hey Rich great video, always enjoy your approaches and the time you take when possible to show us the descend minute by minute with full ATC, i think your camera man does a formidable job; i think you have one the greatest location to do this videos, awesome job!

That setup ceased to exist back in the late 80s. But there's always Norm's at Brackett, the Cafe at Flabob, Cafe at Corona, Cafe at Riverside, Maniac-Mikes at Cable, the cafe at French Valley or the Elephant Ba and Grill up on the 2nd level of the Santa Barbara airport terminal... I don’t think it is. I think it’s heavier on the pitch axis than most people who transition into it are used to so they equate that to difficult. It just takes a little time to get used to it.

Great video. Makes me cry. In 1986 I started out to get a Private pilot's license, because I wanted my own airplane. I took a guaranteed ground school (2 day course). Then found a flight school in a different town that would fly a plane and an instructor to my local airport.for my training. During my 2 time up my instructor flew me over to a farm that had it's own runway and a 182. The plane was beautiful. I didn't tell my instructior but soon as I recieved my pilots licesence I was going to buy that airplane. ($12,000.00) it looked as new and loaded. Thanks for the memory.
Hey Rich, nice video! Really like the way you show those aircraft, seems would be nice to take some flyin' lessons with you. And that Cessna 182t looks really nice. Oh boy, if I just had the money... :-)
Hey Rich, I (RC scale model pilot) watch all your videos with great interest. I regularly fly as a passenger in a C172N from EBLE with a friend of mine. Compliments for the always professional quality videos, honest, very informative, inspiring and they don't get boring for a second. By the way, the IFR weather conditions in this video are no exception here in Northwest Europe. California is beautiful.

Thanks Rich. I love the plane and the avionics are fantastic! I wish I could squeeze that bad boy into my budget. It would be lovely flying that guy back to Virginia.

I can only assume, it happens the same way in dealing these airplanes. That gives trust and professional deals. Perfectly. Keep on going. This C182 is nice. And I agree, it’s still some time to overhaul the engine. Then you renew the engine and you have a perfect airplane for decades, the rest is done and nice. Even if you add the money for a new engine, you almost have a new condition airplane to much less cost compared to a new one. Hey! I love your videos! I know you’re based in SoCal now but was wondering if you ever had the idea of possibly doing a video on the Cessna delivery day experience.
I used to live in Long Beach and work at Chino airport. That’s was 15 years ago and I can still read back that clearance from memory. BTW I ate at Flo’s for 40 years. Was there last year and not same as it was before Covid. That a shame cause it was legendary. One question…….is this what used to be Tom’s Aircraft or is it still Tom’s with a name change?
Wow. $500K for a Sky Chicken that is about a year from major overhaul. And a prop that needed overhaul early (never a good sign). Nuts. Edit: Fun video. Don't want you to think my incredulity at the market is a criticism of your efforts. Thanks. And...I love the Sky Chicken.
If the value of an overhaul increases the value of the aircraft, then why not just go ahead and provide that service ahead of time and reap the rewards? I call BS on that statement. I love the 182T. It is a solid aircraft.
So, you call BS on the statement that, “the value of the overhaul increases the value of the aircraft”? I think you will find few who agree with you. Also, overhaul cost can range in value and one buyer may value a field overhaul or prefer an airplane with a run out engine. Others may prefer a factory reman verse a field overhaul. I see this all the time - same as paint, someone does a paint job with blue and the potential buyer assigns no value to new paint because he/she like red.
Rich, not an aviator. Don’t enjoy flying. I was an observer in a USDA owned twin Bonanza flying out of KSLI five/days/week in the mid-late eighties. I try to watch each of your videos. And try to do a flyover above Cal Poly, Pomona - my alma mater.

Is there a slight exhaust leak on that engine?
Not that I noticed. Thanks for watching!
Hey Rich - What's the difference in fuel burn at cruise between the Turbo 182T and the non turbo 182T?
8500’ probably 5 gallons.
You guys still have an open invitation to come take a ride in a gyroplane with us!
Let’s plan on it!
@@FlyingwithRich Henry's gonna be in Florida for Sun & Fun and Benson Days but we'll look at later in April.
Hope you did a weight and balance before returning. 😁
Just under $500K for a run-out 15 year old 182. Astounding!
Agree - pretty solid value!
Rip off. Another 80-100k for a new engine has you within 100k of a new 2023
Incorrect - you should get your data straight or at least be more specific.
Today I learned what a TEC route is
Convenient way to fly IFR?
"Old school stuff", now that's funny. 😃
Yeah sad to admit I referred to loading an airway on legacy G1000 as “old school”. Blasphemous!
@@FlyingwithRich Well you made me laugh, that is a clean Turbo Skylane!
Is that an iPad mini?
Yes.
@@FlyingwithRich I am finding my 11 inch iPad is too big. Looking to switch to a mini.
Mini works good for me. The one I have is not the latest one either, but really all I use of for is flying and good fit for me.
Loaded oats?!! I am in SE NM but I’ll be there tomorrow am for loaded oats 😂
That’s my next choice too.
If it wasn't for covid, these planes wouldn't have doubled in price. It's kind of crazy an aircraft like the SR22 can go for over $1M....
What is the price of this plane model 2023 ?
Around $770K but sold out until 2024 mid year I believe.
@@FlyingwithRich Thank you
$500k for a 2008 model. How much for a new one? $750k?
I’d say north of $800K. Thanks for watching!
👋👍🛩️
Rich, not an aviator. Don’t enjoy flying. I was an observer in a USDA owned twin Bonanza flying out of KSLI five/days/week in the mid-late eighties. I try to watch each of your videos. And try to do a flyover above Cal Poly, Pomona - my alma mater.
Will do. Thanks for watching!
