It's very informative to see Nick pressing down the toe box to show the fit. I also have Novablast 2, so it's a good reference point to compare to other shoes tested in this channel.
Actually got a new pair of Novablast 2 today. I always have to order with a half size down with the Asics compered to Nike trainers. It was wide witch I liked and after 15 minutes running i noticed that the energy return started activating and a lovely spring of the Novablast. Possibly there's a better spring in these Novablast because I'm around 88kg/195lbs. Overall, it was better than expected!!!
Thank you for these excellent reviews and the different opinions in the same reviews. 99% of these shoe reviews online are positive cheerleading. It’s so refreshing to find honest and accurate criticism, even if I disagree with that impression. Fantastic!!
Fit to size for me even though I have a double A narrow foot. This shoe has turned out to be my favorite daily trainer, even a bit more enjoyable than the Mach 4 which I love also. The energy return is the star feature of the shoe and why I love it so much. Nice cushion smooth ride too. Squishy as opposed to the very firm ride of the Saucony Endorphin Shift which I also have. The Shift is a very stable ride and that is the top feature I like about that shoe. Good shoe also, but I prefer a softer landing. Thanks for the assessment guys.
Ran 30 k in them today and liked them a lot. Nice bouncy ride and they make your ride feel easier. Tried to go down half a size but had to return them for my normal size 42,5. It took me 40 k to break in the shoes. Novablast 2 compliment my Endorphin Speed 2 very well in my rotation (+a very cheap pair of Puma Velocity Nitro)
These shoes are super narrow and tight in the toebox even for narrow feet. Do not size down as some reviewers suggest as you will probably have to return them.
I had a similar sizing issue as Kieran. I actually bought both my normal size and a 1/2 size down to see what fit better. I knew from trying on the Novablast 1 that it ran a bit big when I tried that on last year (didn’t end up buying them). I ended sticking with my normal size as the 1/2 down ended up feeling too snug and I thought it was better to have it feel a little to big than too tight. I was really excited about this shoe, but i have to say i find it weirdly heavy. It feels heavier on foot to me than my Bondi 7, which cant possibly be the case.
Following the reviews about ASICS nova blast 2 I ordered a pair 1/2 size down=UK 7,5. Turns out the shoe is actually narrow and I’ve had to return it . Fortunately the same color was available in my actual size which is 8 UK(which is my nova blast 1 size).
Same. I just can’t understand people are suggesting a half size down. Maybe for bigger sizes but certainly not for UK8. These shoes are super narrow and tight in the toebox and I have narrow feet.
@@slorunner7086 same here. For a woman I have big feet I wear 7.5 and always was fine running in nimbus, cumulus and dynaflyte but novablast is too shallow in the toe box...so it s like something is pressing on my toes. About to order again but going half a size up. I really hope they will not be too big from everywhere else !!!
Absolutely loved the first version and has little issues with stability personally. They were really a stand out and a fun shoe, what I kept reaching for even with a great selection to choose from. Only needed to size down half size for a really good fit but I didn't like the laces as they seemed to cut into my foot. NB2 seemed more tts with better laces but very surprised how underwhelmed and disappointed I am in comparison. The ride just isn't the same and that's what made the Novablast the great shoe it was of 2020. This is a much different shoe and I'm not alone in saying this. For those who just couldn't deal with the first version because of instability perhaps this is better but then it's just a fairly average to good ride minus the fun factor. If you can handle the first I would say def pick one up before they're gone forever. Such a disappointment if they can't replicate that fun factor and ride in future versions. Always so very sad when you find your shoe and there's nothing like it but then they change it.
V1 - Same, Same but different shoes. The shoe with holes in the front has more bounce and longer laces, shorter toungue. (Size 11.5 Asics told me to get) Shoes with no holes, way less bounce, shorter laces, long toungue. (Size 11 wanted to see if I can run because less weight) It's like 2 different makers/materials are used.
Just looking at the comments here it feels like these are shoes you need to try on for sure. We've had a really mixed response to sizing up/sizing down. Seems to really depend on the runner more than other shoes.
that s so weird I found the toe box shallow. I got 7.5 as I always do and my toes have turned a funny grey plus they are very painful to the touch now since I ve upped the distance. They are ok running 10 to possibly 15ks but anything more than that and I m sore for the rest of the day. I love everything else about them so ordering again half a size up
Pretty damning reviews on the whole! I quite like my Novablast V1s. What are your top picks for soft, but not too cumbersome, shoes for moderate longer runs (eg 10+ miles)?
Between the NVB1 and NVB2, there's actually a NVB Pixel noise version which is the best of the 3. It solved the lousy fit/length of the 1 giving a racer fit and stays light and bouncy. What a pity no one reviews that or not discovering it at all. I'm totally enjoying them.
@@TheRunTesters Tq. Trust me, they're so good I stocked up 2 pairs. The original suffers from too bulky & hot upper and too roomy toe box . The Pixel Noise solved that by changing to thinner upper design and adding a midcage overlay layer giving a 'racer tight feel' fit. Wowww.. That was the first impression when I put them on.
@@livegreatalways but do they still run long? I went down half size and fit was perfect so I'm not sure what to go with if I did go for the Pixel noise? Asics tells me the same as in half size down in both regular and Pixel versions. Cheers
@@lpishere IMHO- The Novablast 1 & Saucony Endorphin Speed are superior. Especially the speed. That shoe is literally built for everything. Extremely versatile.
Had the Nike Invincible and was fantastic for the first 50/60 miles but after that started getting a bit of pain on my right knee. In my opinion Pegasus 37 best ever overall running trainers. Although I got a new pair today with the Novablast 2, well it a lot better than expected.

I was going to buy these but ended up getting the endorphin speed v1 and im glad i did they are awesome!

One of my favourite shoes
Im a 9.5 and usually buy a size 10 but for this shoe, i got a size 9 which felt more fitting.
The sole looks funky, I like it though.

I love my novablast pixel noise. The knit upper adds to the comfyness of the shoe.
*Upgrades!* 😎
Thank you.
Got this shoe this week in my normal size and it’s spot on. Actually maybe a tad small, but liking them so far.

Does the NVB Pixel Noise version fits true to size?

I hear it's rather noisy shoe? Is that so? What do you prefer for long runs, Nova or the Puma Velocity? thx! Great review.
It’s noisy as well with the hard outsole. Very slappy imo
Is Asics Novablast 2 heavier than Hoka Bondi 7? ( I think Hoka Bondi line is very heavy on my feet.)

In terms of easy/recovery runs - nothing comes close to the Nike Invincible
Believe it or not, Brooks Aurora-BL is better than the Invincible
