Hi Heidi! Thank you so much for your honest review! A couple tips that may help your viewers No.8 is unlike other conditioning masks as it is made to fully penetrate into the hair shaft and it wont sit on top of the hair like traditional masks so less truly is more even for extremely thick hair 3-4 pumps from mids lengths to ends then combed/worked through should still give you maximum hydration. We hopes this helps!

I just added this mask to my olaplex routine and I like it a lot! I did the number 3 treatment and then used the mask after and my hair was like butter 😍🥰 but I have long thick hair so I definitely wish it came in bigger packaging

Loved this! Thanks for taking the time to write in such detail! While I get to filming this, you may want to checkout my best hair masks of 2020 and 2019 which kind of answer your question. Of course I will still make this video because I keep testing out new ones all the time ! ♥️
I got this mask a few days ago, and it actually did better than I expected, not that I had high expectations anyways. It came out very smooth and nourished. Next time I use it, it’ll be after no. 3, I wanna see that deep repair. By the way, you weren’t kidding about 6&7 mixed together - they’re magic! 🙂
About to use this for the first time tonight and I’m so excited! Going to do how they recommend and use their whole line: 0+3, 4+5, 8 and finally 6+7 to style! I love knowing that in one night I can pack in a powerful reparative punch once a week! This time I’m gonna stick to only the Olaplex brand line to give it all the best chance to actually see what my results are after using only their products. But I think your review here is going to make me tweak this a bit and then next time I think I’m going to add a bit of my favorite deep conditioner to #8 to hopefully get my final result looking and feeling really extra fabulous! Thanks for all you do and sharing it the way you do 😘
@@heidiguttenberg OMG Heidi, I did it and I honestly can’t believe the results!!! So let me give you the run down, exactly what I did and in the order in which I did it. It did take the entire afternoon, but my goodness, that was definitely time SO well spent! Here goes: 1. Slightly dampened my hair with a mister filled with hot water. Figured that would help start the cuticles of my strands to open. 2. Put about 1/4 of a bottle of Olaplex #0 in a miniature spray bottle. Then put on a mask and concentrated spraying #0 at the mids and ends of the length of my hair, until saturated. Used up all that I put into the bottle. Doing it this way allows me 4 full uses, helps to stretch little bit that comes in this bottle. 3. Put a cap on and went under heat for 10 minutes. 4. Applied a decent amount of Olaplex #3 to the mids and lengths, as well as a little to the roots this time. I notice that ever since I added #0 to the routine I use a whole lot less of this product now that my hair is already saturated. Really does help with distribution. Combed it through and put in a loose bun at the back of my head. 5. Put a cap on and applied heat for 45 minutes. 6. Shampooed with #4 and conditioned with #5 as usual. I know it seems redundant, but I ALWAYS condition before a deep conditioning treatment, it’s just what my hair likes best. I have a decent amount of dry/damaged hair that this method works well for me. Towel dried slightly, wanted a good amount of moisture to help distribute the deep conditioner since it says to use so little. With my long hair brands recommended amount is child’s play 😂 7. Applied #8 but not the 2 pumps recommended, no that was not going to work for me, so I used 7 pumps altogether!! That’s what was needed to coat it all. Felt like my hair was drinking it all in. Started to worry this wouldn’t be like a traditional “deep conditioning” in the end. It’s not as rich as I’m used to. But I trust Olaplex so I combed it through and put it in a lose bun at the back of my head And hoped for the best... 😬 8. Put on my cap and applied heat for 20 minutes. Then I let it cool down to room temp for 20 minutes. I know it says 10 minutes but I almost always triple whatever timing the brand recommends. Rinsed thoroughly with cool/luke warm water. 9. I used Olaplex #6 in a tiny bead & 3 drops of #7 on my damp towel dried hair, with a few spritz of my other leave-in (Revlon Uniq One/Lotus Flower scent) and 1/2 pump of my anti-breakage oil (OGX Nourishing/Coconut Milk Anti-breakage Serum) and my 2 heat protectant blow dry sprays (WOW DreamCoat & Living Proof Perfect Hair Day Heat Styling Spray) comb that all through and finally add a sort of split end mender (DesignLine Mend The End/End Sealer) to the end of my hair, which I use all of on every wash day. I know I use a lot of products 😂 but I do use them all most sparingly. I’ve perfected the combination of products that my hair really loves and what won’t weigh it down. 10. Styled almost as usual... HOLY COW!!! I was able to skip using my STRAIGHTENER!!! I cannot even believe it! Blow drying alone was enough. My hair is smooth, shiny, light & bouncy, it has such a natural health appearance and the body? Man oh man is body & movement OUT OF THIS WORLD!!!!! Usually my hair is large and frizzy even after I blow dry it, so much so that I have to tame it with the straightener. But not today... It honestly looks like I went and got my hair done at a salon! It even almost looks as though I got a trim too because of how great my ends look!! I am in need of a trim, but you’d never know it today! I’m not even exaggerating one tiny bit! Even my husband commented on how great my hair looks and he never usually notices a real change after I deep condition. And he had no idea I was doing this test with using all Olaplex products today. I’m telling you, Olaplex is not playing around! They really do know their stuff! I’m so impressed!!!
Okay so I used this for the first time tonight and at first I thought I did something wrong. Maybe not enough product? Only because it didn’t make the detangling part super easy. But then once I styled it. IT FELT AMAZING. Great review! Would love to see a video with all the products being used like they recommend.
I have hair similar to Heidis, even a little longer, very long & thick bleached blonde hair, and my No.8 arrived in the mail today and I needed about 9 pumps 😅 I put on No.0&3 before as they recommend and left the No.8 on for 10 hours today and lemme tell you - never ever has my hair felt as amazing as after I rinsed it out & airdried it this evening 😍😍😍
@@mariannefk Hi Marianne, yes I have :) but without Shampoo or anything, just rinsing out the 0&3, then a few minutes with my hair in the towel & then applied No.8 & left it in a braid for ~ 10 hours (make sure it stays wet, to continue doing it's magic.. the same goes for No.3!!) Hope that helps :D 😘🦄
I have used it twice now and my hair really likes it. Certainly my hair feel smoother and more moisturised. I use first the no 3 and then follow up with the no 8. I keep both on for 30 minutes at least.
One of the most detangling mask i tried recently is the power mask from Lushs curl line. The tangles melted away. With the smallest amount. I never had a mask do that so well. I want to try the rest in the curls line. Especially the Glory mask. It’s more for moisture than protein like the Power. Aussie 3 min Miracle mask is pretty good for the 6-8 USD price tag and you get a lot.
I been using Giovanni products. Its also vegan..Since I shave my head back in January.. I love trying out new hair masks.. I hear that most hair masks makes your hair grow
Hi Heidi love your review the only thing I’d say is it’s kind of difficult to gauge how accurate a review this is when you haven’t washed your hair in days - it’s naturally going to look better after using! I would love to see a before and after over a month or longer of incorporating this product into your routine. Hope that makes sense - nonetheless a helpful review! X
Hi Heidi! I’m the one who wrote a dm to on IG when n8 came out! Thanks for the video, can’t wait to try it too! And of course I’m waiting for your entire Olaplex routine 😄 xoxo from Italy!
I love you Heidi! I bought #8 mask but haven’t tried it yet, was waiting to see your review. Thank you for being our guide for all things Olaplex! 🙂❤️🙂
That comb is popular amongst people with kinkier hair types (type 3c onwards). Not the olaplex version though. Just search for a EZ comb. It’ll be cheaper than olaplex. I was giggling the whole time you were using it.
I agree. I found 0 and 3 did more for me. I also noticed once I washed my hair the following time my hair would be better Bc of the waxy feeling the first time. May just need to wash out the mask and recondition it with normal conditioner to get rid of the wax feeling.
i'm supercurious about this bc my hair is DRY. you look gorgeous with wavy hair 😍 and i know you mostly focus on hair, which is really interesting content for me as i'm always looking for ways to improve my hair but i wish you'd make a make up tutorial for this look bc your eyes are stunning🤩
The directions say 3 pum ps for long hair... it does not need to be saturated. You should just be able to feel the slip in your hair. This info comes directly from Olaplex. I work at the Wholesaler.
I was hoping you’d review this! Thank you. I tried it and wasn’t blown away by the hydration either. But I agree that my hair smoothed out nicely and stayed that way through day 2. I think it’s a good mask if you don’t expect miracles.
bro this mask makes a HUGEEEEE difference, i have dry/really frizzy hair..i used it at night and let my hair air dry went to sleep woke up too smooothest nicest hair
Just got the hair mask after watching your review multiple times. Can't wait to try it! 😁 Couldn't make up my mind between Moroccan oil intense hydration and this but then chose this! 😁 Fingers crossed!
Used it for the first time today and air dried my hair after. I don't usually blow dry my hair so just air dried under the ceiling fan after some microfibre cloth drying. My hair has never felt so soft and healthy! Esp the ends! and my head seems so light! Amazing results!
There are enough preservatives and potent enough preservatives in hair products that you dont need to worry about contamination. Unless you pour some raw chicken juice into the container you are well covered....
I have short hair and I noticed that a little goes on a long way and I only used 3 pumps for my entire head! so while the bottles are smaller the products for me personally go a long way compared to using a big tub I feel I need more.
Lovely as always! Thank you! I wonder why you didn't use the no. 6? But so helpful I will definitely be adding this mask! I use the no. 3, 6,7 but definitely needed more hydration. The mask? I tried the K18 for 6 washes and the best. As for cost, it totals about the same as Olaplex & a great mask. But you can't compare the two. And like food I think the hair needs a good variation. Thus both Olaplex and k18 alternating seem to me the best of the best. My pros & cons; Olaplex takes more time & steps compared to k18. But both are excellent. K18- shampoo, k18, wait 7 Minutes & done. It says at least 4min but I leave it on at least 7min before continuing with other styling products. I use moroccan styling when using k18. And Olaplex 3,6,7 alternatively. Still on a lookout for the best shampoo when I use k18. The Bumble bumble bond Repair is great but still looking. Didn't think shampoo really matter but heard and see that it does. Would love to see the whole Olaplex routine and hear your thoughts on which products are a must and which are optional I'm your opinion. Also if you could do a typical week hair routine? Great to see how you decide on what you need for any given day! Your hair looks fab. But I for one do not want to buy all the products you try & also too much to think about. For me 3 lines would be max. So far 2 down. That's not to say I wouldn't try more but 3 at a time. Too much stock! Keke. Xoxo
(English; see below for Spanish version) Heidi, this tutorial came just in time. I bought the mask from Sephora a couple of weeks ago and was wondering what the best way was to apply it. Thanks to your tutorial, I'll be trying it today. I'll say YES, PLEASE to doing a full Olaplex routine that includes the mask and YES-YES-PLEASE to the battle of the detangling brushes. This one seems a lot gentler than the tangle teaser (I didn't see you pull out any hair from it, so it seems to be a good sign) (in my humble and unrequested opinion: throw it out, already!! Hahaha!!). I think it wouldn't hurt keeping the little pump plug even if the bottle has a protective cap; it may prevent the product from eventually clogging the tip. Your air-dried hair doesn't look bad at all! It gives you a romantic air. So if your hairdryer unexpectedly dies, don't panic, OK? I loved your "under-boob-length hair" definition for hair length. Go, Lady Godiva!! (LOL). I think you were very gracious about the neighbors' construction noises. And before I finish this lengthy rambling, I'll ask you to please do a hair-towel tutorial (the third I'm requesting here) of the VOLO Hero Microfiber anti-frizz hair towel. This is a new generation of microfiber hair towels that are superior in performance (and in price, alas!) compared to - for example - the original Turbie Twist, which I've had for years now - and the difference is undeniable. Gracias a tus instrucciones, voy a probarlo hoy mismo.
Abrazos virtuales, linda 😊
To small a product for the money. Try L'ange Borago deep cond. mask...it's incredible!! In one use I could feel the difference and the smell is divine! You get a large amount, too.
Sorry to hear that you guys are going into lockdown again. When I heard about this hair mask, I was excited then when I saw the 100ml size. I was not convinced. Olaplex is taking us customers for fools with that size. The Briogio don't repair hair mask is double that amount for the same price here in the UK. So I would buy that and keep using my Olaplex no 3.
Unfortunately, there are quite a few restrictions. Specially during the evening/night there’s a curfew. Not as bad as last year for now. Hopefully we won’t need more until more vaccines get here. But, I fear it will take a few months. Congrats to the UK. You guys seem to have figured this out and I hear are now enjoying the old normal ♥️
Hi Heidi! First of all thank you soso much for the review, I was looking forward to it! I was wondering, do you think it's worth switching to the mask if you are already using the Olaplex conditioner? Do you think it performs better? Thank you for the great content as always btw ❤️❤️
U just follow the Numbers! 0...for 10 mins or so (2 if u have it)...3....on TOP OF 0 for another 10 mins or longer if u want. Wash and condition with 4&5.....No 6 on towel dry hair mid length down or even half dried hair....then No 7 oil mainly ends but small amount all over if u feel hair needs it...continue blow drying how u like it. I use the red dyson with attachments...worth it, qvc did it on easy pay, so not one killer price otherwise I wouldn’t have got it! The diffuser is fantastic and gives me a wavy curl without heavy products or trying to curl bits at a time. Olaplex is very easy...just start at zero and do each number in order...but read the instructions if unsure...hope helps 🤟🏼
@@3SeveredHeads actually though you left out the most important #8 which this video features: the new mask, that is what is confusing, do you do #5 after #8 the mask? or do you omit the conditioner #5 if you are doing the mask ????
Gorgeous! In what order do you use your olaplex products? I currently have no 3 and this no 8 mask and wish to use both the same day, but don’t know in what order to do so.

if you have dry/frizzy hair. use olaplex shampoo or a hydrating one. and then this moisture mask i live it on for 15 and just air dry, and go to bed and you wake up with flawless hair
Heidi!
Oh wow I was so surprised with that multi comb/brush. That’s really cool ! I agree that the price is high ! I can’t afford it. I have thick Mediterranean coarse hair. I you need 8 pumps I think I’ll need 16. ❤️❤️❤️
Love it and your videos. Your hair is gorgeous. I use #3.... a different line on shampoo, then #8, I follow with living proof cond. After #6 and a serum. I may be overkill but just trying to stop the fried ends. Keep up with your great videos Heidi 🥰
For anyone wanting the brush in this video,I brought the exact one(minis logo) around a year ago for around £1.99 on AliExpress and you could probably also get it on eBay too,it came with 2 black bars that you push into the holes on the back to keep it in place.Iv still got mine but a WET brush is 100% better in my opinion 😉
Thank you so much❤️ i’ve been waiting for your review on this mask🤩 i find Olaplex conditioner not hydrating enough for my hair so i’ve been thinking what the mask is going to be like...based on your review i am worried i may not like it as i like rich products.. thank you always for testing the products first and your honest opinions on it❤️
Hi! Thanks for the video. Would you recommend no 6 or no 8 for major detangling caused by bleached hair? Thank you! ❤️ I also tried no 3 about 4 times now, it hasn't reduced the detangling issue that well yet.
Neither are good for detangling. 6 is great for frizz and 8 is good for frizz too. For detangling the best product is using a lamellar water after shampoo and before conditioner. Like L’Oréal wonder water. And a good hair mask instead of conditioner, and a good leave in conditioner spray to help detangle. My favourite is bumble and bumble invisible oil spray
If you did one pump at a time you would be able to saturate your hair if you section it off in 4 sections. when you pump all four pumps at once you'll only apply it to one section. Thats how you use less product in your hair.
I absolutely LOVE this mask and how it makes my hair feel! I used no 0 and no 3 as my pre shampoo treatment’ used my pureology strength cure shampoo and then the hair mask. Inalso used no 6 and no 7 to finish it off and oh my my dry damaged hair felt like freaking silk! It changed the quality if my hair so much! But my hair is pretty long too and i inly needed 3 pumps aha
I don't mind silicones in my haircare products, I try not to buy products with a high concentration of silicones or silicones high on the list verses the nourishing ingredients. With that being said, I watched your videos on Olaplex (all your videos lol) and I read reviews on Olaplex, through the internet. I watched your Olaplex 8 video, I have couple questions, Do you believe since Olaplex has a high silicones concentration in their ingredients, silicones are actually doing the most work by coating the hair and making it soft? Also, Since silicones or high in concentration do you think the nourishing ingredients can penetrate the hair through all the silicones used in Olaplex? Makes me curious about the Olaplex line. Makes me go hmmm lol. Thanks for another great video.
Hi Heidi, I recently discovered your videos and really enjoy them and find them very helpful. My hair is very similar to yours...friiiize!!!I have already tried a couple of products that you have tested for me 😁 and they have been really great. So thank you. I love to know what skin care products you use. I remember you once mentioned you love Japanese skin care products a , what are they, would you please let me know as my skin is needing a lot of love. Thanks Doris
Heidi,hi. Recently i asked my hairdresser to dye my hair a light grey and now it’s unfortunately messed up,there are split ends everywhere and it looks so unhealthy and dull.My hair means a lot to me and it’s one of my features i loved even though it was naturally dry.But now it looks so bad that it makes me sad even when i’m looking at the mirror and combing it.I’m going to get it dyed the next week to a darker grey but can you please recommend me some products that would save my hair quickly? I’m looking forward for your reply, thanks for your amazing videos ☹️💓
Don’t worry Heidi, I have slightly longer hair than yours and use twice or 3 times of the amount of the product you use :D I use lots of product but it does not work if all my hair is not saturated with product!
Can you also try wella professional products? Those are even more affordable then l'oreal professionnel range and they sound amazing too🤩😍 And if they work, they can be best for every day use❤
I like Wella more. Wella is outperforming Kerastase and l'oreal. I bought the l'oreal glycerol mask after seeing one of your videos, but it feels like a joke comparing to Wella luxeoil I'm using right now. However I have to admit that your hair looks great, so keep doing what you do. Blessings to you!

1. Best frizz controlling mask for air dried hair
2. Best frizz controlling mask for blow dry or which is heat activating

I have thick hair and 4 pumps of this product won't be enough!
I feel less alone now 🤣
I have hair similar to Heidis, even a little longer, very long & thick bleached blonde hair, and my No.8 arrived in the mail today and I needed about 9 pumps 😅 I put on No.0&3 before as they recommend and left the No.8 on for 10 hours today and lemme tell you - never ever has my hair felt as amazing as after I rinsed it out & airdried it this evening 😍😍😍
@@lenacayman873 yassss!!! I’m so happy 😀 Thanks for taking the time to comment this!
@@lenacayman873 have you washed your hair after using number 0&3, and after put number 8?
@@mariannefk Hi Marianne, yes I have :) but without Shampoo or anything, just rinsing out the 0&3, then a few minutes with my hair in the towel & then applied No.8 & left it in a braid for ~ 10 hours (make sure it stays wet, to continue doing it's magic.. the same goes for No.3!!) Hope that helps :D 😘🦄

I have used it twice now and my hair really likes it. Certainly my hair feel smoother and more moisturised. I use first the no 3 and then follow up with the no 8. I keep both on for 30 minutes at least.
Nice! Thanks so much for sharing!
Omg that comb is amazing!!! And yess do that battlle of combs please!! Besos bella!!
Will do! Thanks for being here Jose!
Stunning manicure! 😍
Thank you so much! My nails are longer right now and I’m enjoying them! The nail polish is OPI Funny Bunny.
Thanks for those suggestions!
I just ordered this mask at the Sephora sale. Can't wait to receive it. And of course we'd love an entire Olaplex routine!

I will research that brand! Thank you!
Thanks! I do my best. But I don’t need to wash it more frequently. It would do more harm than good to my bleached hair.
Hi Heidi! I’m the one who wrote a dm to on IG when n8 came out! Thanks for the video, can’t wait to try it too! And of course I’m waiting for your entire Olaplex routine 😄

100ml for a hair mask? 😭 Girl I'm gonna finish it in 2 weeks
I know!! It’s very concentrated though, I’ll give it that.
Same and my hair is shoulder length!
My hair is very long, I used 4 pumps, it was enough

Olaplex is very concentrated except for number 3 in my opinion. I just bought no 8. I’ll have to hide from my daughter.
Awesome video and the Olaplex No 8 looks very promising, thanks again for another great review Heidi xx
Thanks Beautiful! ♥️
That comb is popular amongst people with kinkier hair types (type 3c onwards). Not the olaplex version though.
Just search for a EZ comb. It’ll be cheaper than olaplex.
I was giggling the whole time you were using it.
😂 really?? I didn’t know! Thanks!
I agree with other posts. First I thought it felt waxy, but it blew out better than I could have hoped. Highly recommend.
Nice! Thanks for your review!

Siii, finalmente estaba esperando tu vídeo de olaplex 8.
Que buenooooo!!!!
Happy you were! Thanks so much for your review!!!
bro this mask makes a HUGEEEEE difference, i have dry/really frizzy hair..i used it at night and let my hair air dry went to sleep woke up too smooothest nicest hair
Thanks so much for your review Gausia!
There are enough preservatives and potent enough preservatives in hair products that you dont need to worry about contamination. Unless you pour some raw chicken juice into the container you are well covered....
😂 loved this! So true!

Same... Can't get enough of Olaplex‼️
I have short hair and I noticed that a little goes on a long way and I only used 3 pumps for my entire head! so while the bottles are smaller the products for me personally go a long way compared to using a big tub I feel I need more.
It’s highly concentrated. Happy you can use less ♥️
Keke. Xoxo
Hi Keke! Do you still alternate between Olaplex & K18?
Yes 💕 I've been waiting for your review on this!
Thanks 🙏🏻♥️
I'll definitely purchase this set later this week using your link :) I absolutely love your content
Great video!!! I have a question on no.8 and I cannot find the answer anywhere. After no.8 do you have to continue with the Conditioner ?!
(English; see below for Spanish version)
Heidi, this tutorial came just in time.
(Spanish)
Gracias a tus instrucciones, voy a probarlo hoy mismo.
Me encanta tu comentario Tere!!!

Generally speaking I go for masks more than conditioners. This is no exception. I think it does more for my hair.
Hey babes! Can we have the full Olaplex routine please, it is getting a big confusing 😅
@@3SeveredHeads thanks 💜💜 have a lovely day babes
@@3SeveredHeads actually though you left out the most important #8 which this video features: the new mask, that is what is confusing, do you do #5 after #8 the mask? or do you omit the conditioner #5 if you are doing the mask ????

What about silicones??? Heard it has them and perhaps not so good?
I explain what I know in more detail in the video.
Hi Heidi, could you make a challenge Shea moisture intense hydrating mask vs olaplex 8 ?
Nice idea!
Hi! Did you use the olaplex normal conditioner like normal after washing out the mask, or just the mask alone? Thanks :)
Just the mask.
If you did one pump at a time you would be able to saturate your hair if you section it off in 4 sections. when you pump all four pumps at once you'll only apply it to one section. Thats how you use less product in your hair.
Thanks!
My favorite UA-camr 💕💕 so beautiful !
Awwww 🥰 You just made me smile 😃
Do you use the mask instead of conditioner ? Or still use conditioner afterwards ?! 🤔
When I use a mask I skip conditioner.

Inalso used no 6 and no 7 to finish it off and oh my my dry damaged hair felt like freaking silk! It changed the quality if my hair so much! What's the difference between olaplex 8 and olaplex 0?
No8 is a hair mask. No 0 is like a No 3 booster. Does that help a bit?
I asked them and other haircare experts and they both replied they are like high quality soluble silicones. 🤷♀️
Lol I have shoulder length hair and need to use about 12 pumps of this stuff. Don't think I'll be repurchasing.
I understand ☹️ Even though it’s highly concentrated some of us have so much hair.
Please please please make a review on Nature Lab Tokyo hair mask, and maybe their other products as well !
Are u suppose to use this after the oil and bond smoother because it’s number 8? You have to wash it off so I don’t understand the numbering system
