I'm always amazed at Jeff Loomis' ability to make other amazing guitar players look like they are just "pretty good." Killer track.

Jeff Loomis just seems to get better with age…always a treat to hear my favorite guitarist and personal God in action.

MORS fired andy? wtf!? wont be listening to them anymore. He was the lifeblood of that band. really i only liked the guitar anyway, lol. singing was ok, and drumming good. but

Why the hell did MPE let Andy go??? By the time MPE put out their album Seven, he WAS the band. His riffs, his leads, his synth/orchestral work, his compositions and arrangements. That sick guitar tone!! MPE's loss. The replacement guitarist has big shoes to fill in my opinion.

@@wesleytrott6397 Their first 3 albums didnt have Andy, and honestly, their best two albums (The Unborn and Liberation=Termination) were from that era.
As for the reason for the firing, was probably a combination of Andy not wanting to tour (his time not working on MPE albums was mostly working on solo stuff), and the original guitar duo (and bassist) being available to rejoin. Supposedly, Andy was also planning to make Seven his final album with MPE, and I suspect Ville wanted him gone ASAP once it was done so he could make the announcement that the original guitarists were coming back.
As someone who likes Andy's solo work better than his MPE stuff and thinks MPE's best albums were with the original lineup, I honestly think both are better off with the split (Andy just needs more attention and recognition for his solo work than he gets). I just think the way he was fired was shitty

Nice unison leads with keys/guitar, thrashy riffs, and 1:45 nice to see another guitarist who doesn’t forget to write a melodic recurring theme (something I think many modern guitarists omit). I’ll look forward to diving into your stuff!!
Agreed. Loomis joining Arch Enemy is like Dirk joining Megadeth. I mean, I get you have to pay the bills, but man, what a waste.

@@CatchReleaseRepeat Idk about Loomis and Arch Enemy, but Dirk is playing with one of his heroes, so there's that :D And from what I've gathered the next Megadeth record may bring in some of Dirk's stuff like blasting.. Loomis just feels completely unused in Arch Enemy in comparison

This riff could be from mors principium est! i was so shocked when Andy quit (or was knocked out from the band) All albums by MPE with Andy rule!
Tbh, I kinda prefer the two separate. Andy's best work is when he's allowed to do his own thing without trying to limit himself to the MPE sound, and MPE's two best albums were from the original lineup (which is back now): The Unborn and Liberation=Termination.
Not to say that his stuff with them was bad (it wasnt. At all), but as someone who got into them with The Unborn, I feel like there was always something missing from that era on Andy's albums with them.
The only shitty part is the way he was fired.
