Yeah she removed everything, but she only did that to only one nail. So she would charge just her fill price ($60) instead of fullset price ($90) right?

      Pixie stones cost me 39.00, so if I used 1/2 the jar on this design I would add about $80 to the bill. I have to be able to repurchase those supplies again and make a profit on my "time & artistic flair" for the design and the initial nails..... So $182.00

      @@d-gsnails6390 well that price "may be a bit steep for some" but you do have to take into account all the products you use and how much it takes to rebuy them. You must always remember that if you are using a high cost item, charge them no less than double because you do have to repurchase the supplies and you should always make a profit while being able to pay yourself for the work without losing a penny.

    I'm a bit confused.
    I can see in the inspo pic the tech used two Swarovski crystals on the pinky, a bunch of ss7 on the ring fingers, likely clear cavair or Swarovski Crystal pixie, and a bunch of crystals on the index fingers..
    However in the video, Tracey proceeds to just use glitter to make a facsimile instead of the actual art.
    Is the objective to give us a price range?

    Is it acceptable to do the math before hand to see if the client is comfortable with the cost, or do you think that it would start the appointment on the wrong foot? 🤔 or do you think the set price of acrylics full set gives the client enough of an idea on how much they will end up spending?

    • @CreatedByNoriElan
      @CreatedByNoriElan 6 років тому +3

      Gently and kindly mention pricing. Explain the cost and total! No surprises at the end when you reveal the total. Many clients will be shocked at an astronomical price, even if it's totally justified!! Some clients have absolutely no qualms about costs and gladly leave a generous tip. Depends on the client. Cost should definitely be discussed.

      Im a nail tech in Trinidad. We could never charge that here and have repeat business. It comes down to cost of living. Our exchange rate would be at about $7 TTD to $1 USD. At that rate this set would be over $700. Only the elite techs can charge that and get away with it and yet still their stuff is much more bling etc than this. I do more elaborate things than this daily and average about 250 - 300 TTD per set thats about 45 - 50 USD. Its just not possible with our economy to charge like this. I do enjoy the series tho gives me an idea of what the world market is like.

    People just wouldn’t pay this sort of money in the UK where I live. There’s so many techs only charging from between £25 to £35. There’s also a lot of techs only charging between £15 to £20. It makes me sick because there’s so much work gos into working as a nail tech and people just don’t realise or appreciate this. I’ll be starting out soon and I’ve been training for 6 years to perfect all my skills. This is disheartening I just don’t know what to do over pricing. I’ll be working from home after Christmas and would really appreciate some advice on this. Thanks. ♥️💜♥️🤩

    • @MadeleineHenderson
      @MadeleineHenderson 5 років тому +1

      I think people do just pay more in the states anyway, remember it is much cheaper living there in general than here. Could you imagine anyone paying close to 50 quid for a set of nails here? No chance! Even though these were a super pretty set, considering gems are so cheap and so is glitter I think $107 is extortionate.

    • @annabor1000
      @annabor1000 5 років тому +2

      Heres the thing, others should not be determining your pricing. Does it factor in? Of course ,but you need to figure out how much you need to charge to pay for your supplies used, rent, and to pay yourself and your bills. If someone comes to you and can only afford 30 pounds then they get a basic set if that's what you need to charge for a basic set. Don't give them a blinged out set because you'll be working for free. You need to charge your worth and also give amazing quality. You will not have trouble getting clients

    • @annabor1000
      @annabor1000 5 років тому +1

      Also the conversion of dollars to pounds is not always accounted for in regards to UK vs US pricing. The market seems more saturated in the UK tho due to no regulation so that definitely factors as well.
