it ^^
11:05 I mean, I did get an ale recently and it did taste terrible but it didn't taste any different to me than any other beer that is commonly on offer, lol (I hate the taste of beer).
I get my news from the Heute show. It’s brilliant
I'm happy the Brits are out. It strengthens the EU. They behaved like spoiled brats.
Great comment and explanation! 👍
@@monikadear3594 Thank you💛
Greetings from Duisburg Germany🫶🏼❤
The trooth is, we love you over there but were to proud to cry
We germans have humor. Now it's proven. Heute Show in German TV at it's best.
You seem to be such a nice guy. Bleib so, wie du bist!
1:17 yeah these are the same people shouting: "in 1939 we stood alone"😂
I will never understand how the british people could want the Brexit! We are one great european Family and because the brexit now one child is lost and missed. I wish you come back in the arms of mother Europe. 🤗
Precisely - Germany thinks of others as children who need to be ordered. German-dominated eurocracy made EU into space where free people and nations have difficulty to breathe. I despise this Kulturtraeger mentality (proven wrong many times in reality) and I hope for cooperation of sovereign countries.
Dangit, what an incredibly naive and ignorant comment.
No reason for "Fremdschämen". Guess it wasn't your preferred outcome but you'll have to live with the consequences. Anyway, I still love Britain and respect Britains for supporting Ukraine while our sleepy Olaf delays decisions.
Yeah, Brexit was a huge mistake. This is coming from a former EU opponent.
In my heart, Britain will always be a brother.
In Germany we say: “You have to be able to laugh at yourself.”
Nowadays the whole world is laughing at Germany.
Its fair enough
No-one in Britain is arsed about Europe outside of London. Most Brits are tired of saving Europe from itself tbh...so merry British Independence Day! :D
the british voted... and i was pissed. not really a good desicion for all of europe.
Prost (German for "cheers") - but she said Prostate instead 🤣
About time that youve discovered the german black Humor 😅
You took the embarassement very well 😉
If u liked this Video, u should definatly watch "heute Show (this is what breit really means) imo the best Part of the brexit theme row. ❤
We weren't annoyed with you, we we're sad that you left:( I thought we were one family
Hope you come back one day, we miss you
As the UK has no toilet paper production, A German toilet paper producer sent a truck-load of toilet paper as a gift to the royal household well in time before Brexit - a friendly gesture just in case....
I’m astonished you come out so late with this video…😂
I am so sorry for the Brits ... Brexit no good! :(
The English, I deliberately don't say the British, have much more in common with the Americans than they think. 😂
About British beer:
After it left my body the natural way it tasted better than it tasted drinking it and still has the same temperature.
Greetings from Bavaria
Hope someday you people decide to be in union again. Wish all the best then.
Can anyone recommend a beer from Great Britain that is available in Germany? I would like to try British beer.
You have a veeeeeeeery goooooood taste.
I love the heuteshow
We keep your European star packed away for you, if you ever want to come back.
😂😂😂😂
You are absolutely right, beer from the island is not terrible, it's delicious. I mean, the IRISH island.
Please come back!
Many jokes and punchlines are incomprehensible to non-Germans (and sometimes neither translated nor explained), especially in combination with the pictures and caricatures. And the "English lesson" can probably only be funny for Germans...! 😂
Diese Kommentarsektion ist nun Eigentum der BRD.
You are still right in the heart of Europe and the UK, France and Germany are kinda like the Triforce of "The legend of Zelda" (nintendo game)
historical speaking.... no!
English bitter is really tasty!😊
Ship got to another dockyard
The old dockyard was bought by another one. The ship went to another dockyard.
Thew finished the ship in 2021 for the costs of 135 million.
Then it came to protests by enviromentalists because of illegal cut teakwood.
estimated damge for the tax payer for the corruption and infidelity alone: 28 million.
As a Brit, that must be really hard to watch…
If you don't speak German and don't know German politicians and what they stand for you only geht a glimpse of the jokes. 😂
graphics best :D
i had english beer once the dark one (guiness?) i could not finish it xD its so disgusting xD
That's Guinness and it's Irish ( part of the EU)........ any more English bashing like our terrible French Fries or horrible frikadellen?
Why oh why did you leave????😢
we're German - course we don't have any sense of humour :-) But we love you anyway 😀
Ya let's all admit it, you have to come back. But this time because you really want it. We all Miss you Guys, cmon lads
We'll never be good enough for you.
aw come on who did the subtitles: Hängebritten = Hanging brits
Dude we like the Brits because they are Sax and Angeln
The Brexit is a very sad thing 😢. I know some nice people on the island.
But maybe GB will come back to EU. But under the conditions of the EU
Hate the brexit! The new taxes made my classic leyland mini and my mini based kit car spare parts so damn expensive...and private sellings of a bigger item is nearly impossible
(I bought a used metro turbo engine with tank, gearbox and all anchillaries in england throur a facebook group for used mini parts....and shipped it to austria...it takes 2month to make it happen....and cost 1400 euro tax and shipping...the engine cost 1000....so ...
2 month and 140 % of the value of the item.....)
The funniest joke here"peaple of the Saarland call saarlafisten" 🤣🤣🤣
Its funny cos of corse the Saarland persons not are salarfisten .
Come back to Europe we love the British People
It was so brutal because it hurt so much you left.
