Just want to say that this ride is come from Japan universal studio which is a family friendly park instead of targeting on teenagers and adults. The attraction will design for any ages. It's normal for them to make the kart being slow and interactive, not being a roller coaster
You spend more time in line than the ride, so the line has to look good. ( Avatar, Indiana Jones, etc. ) Wow, this line queue looks good. I'd almost hate to rush through it too quickly.
I’m glad I’m old enough to experience the rides of the past with none of the virtual crap. It’s sad to know that the amusement parks in a few decades will probably just be a virtual experiences only.
So basically Bowser challenged Mario to a multi-track race with battle mode. The track consist of 12 course themes that intertwine based on which path the racer takes. This likely due to having 16 racers competing, so at certain times the track separates 8 racers to a pacific course then merges them again in the next course
Looked like the issue was stacking (there were a ton of karts at the end of the ride waiting to get back into the station). If stacking is too great that it fills all the available blocks at the end of the ride, you'll see Karts start to stop mid ride (similar to what was seen here) until the blocks ahead clear. Once ops get a bit better, this should resolve itself (or they will just remove some karts to improve the timing).
I find it strange that they're using what looks like Japan's pre show footage at this one, and they're calling Bowser "Koopa" despite it being called "Bowsers Challenge" here. I know they call Bowser Koopa in Japan but it's weird they still said it during the pre show at Hollywood.
Great video, now I take back what I said about the AR on a previous video from a different channel. The AR quality is decent so in terms of the ride with AR I’d give it a solid 8/10

Looks great. But I'm a little confused about the queue, just the first half of it. It's all clearly themed to Yoshi's Island. Are they going to add Yoshi's adventure there later or was it just something they were going to add but cancelled at the last minute?
I have always been wondering with this ride, does the AR feel natural while on this ride or is it as messy as on all the onride videos with the AR included? I mean it’s super hard to capture the AR on video obviously but I’m curious if that’s the reason why it looks messy sometimes or if that’s also what you experience while being on this ride
The AR is definitely more natural on the actual ride, you can't capture the AR correctly on video because you're essentially shoving a phone behind the AR goggles which can't capture the orientation correctly.

This is cute & looks great, but it's all show and no actual action ( sure digital action 🙄). I know they have AR but I'm honestly tired of staring at 3D screens there & not having anything actually fast paced. I wish they had enough room to get real serious about Mario world. There should be cheep cheep water rides, Mario kart rainbow road coaster, Browser action dark ride that doesn't depend on 3D screens, maybe a spinning shell ride, Luigi mansion dark ride etc. If Nintendo wanted to it could make a fantastic theme park of it's own with many rides & interactive things. It's just a shame.
If they are able to fit the Donkey Kong coaster there that they are building in Orlando/Japan, that may appease you. That coaster will rely almost entirely on practical effects (and they have some neat little things planned for that ride).
