    “How do two brothers get into the nail care business?” This is the single most common question people ask us. There’s a long and rocky version but we’ll give you the short one. We have our fearless and unconventional mother, Young Salo, to thank. With a single-minded entrepreneurial spirit, she decided to start her own business at the age of 49. She had a passion for the nail industry and we did everything in our power to support her. In the end, this is a family business.
    Greg, the older brother, became a licensed nail technician after switching gears from fire fighter’s training. He is energy personified and has a true passion for developing the best professional nail care products and education. Habib is the younger brother. He jumped in a few years later; taking a detour from medical school and a life in music. He brings his own creative mind for business, marketing and strategy. Unexpectedly, we are a perfect team.
    Today, more than 20 years later, Young Nails Inc., is a professional nail care manufacturing company exporting to over 40 countries worldwide and distributing domestically to over 3000 stores. We’re respected for our next-level product innovation and education. Our mission is to bring you the best quality products and we’ll show you how to use them with incredible results. It’s really that simple.
    Welcome to the Young Nails family!

    You know Habib, I would love to see a video all about how to get the best photos and videos for different types of nail looks. Like how you adjust the camera, what lenses, apertures, backgrounds are best for what and why. The best way to maximize your photo potential. It’s so hard when you have a stunning set, but the color or bling won’t translate through the pictures.

    These are STUNNING!!! Even though I started doing my own nails to avoid the cost of going to a salon I would ABSOLUTELY pay top dollar for QUALITY nails like these. Having been to the salons in my area they don’t use forms, tips only, and they glob on way too much product, I have never come close to having a set this perfect. The only problem with these is they are so gorgeous I would be distracted all the time staring at my nails lol!

    • @bedriddenbeauty6504
      @bedriddenbeauty6504 2 роки тому

      Nooooo. The pricing in these videos do not reflect reality. The manis are beautiful, high quality, and fully sculpted, which is not easy to find. But this is not a video about price for nails. It's a commercial, where the nail artist uses the YoungNails products ONLY, and tells you that you could make 175$ if you bought the same products and did the same manicure. It's just not true. You cant put a layer of glitter on a couple of accent nails and claim it's worth double. YoungNails makes some great quality products, worth spending the money on their bonder and other base products. They are expensive for the company to make. What's not expensive is glitter, that isn't worth anything, but now that they have shown you it's worth buying their glitter, cause no matter what you will make back the investment from 175$ manis. A good nail artist knows what products to buy from where, spends on what is best for their client's needs, and knows the only thing glitter has to be, is acetone safe. A child could do a glitter ombre.

    • @Megan-cd6sh
      @Megan-cd6sh 2 роки тому +1

      @@bedriddenbeauty6504 Right, they are outlining the prices based on the products used and quality of work. So use a cheaper glitter and adjust your price then. You honestly just seem salty that people don't want to pay you more for your work. It is always so important to stress to artists that they should charge what their time, product and talent is worth. We so often undersell ourselves. It's sad to see someone telling people that they should not charge what the service is worth. Because the quality of this work is worth the price.

    I know this is off topic of what your showing but I have an honest questions about the Clear Sculptor gel.... Max Estrada's "Gummy Paste" for sticking stones in seems to be almost the same as YN's No Leveling Sculptor. Max uses his paste on the nail, then covers it with his clear topcoat, sticks the stones right into the gel and then cures.... They STAY ON FOREVER!! Could you do your nail, file finish, add the Clear Sculptor, smooth over a little of the YN Finish Gel, stick your stones in and then cure... the application of the top coat directly over the uncured sculptor and curing process of BOTH TOGETHER is suppose to "raise" up the gel around the edges of the stones and embellishments to fully secure them in place....... Hmmmmmmmmm...... Have you tried??? ( The size bead of gummy paste he uses is almost of the same size of the stone you are placing if that is any help) Hmmmmmmmm???

    • @youngnailsinc
      @youngnailsinc  5 років тому +4

      Love the inquiries, as for comparison we cant exactly speak on other brands as we aren't familiar. As for stones, we have had great success by placing stones into uncured clear sculptor, curing once the stone is in place, then sealing around the stone and over the rest of the nail with finish (our non wipe top coat.) Hope this answers your question!

    I am in the learning stage, I have a question regarding shape charge??. No matter what product you put on my nail hard gel, acrylic etc. You need to cut and shape my nails, why would you charge me for shaping? I appreciate all of your videos 😊

    • @youngnailsinc
      @youngnailsinc  4 роки тому +1

      The shaping charge is additional for added length or custom shapes like coffin or stiletto

    • @bedriddenbeauty6504
      @bedriddenbeauty6504 2 роки тому

      Wow. A stiletto is really one step less, because you don't have to cut it after you take the form off. It's not a specialty shape because people wear it less. I think someone is seeing clearly.

    My clients would kill me if I left colour underneath. Also, i’ve noticed people charge for shape. I don’t understand that. I charge for the length = product used and time & art but I’m a gel tech. Maybe that why?

    • @youngnailsinc
      @youngnailsinc  5 років тому +2

      Yea as long as you are charging for the extra work is really the point we are trying to make, shape change, added length etc.

    • @mademoisellekaya1438
      @mademoisellekaya1438 5 років тому +2

      I think the way Drea Rose thinks.. because these days clients are not as naive anymore and ask me why I charge for the shaping of gels specific and when I asked how so they asked me this, the answer was.. 'well.. gel files way faster than acrylics.. I filed it myself when I broke my nail'
      I had to agree plus these girls all watch YT themselves, I even came across one of my clients here on YT .. especially the new trend is going on (I went to the best or worst salon in my town) so I no longer charge for the shaping of gels and I am perfectly fine with it because I think they are right.

    • @milliannek
      @milliannek 5 років тому +3

      I don't charge for shape because I do the shaping on the form, it's not like I'm reshaping tips. I charge to change the shape on a refill though, gel or acrylic- it doesn't take as much time, but it still takes extra time.

    • @bedriddenbeauty6504

      @@youngnailsinc there is no extra work.

  • @christinamatzen4214
    @christinamatzen4214 5 років тому +6

    Tracey, would you tell the client up front at each appointment what their total will be so they can change their mind if they want to? With add ones and things I can see people asking for a break down (Actually, they would say “What?? Why?”). I would think that’s the way to do it but then you run into 10 minutes of haggling over a design that fits what they want and 10 minutes is gone.
    Also, if you allot 30 minutes for a fill and they show up with a design you can’t do in 30, you just tell them “Let me know in advance for next time”, right? I have an issue with a few clients who sometimes take extra for nail art and sometimes don’t and they never know until they get there so I just book the hour and a half just in case. I need to learn how to be a hard ass, right? You can tell me, it’s ok.

    • @youngnailsinc
      @youngnailsinc  5 років тому +12

      haha, not so much a hard ass as just in charge of your business. As long as you have valid answers they can't argue plus at the end of the day its your business. For example to the first question: client: "I want these nails in this photo." response: "oh yes those are gorgeous lets do it just a heads up that's a $100 set." that way they are aware and it's their decision if they still want the set. I like to have cheaper alternatives in case there's an issue like " we could just do a couple accent fingers or just 1 glitter" again leaves the decision up to them.
      2nd : yes exactly again honesty, know yourself enough to know your timing, let them know in order to achieve the look to the best of your ability you will need to book more time, and again you can offer alternatives like one accent nail or less detail to make it something you can do in that amount of time.

    • @bedriddenbeauty6504
      @bedriddenbeauty6504 2 роки тому +1

      Anyone who walks into salon interested, should be shown the menu of nail appointments you take, how long, how much, which add ons are available, how much, and how long. They should never have confusion, no suprises.

    I did something similar to this and then when I went to change it up, I filed it down but then the tip broke off. Would u recommend maybe building it up a little and then glitter, then more gel? Or maybe I did the form wrong perhaps when I created it? Any recommendations?

    • @youngnailsinc
      @youngnailsinc  Рік тому +1

      It depends on how you want to do your change out. If you prefer to file the design out but still leave the clear extension, you may want to create a thicker clear layer underneath. If you clip off the free edge and re-sculpt the free edge like she does in the beginning of the video, it's ok to keep the base layer thin and remove the free edge.

    what is the difference between using a brush or a lint free nail wipe to cleanse? in what situations do you use each method?

    • @youngnailsinc
      @youngnailsinc  4 роки тому

      Wipes are idea for removing the dispersion layer brushes are great for prep because it pulls all the dust out of the side walls

      You can get a bag or box of medical non-fiber sticking dry pads at most stores for cheap. You don't want any fuzz sticking to nail.

    What shapes and lengths do you charge extra for? As a new tech that would be a great one to talk about?

    • @youngnailsinc
      @youngnailsinc  5 років тому

      Basically if it is adding time to your overall service it should be charged for. For example typically shortening nails doesn't add much time to a service, but reshaping from a coffin to stiletto is gonna take you some additional time. Also added length requires more product like if you are comparing short oval to long square etc.

    @youngnails Can I use base to mix the glitter if I do t have flex?

    • @youngnailsinc
      @youngnailsinc  Рік тому

      You can but we don’t recommend build the entire extension in base since that’s not what it’s for. We would mix the glitter in build or build pink before mixing it with base.

    What did u say about not being worried about breaking the top coat seal when you file after your done ??

    • @youngnailsinc
      @youngnailsinc  4 роки тому +1

      Believe she's referring to the free edge not having an issue because she uses protein bond so there should be no chipping.

    I love those how much videos.i love their prices. Nail techs that charge $50 and under for a set like that isn’t helping the nail
    Industry. It’s time nail prices go up. Good Products are not cheap and most times the owner gets a percentage or we have to pay rent.
