    I got my novablasts back in 2020 (I believe). I alternated between them and my hokas but they’re still the shoe I reach for the most. I’ll definitely be trying out the 2’s when I wear my current pair out.

    I have the Novablast 1 and I bought them in Dec 2020 for 70 USD. I have currently clocked 700km in the shoes. It is the best value-for-money pair of shoes so far. I use them for my daily and long runs. In terms of sizing, got the usual women's size (normal width) and they were perfect. Perhaps going up half a size would be better since I had some toe blisters on rainy days when the shoes seemed to have contracted a bit. I would love to get another pair in my rotation and I cannot wait to get the 2.

    • @limwowo5902
      @limwowo5902 3 роки тому

      A downside is that it's definitely not for intervals and hilly runs. The thick bottom makes it hard to balance when you are running fast or on uneven surfaces. But if you are just a runner like me who likes doing long, normal paced runs, I think they are really good for value.

    The new colour schemes on Asics site look absoultely gorgeous. A nice mix of mundane but attractive instead of screaming running colours of the old. I wish Asics would make a casual everyday shoe with this foam and a knit top in the colours they are offering this shoe.

    Thanks to reviews like these, this shoe is out of stock in all sizes!!! Companies should stop giving Kofuzi and others samples if they can't meet the supply and demand for a product. You no longer can buy running shoes at a retail price rate, instead, you have to overpay or can't find the shoe. And it's all thanks to UA-cam channels like these and these reviews he just keeps pumping. For him, it's a review for more clicks and views, and for us, it's a dire situation. If I can't wake up at midnight I'm screwed!! as these shoes, were sold in my size by 5 am in the morning when I woke up for work. But do you think Kofuzi or Asics cares? It's a screwed-up situation and Kofuzi ain't helping no one with these reviews, he instead is making those shoes less attainable for the "Non-Elite" runners as he so proudly labels himself. The guy is nothing but Elite at this point, he has first access for FREE to every shoe out there. Kofuzi would you pay $196.95 dollars for those Asics Novablast 2? Cause that's its retailing price at the moment. And you would be lying to yourself if you didn't think your reviews contributed to the situation, I just explained.

    Hi, which one (Novablast 2 ou Mach 4) would be better for long runs in terms of cushion/confort and breathability? and of course stability, for long easy runs is very important. Thanks. In the run footage I saw new hoka, nice video as always!!

    • @DrRx22
      @DrRx22 3 роки тому +1

      I own both and think the novablast 2 is better for long runs. Mach 4 is a fast shoe for me and not as well cushioned. It’s a great tempo or speed shoe and I’d even race in it but when I get to 8+ miles I prefer a little more cushion.

      @r.cordis8251 3 роки тому +1

      @@DrRx22 I have heard good things about the Nova 2 (not available here yet) but the stability is much better than the V1?, because long runs you get tired and starts to hit the heel down inwards. I am a neutral runner but this happens to me and would like a stable not heavy (as triumph) for distances over 10-12 miles. And the Nova 2 I think is a little heavy on my size US10? Thanks

    • @DrRx22
      @DrRx22 3 роки тому +2

      @@r.cordis8251 I didn’t get the nova 1’s but they had a 10mm drop, the 2’s are 8mm. I literally just ran 8 miles in them and had zero stability issues. I’m a neutral runner too and I don’t even notice the drop in these. The Mach 4’s seem less stable because they are lighter and have less material in the upper. The nova2’s aren’t light but they arent noticeably heavy either (pretty much kept my normal pace today). They are plenty cushioned for me (traditionally a heavier runner I weigh 180lbs now). Personally the asics gliderides had a better rocker motion for energy return but the nova’s are more comfortable in my opinion. Sorry I was wordy but that’s my opinion!

Wouldnt it make more sense to build training shoes that are more "marathon oriented"? Same dimentions as the Sky+ but lacking the carbon plate?? :) "Train with the shoe youre competing in,,,,used to....".
    Which is the same thinking of people in the firearms commnity who legally own firearms and use them for sport and home/personal defense. They believe you should "use" guns you train with especially for defensive purposes. Same ammo as well. Makes sense. Why not also for marathoners? :) Dont know when the idea of having a "rotation" of shoes started....did the companies market this idea? Did this start recently? After 2020? 2000?
    Nike I think only has one "marathon shoe....the Alphafly....the rest are "speed oriented" or "in-between (speed and marathon" (not quite either)...which I'd think would appeal more to non-runners. "Speed- oriented" shoes as well.... my 2 cents.

    One question about lacing a running shoe. I have very high arches and orthetics. So the runners knot is possible but leaves me with a tiny amount of laces to work with. But I have to be so careful. If I tie my shoes too tight it feels like someone hit them with a hammer after a kilometer. Any tips ?

      it's more on my left than my right. but it causes no problem, even when running 33 miles in them over the weekend. it tends to startle people when they see a shoe's foam compressing in slow motion. but that's what a squishy foam does. it squishes.

    I tried the Novablast2 in the store (treadmill) but ended up buying the Rebel2. My brief comparison is that the Nova is firmer and the Rebel spongier. I went with the NB because8 I wanted a soft ride. This is my first super-foam shoe. I'm doing most of my non-trail running in the FF Zante and Launch (started at 2, now on 8).

      @Leon 22 I don't know yet about durability.
      In hindsight, I would've been better off with the Novablast. The Rebel is too squshy for me. I prefer firmer. That works better with my powerful style stride. For me, I feel that too much of the power is absorbed by the squish. I think it works better for heel strikers. I'm a forefoot striker and there's not enough cushion for something that soft.

      @@kofuzi but watching how u run the foam in the rear and even the mid foot doesn’t compress at all so the foam in that doesn’t have any impact on running for. Have u tried doing a comparison with other shoes to see if u run faster at same heart rate or lower heart rate at same speed?

But it’s a much lighter, more nimble shoe and it has a lower stack height. For many people I think it’s a faster shoe but not as much of a long run shoe. I will probably mot be using the Rebel2 for my very long runs but it’s a blast to run in and so comfortable I could use it as a recovery shoe. Martha

    Take this with Massive grain of salt as I’m an incredibly mediocre runner at beat and have only ran in the novablast 2 once. But I’m debating on wether to use them again. They caused some discomfort in my arch and a hot spot in the mid foot . I also find them to be less comfortable and springy than the rebel v2 while feeling way heavier. Gonna get a pair very soon. Very excited about the tweaks. I have almost 700km in my Novablast 1 and still going strong and I think can extend 200kms more at least.
    I have used the version 1 for a bit of everything between tempo and easy or long run. As I rack more distance, it takes a bit more effort for those quick intervals but overall comfortable for the rest of runs. Compared to the Pegasus 37 (I find this one more reactive at faster pace) but very happy to have chosen the Novablast in its first iteration and with the second one, is looking promising.
    Thanks for the great insight
