Wow, this is a very well put together video. I'm really impressed. The tone is great and you are a good player! But the recording and editing are great too!
Interesting, I don't think I've been compared to Lynch before, but it's a nice compliment, so thank you. The Valvulator isn't designed to change the sound, it's designed to ensure that what comes out of the guitar makes it into the amp. There's likely very little it's doing for me in this clip since I'm not using pedals, but with a pedalboard, it's a great device and also powers your pedals. Check the Fryette website for more info.
Thank you. I had the UL before the D60 and while I loved it for lead playing, I couldn't get the rhythm tones I wanted. The D60 with the D412 was just what the doctor ordered, plus I've been leaning towards simple amps the last few years or so and the D60 is about as plug and play as you can get.
Yes, straight into the Valvulator and to the D60. There is a slight bit of delay and reverb on the solo added in the mix so that everthing sounds like they're in the same room.
@MikelCW86 Awesome! Looking forward to some D60 videos from you. By the way, I absolutely love the Deliverance cabinets with this amp. I have the D412 but the D212 is a smoking cabinet, and one I will likely add to my setup in the future.
@knikk77 I like KT88's: they really tighten up the sound, make the lows punchy and give clarity, headroom, and an overall raunchiness (in a good way). I've noticed when cranked they get a slight octave-up fuzz sound.
@richedie An Ernie Ball Volume Pedal works really well, and Seymour Duncan I believe makes a SpeedKnob for installation on guitar. You can also get a mod for the "Less/More" switch to make it foot-switchable. It does take pedals better than most amps but you will loose sound quality.
@AnathemusVideos I don't know that what happened is what's really important. What's important is that the same quality amps that used to be labeled as VHT are now labeled as Fryette. None of the previous amplifier models are being manufactured by the company now using the VHT trademark, so there should be little confusion with respect to the amps.
If you want that level of saturation (i.e. MKIV), you'll probably need a boost either way. If I were to use one or the other for LOG tones, it would be the D60 because it's a very percussive, and reasonably tight amp.
It doesn't change it at all, in some cases. It's purpose is to keep the sound coming from the guitar true, so in the case of this video, since I don't have a big chain of FX, etc., it likely did nothing to the sound unless there's an impedence problem with my cable, etc. I'm a non-techy though, so I'd suggest jumping on the Fryette forums or calling them for more/better info.
I'm probably the wrong person to ask for an opinion on what's "better" than the Fryette/VHT, because I absolutely love my D60/D412 rig. The OD100 has a loyal folowing, so I'm certian it's a very nice amp, but that's about as much as I can tell you about it. Sorry I can't be of more assistance, but I haven't actually spent time with the OD100.
@Muscle462Memory I have not, but I did try the P50s in a high quality rear loaded cab and didn't like them with the UL or D60. Because I like the D412 with the D60 so much I really haven't found a reason to try anything else. For my taste they're a perfect match.
I'm not much of a pedal guy, but it takes to OD pedals very well. Theoritcally, you could use an OD and switch between crystal clean to high gain, however, whether the sound would be suitable since you would be boosting a clean sound to get to the gain, is a matter of preference. You could go old-school and just use the volume knob on your guitar. :)
@ElephantTank Ernie Ball Volume pedal I prefer. I used a really good OD pedal: the Fulltone OCD, and it really thinned out my lows regardless of EQ'ing or Depth =(
Greetings, Are you using the "more" gain setting or the "less" switch setting on the Deliverance? BTW, incredible tone & awesome playing, and killer guitar !
Does the Valvulator help restore capacitance from before it in the chain? I have a very long cable from my guitar, will the Valvulator help restore that as well as anything after it in the chain?
How do you like the valvulator? Does it even help restore signal loss from guitar cable, ie. signal loss before the valvulator is able to effect the signal?
"Different" is the term I'd use to compare them. All 3 amps cover a lot of the same sonic territory, but their voicings are very different. I'm not the best and describing tone, so I'd say you really need to play all three of them to hear the differences. Sorry I couldn't be of more help on that one.
Nice job, Bob. How well does it take Pedals up front? I play an Egnater Mod 50 and am looking for something else. I need to go between clean and dirty fast for our songs though. Is that possible?
@AnathemusVideos It looks like this company AXL basically stole the name and logo right from under Steve's nose. It seems Steve dropped the ball and his trademark/ copy right on the name expired and AXL bought it then they tried to sue Steve for using the name VHT that they now own. So since it would be such a hassel to try and get the name back (because he might not be able to he is selling (settling) and rebranding his stuff.
The playing is killer but I can't say personally I like the tone in this video. It does sound a bit spongy and lifeless for my taste or compared to the other deliverance clips!
The amp is killer. One of the best (if not the best) amps which I had opportunity to play so far.
Anti_Immigration YUP, I’m one of the lucky few that owns one!!!
I brought it to practice next to a Marshall JCM 900 & I SMOKED IT👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

Outstanding and thanks. I am looking at one of these and wanted to hear it. Thanks so much for a great video.
really great!
perfect quality of playing, sound and video.
Wow, this is a very well put together video. I'm really impressed. The tone is great and you are a good player! But the recording and editing are great too!
@GuillermoSmyser I agree! Great job with video and audio,,very sweet tone on all your vids!
that is some killer tone! I prefer this tone to the bogner videos you have. Just personal preference :)
Interesting, I don't think I've been compared to Lynch before, but it's a nice compliment, so thank you.

Very nice tone there... hell i should have not missed the Deliverance too since having getting a CL... now am gasing for one here ! haha
I'm using the More setting. Thank you for the kind words.
Thank you. I had the UL before the D60 and while I loved it for lead playing, I couldn't get the rhythm tones I wanted. The D60 with the D412 was just what the doctor ordered, plus I've been leaning towards simple amps the last few years or so and the D60 is about as plug and play as you can get.

That's funny! Never noticed that until you mentioned it.
@MikelCW86

@GuillermoSmyser
Very kind of you. Thanks.
I don't mess around when it comes to my playing wardrobe.
@knikk77 I like KT88's: they really tighten up the sound, make the lows punchy and give clarity, headroom, and an overall raunchiness (in a good way). I've noticed when cranked they get a slight octave-up fuzz sound.
I'm not a techie, but I believe that's one of the benefits of the Valvulator. Check out the Fryette Amplification site for specifics.
Probably very nicely.
The KT88 tubes gives a dry smooth middy sound.
Wow you changed shirts mid solo badass!!

Coincidentally one killer clip from this amp is your 7 string jam!
If you want that level of saturation (i.e. MKIV), you'll probably need a boost either way. If I were to use one or the other for LOG tones, it would be the D60 because it's a very percussive, and reasonably tight amp.
@MikelCW86
It's all a matter of taste. This amp will work well with down tuned guitars (I use a 7 string on occasion).
@MikelCW86
I'm a fan of the Duncan Custom. Haven't tried the Bare Knuckles pickups but I've heard of them and heard clips that sound excellent.
I'm probably the wrong person to ask for an opinion on what's "better" than the Fryette/VHT, because I absolutely love my D60/D412 rig. The OD100 has a loyal folowing, so I'm certian it's a very nice amp, but that's about as much as I can tell you about it.

It's been a while so I don't remember the specific person, but the drums are from somebody on the Harmony Central amp forum. I played the bass part.
It's a vacuum tube buffer and power supply (for pedals). I'm not using a boost on this clip, it's all amp.
@hampurilainenXXL
Thank you, it's just a little something I threw together for the demo.
@ElephantTank Ernie Ball Volume pedal I prefer. I used a really good OD pedal: the Fulltone OCD, and it really thinned out my lows regardless of EQ'ing or Depth =(
Both are Sennheiser; an E609 and MD421.
Grat Bob!!! But I would like to hear Bob Savage's great riff, LOL. Do you remember that?
Wow - long time MacMax. I do remember that and I still have the sound file. :)
@@ElephantTank LOL, how do I get that? nd I am buying your record, also, where do I do it?
@@Macmax7077 Contact me from my website... do a web search on my name, will be in the first page of results.
Whoops, forgot the guitar question. It's a Vigier Excalibur Custom.
ok thanks :)
Greetings, Are you using the "more" gain setting or the "less" switch setting on the Deliverance? BTW, incredible tone & awesome playing, and killer guitar !
Very nice tone there !!! nice solos as well !! very well crafted.... is that the raw tone of the D60? no effects or OD running infront?
Sick!!! Where can I get one? W'sup ElephantTank? Long time. Looks like you've been busy. Amp sounds keeler! Lets
This vigier excalibur designed is superv especially the maple top, except I hate it small size.
K Cheers. Have you ever thought about using EZDrummer, its a real good bit of software.
Very nice. Sounds yummy bro. What made you decide to go with the Deliverance vs. the Pitbull?
@nunmoreblak I do the same thing, when your focusing that much it shows :)
Does the Valvulator help restore capacitance from before it in the chain? I have a very long cable from my guitar, will the Valvulator help restore that as well as anything after it in the chain?

I don't use any effects in my chain, so really, I probably don't gain any/much benefit from the Valvulator. I use it for splitting the signal, etc.
Hey, Wat please could you tell me what you used for the bass, drums ect . Cheers
Do you think the d412 would sound nice with a mesa fifty fifty and a rocktron piranha ? I heard Vht's sound great only with their own amps!
Close, it's an e609 and an MD-421.
EL34 all the way for me. But maybe you could swap out the KT88 for EL34's? (with a re-biasing)
would you recommend more for playing stuff like lamb of god and heavy stuff in that area.. This or the Bogner alchemist?
The riff at :25 sounded like "Safe in New York City. =P
Have you tried any other speaker besides the p50e's with the Deliverance, like greenbacks or any others?
It's a Vigier Excalibur Custom
What about that Valvulator? Does it have a tube? Can I get warmer tube tone with that box?
does the valvulator change alot in your tone?
Bob, what kind of guitar is that?
Also, how do the Deliverance heads compare to say a Herbert or Uberschall? -Rich

@nunmoreblak
If you think that's bad you should see me walk, or talk, or ride a bike, or take a hike...
@nunmoreblak funny thing is, I have the same amp :P
The playing is killer but I can't say personally I like the tone in this video. It does sound a bit spongy and lifeless for my taste or compared to the other deliverance clips!
What brand of guitar is that?
Dustin Block It's a Vigier.
+Bob Savage hey Bob it's fat mike from the old la Kaos days! glad to see a couple of video of you and Johnny t and Gary! take care bro
You should totally make it legit. I especially like how it sounds like classic heavy metal rather than this Scandanavian deth-metal shit.
Take a look at sfdamp dawt com
Much obliged, bad*** guitar
