      There is a 4-years rule as well as a centuries rule in the gregorian calender.

      @@tckleemann2510 Julius Caesar implemented the Julian calendar in which they used every 4th year as a leap year. Later they realised that every 4th year isn't accurate enough and with the Gregorian calendar they implemented in 1582 they even stripped 10 days to compensate for the error and said that every 400th year is not a leap year.
      So the year 2000 was divisible by 400 therefore it wasn't a leap year even though it was divisible by 4.

      i was about to nerd out, went to the comments and the first one was about leap years xD every year divisible by 4 is one, BUT if its divisible by 100 its not, BUT if its divisible by 400 it is one again. works for a timeframe of 8000 to 9000 years until it has to be corrected again, if i remember correctly

    • @KaiHenningsen
      @KaiHenningsen 4 місяці тому +3

      The year is around 365.2422 days long. One leap day every four years gives 365.25, leaving out the leap day once a century gives 365.24, and adding one every 400 years gives 365.2425, which leaves an error of approximately 0.0003 days per year, or one day every 3000 years.

    Well, regarding that report that you pointed out as racist. It's a little more complicated than that. Germany has a history of having pretty good swimming skills taught to kids and thus we have these pools with waves etc that can be very dangerous to people that cannot swim very well. Unfortunately it is factually true that a large part of people from countries cannot swim well at all. For comparison sake about 90% of Germans can swim, but only about 48% of men in South Asia can swim and only 22% of women in South Asia can swim. Even thouse that can swim often have a lower proficiency than Europeans. Which is not really their fault. If you are from a poor community you don't have the same privileges to learn these things, because you gotta worry more about making money for basic necessities. The reason why it's considered a problem is, because Germany is the second most populat immigration destination in the world after the USA and we get predominantly people from these areas of the world with lower proficiency in swimming. This is massively dangerous because they might be used to less deep pool with no wave mechanics and they assume they can just go in to German pools no problem, and it causes a lot of near drownings and accidents. The lifeguards absolutely hate it, because they are responsible for the safety of everyone and people that overestimate their skills can easily drown. This is terrible for everyone involved and a massive problem.
    There is a general problem with swimming pools and migrants as well, as many of them come from countries with less women's rights and seeing women in Bikinis or topless is a problem for them and we have a lot of problems with that every summer. Some pools had to put up barbed wires on their fences and hire permanent security. This has led to some actual serious cases of sexual assault and a massive wave of anti-immigrant sentiment. Pools are a big thing regarding people arguing that migration has made our society worse and that immigration is more changing our culture to the immigrants culture than immigrants adapting to ours. How serious or true it is nobody knows anymore due to the sheer amount of online propaganda and censorship, but Germany has a big issue with it. It's always a fine line here between factual criticism of the immigration system and blatant stupid racism. It just generally sucks, especially for the migrants that come here, integrate, work hard and get lumped in with the actual problem causers.

    Seriously, again? Dwayne, just mentioning the origin of people isn't automatically racism. They were stating the fact that in that specific pool there were a lot of immigrants who couldn't swim. Maybe because the country they came from didn't have swimming lessons as a top priority? That is an important fact pool attendants need to know because otherwise they might not expect that many adults not being able to swim.
    So in this case noticing the background of a person can save their life and they can be glad the pool attendant didn't force himself to turn a blind eye just because he didn't wanna be seen as racist.
    Point out racism where it is, don't decry it every time the word "immigrant" ist used! (But since you're from the UK I understand where that's coming from recently).

    The report which said, that many immigrants cant swim, isnt racist, its just facts.
    Not every schoolkid in Syria or Afghanistan had regular acess to pools to learn it! :(
    They dont know a lot about the dangers too,
    so it easily happens that they drown . I heared of a tragic case in Bavaria where two african migrants drowned in a lake,
    because one tripped while walking along the lakeshore which was steep, muddy and directly deep,
    the other one tried to save him while both wore thick winter chlothes.
    both sadly drowned.
    somebody familiar with the dangers of drowning and wettness, would probably at least pull their chlothes of before attempting to save the other person.....at least jacket and boots..
    also, often parents who cant swim themselfs, let their kids bath unattended, be it in pools with lifeguards or lakes,
    when something bad happens, often they all need rescue because the not swimready adults try to save the kid in danger,
    and endanger themselfs.
    i think, we try so hard not to appear racist, that mentioning simple facts is often already to much to not be racist.
    But we need to acknowledge the facts, so we can make stuff better,
    and prevent people from drowning,
    for example by offering payed swimclass for not only the kids, but also the parents, and female only bathdays for those who feel uncomfortable learning with mixed genders around the pool.
    Because its important to save lives, that people learn to swim, so in case they need it, they wont drown while saving themselfs or somebody else.
    we have alot water in germany, shores, lakes, rivers, pools.. many opportunities where a simple wrong step can let you fall into the water...
    thats just not the case in Syria or such counties i guess, so in their country they didnt need the skill really a lot so its just logical that
    most africans dont learn it!

    • @LizzyLetsPlays
      @LizzyLetsPlays 2 місяці тому

      @@cutlers3618 well, as a native german, i know my language undertones very well.
      I think the narrator was perfectly on the fact side, with no undertone what so ever.
      the interviewer of course is another question, he asked with a voice which implied already to make fun of the fact he nearly drowned.
      But thats not even what makes the meme funny, its the guy didnt understand the question, or the danger he was in,
      asked, but you nearly drowned there didnt you? he replied yeah it was wonderful.
      i agree, people in danger to drown shouldnt be a subject to laugh about,
      and the interviewer did ask that way on purpose.
      but to be fair, these reports are mostly ment to be funny and entertaining, if i remember the narrator voice right its a "Spiegel TV report" like the ones about the Penny supermarket or the known Nazi criminal family "Ritter".
      these reports live, from the contrast of the really dry factual talking narrator, and the interviewer highlighting people who simply have something funny or shocking in their answers.
      they often interview hundreds of people and of course take the footage with the most potential to entertain.
      they make fun about everything and everyone who gives entertaining vibes,
      there are hundreds memes coming from such reports.
      if they follow the police around, visit a jail, or wherever these spiegel tv reporters appear.. like here in the public pool. they aim to make fun of everyone and everything the audience possibly could find entertaining.
      not to interview foreigners with language barrier, not to make fun of them, would also somehow be racist i think.
      no german is secure of these interviewers if the interviewed one is behaving in any way funny it will be squeesed out for profit.
      has nothing to do with the reasons why this guy didnt understand, or why he nearly drowned,
      and every german would have been asked with the same pun intended voice,
      because thats what these reports are about.. they ask hundred people, and the one funny answering person gets choosen for the report.
      my advice would be, watch the Spiegel TV report about the Penny Supermarket at the Reeperbahn (hamburgs red light district)
      there you can clearly see, the interviewer has this pun intending undertone,
      with everyone he interviews.
      of course one could agrue, that its not right to make fun of people, who maybe are not understanding, or drunk, or drugged, or having a rough day, maybe are mentally ill or whatever reason they give answers which are somehow weired or funny for "normal thinking" people.
      but this show lives of cringy , extravagant, dumb and weired people
      and i dont think they are biased who to make fun of.
      they do it to everybody who answers somehow entertaining.....

    Well, the guy trying to interview the camper in the traffic jam should have seen it coming for a number of reasons.
    1. Austria has you pay a lot of toll money for using their highways (you have to buy a sticker to use it), while Austrians can use the german Autobahn for free. When Germany wanted to introduce similar tolls, Austria sued...
    2. It is obvious that work on the main highways is mostly done during the vacation times in Germany, because they want to make it less attractive for vacation traffic. So the road you pay for to get to your vacation destination (often in Austria...) is full of construction sites.
    3. When it's hot in summer, or a lot of traffic (due to vacation...) they lower the speed limit for the main vacation routes, so you can't go fast on the road you payed for so you can go fast...
    4. (on top of the others I think this is the main reason for his reaction here) During traffic jams or high traffic during vacation times Austria closes its highway exits for through traffic (anyone but those with their final destination right there...others get heavily fined) so the people stuck in the congested, slow, expensive roads full of construction sites can not avoid the traffic by going around it on the smaller roads.
    --> That is why this guy is standing there instead of getting closer to his vacation destination, and why he reacts as he first did.
    ---> So when the reporter tells him that "it's his own fault for standing in the traffic jam", I was more surprised he didn't strait punch off the reporters head.
    I think he reacted quite restrained...😅

      Because the relevant minister was stupid and wanted different tolls for citizens and non-citizens. That's not legal in the EU. He tried to mask it by having Germans compensated from their car tax, but the mask was shallow enough that the courts didn't buy it. Everybody predicted that outcome, but the minister was too stubborn. Or maybe for him, the whole point was really treating Germans differently, so he didn't even try another method. I don't know.

    • @KaiHenningsen
      @KaiHenningsen 4 місяці тому

      As for works during vacation - I'd say that the extremely obvious reason is that there's a lot less traffic during those times (tourist traffic is only at the start and the end, and many fewer people drive for business reasons).

    A leap year is a year that has an extra day in the Gregorian calendar, namely February 29. This day is added every four years to ensure alignment with the astronomical reality of the solar system.
    The earth takes about 365.24 days to orbit the sun. The leap year was introduced to compensate for this small difference. In the Gregorian calendar, a leap year is inserted every four years, with the exception of years that are exactly divisible by 100 but not by 400.
    The leap year rule is: All years that can be divided by four without a remainder are leap years. This means that a year such as 2024 is a leap year because it is divisible by 4. However, there are exceptions: Full century years are not leap years unless they are divisible by 400.
    The leap year has no direct impact on everyday life, public holidays or the economy. It merely serves to adjust the calendar calculation to astronomical reality. The leap year rule ensures that the error in the calendar calculation only adds up to a full day after three millennia.

    Please take in account that shows like "wife swap" are completely scripted. People that participate in such shows didn't even know how they will be pictured in the show. They very often had been forced to make big drama out of nothing. I wouldn't believe any of the "incidents" you can see here.

    You do know artifical sweeteners are a great way for overweight and diabetes? So Coce Zero or Light are pure poison just like all sodas in genreall? I haven´t drunk soda in the last 15 years, it´s just heavily sugared water with some traces of what is suppose to be taste. Good water has more taste than soda and if you need taste: make your own darn ice tea, it´s like 5 times less expensive than buying and you can make it low sugar and make it taste how you want and you know what? Ice tea tastes so much better when the taste isn´t overpowered by sugar and so much more refreshing and thirst killing. As a brit shouldn´t you agree with that kind of approprittion of tea?

    • @cantinadudes
      @cantinadudes 4 місяці тому

      @@klarasee806 you can find the empathy in comment sections of the full video. But the meme is just the "ich hab garnix gemacht" and most people dont really know the context behind it

    • @klarasee806
      @klarasee806 4 місяці тому

      @@cantinadudes I know the meme. It’s not new. And even at the time when it was new and I did not know the context, I did not laugh at all because you can clearly see that he is not well.
      Thanks for your effort. You don’t need to explain the meme to me. I am not dumb, I just don’t think it’s funny. At all.
      If I was this guy, this meme would make me feel incredibly sad, maybe even ashamed (hopefully not!) and unwelcome in this country. You can clearly tell from the way he speaks that he was not born here. I would feel terrible if I was in a foreign country, got attacked, then filmed, and everyone laughed at me on the internet just because they think the way I tried to explain what has happened to me was funny.
      But I guess it’s worth it because some people had a nice giggle.
