I was the VFX technical director on the show. Originally, the plan was to run 8 seasons, but that was the best pie in the sky scenario. We only got half of that, so obviously, plot lines had to be trimmed and rushed ahead. That affected coherence, but still, I'm glad that we got to finish it. I don't think anything will top working on Continuum. I wish we could have a season to explore the "Traveller". All that buildup, and no proper reveal. I know his story, but none of it made it into the show.
@@Zboy707 This year I'll do a retrospect of the show for the channel, because I'm worried I'll eventually forget all the juicy details and plots of episodes that didn't make it into the series. As for the comic, the show creators still own the rights to it. Any comic would have to get their approval first.
Really enjoyed watching all the seasons. Just sad that when Kiera returned to her time, she had to passively look at her alternative self raising her boy in now a much better place. One of the best if not the best time traveler shows ever. Kudos to you and your team for making this show what it was. Lots of concepts to this show is now starting to take shape now, such as Neurolink. Scary. :)
This is a must-see sci-fi. "You cannot make a man listen with a bullet" "I chose you because I believe in a better future than mine. One that I know you will build." "Have you ever stood on a beach and faced an approaching tsunami?" These are the words that impressed me.
Been watching this on Netflix. Was unsure about the show going into it but now, I'm dreading the fact that I'm just a few episodes away from the end. Awesome series that really does the whole time travel aspect in a very cool and interesting way. Gutted that it'll soon be all over for me and I'll have to find something new to watch. Really sucks that so many cool sci-fi shows like this, _'Firefly',_ _'Tomorrow People'_ and _'Dark Matter'_ have been canceled when they still had plenty of life in them.

Amazing! I'm thrilled to bits with the general idea and complexity of the story. Every next episode brings more and more mystery. The plot is not worn up. And of course Cameron is very beautiful.
I love this show I binged watched every episode on Netflix, and this show makes me love Canada a lot more than the US and makes me want to live there in Vancouver.
this is my favorite sci fi show hands down 10/10 all across the board one thing though is that i wish we could have seen more. my top 3 sci fi shows at this point is 1. Continuum 2. travellers 3 dark matter. only hope that this franchise isn't completely dead and im not the only one still in love with this show. Came here, because we just binged travelers... very profound ending for the series. Wish there was a season 4 but like almost all good syfy shows they get cut early. Going to give this one a shot. Also any other good shows with Trevor and Philip? Or any of the good actors from travelers?
I love this show. I also really like how they left it a mystery on Kellogg when Maddy was killed. On whether or not she was his grandmother or if he just couldn't be unborn in the new timeline. Although personally I see evidence suggesting that she really wasn't his grandmother. I could be wrong but the impression I got was that Kellogg's grandmother lived in that house till she died and Maddy and her family was about to be evicted from the house till Kellogg paid off the mortgage. So therefore his grandmother never moved into the house.
Actually, I think her being his grandmother was the point about his character... of all the characters, he is the first to realized he is entirely unbound by time and fate. He was morally ambiguous but there was still some good in him, the death of Maddy didn't just signify the death of everything good about him, to him it also signify there being no longer any consequences for him. He gets to do anything and everything to be as avarice as he wants, until fate actually catches up with him.

It feels like it's all been done before and there's nothing new to be offered here. But it adds a new layer of emotion and complexity that you don't expect from such a "sci-fi" show. The series is a 9/10 on the Sci-Fi scale. But isn't it a little easy for the writers to send people back in time 65 years? The almost exact average of 1 generation of Kira? Hey! Easy plot twists, let's do it. All these main characters will know and interact with their parents or children. Okay great. Take it back 15,000 years and write a story. Zzzz... Still a 9/10. I enjoyed this show, except... They messed up the timelines. The Alec Sadler from Kira's 2077 could not have known what happened in the past because in that timeline those things did not happen. All he did was send the "terrorists" back in time in hopes that things might change, even though he would not experience those changes because the timeline in which he exists is fixed. That they portrayed him as having knowledge of the past was a big mistake which ignores alternate timelines. The Alec Sadler from the alternate/new timeline, as shown in the final episode would remember the past events, but he didn't send anyone back in time as there was no need. I did like the way that they handled the grandfather paradox though. Killing the young grandmother simply creates a new timeline in which the guy doesn't exist.
just watched another trailer of a continuum series (a spinoff?) which looked really bad. Glad that I saw the trailer for this the original one. Looks so much better.

For instance, unlocking cars might be possible by overloading their circuitry and making the motors responsible for locking the door fire. You might also be able to magnetically induce current into the servo's coils and unlock the door that way. If you think about it, nothing's as far stretched as you claim. Think about Nemo's nuclear submarine depicted by Jules Verne and imagine you read it in 1870 when it came out.
the show starts with a very common narrative... catch the bad guys, the terrorists... Yet it slowly morphed into something of a "V for vendetta" where the alleged terrorists are fighting a preemptive war against the all pervasive corporate congress of the future. Had it not been a trailer like this one, the show would have been cancelled after the first season due to its political/philosophical nature. When it becomes clear the show incriminates "evil" corporations such as chemical giant Monsanto and drug companies it was pulled off the network.
Continuum starts off as the typical good guys "law enforcement" against bad guys "terrorists" plot (boring), but as the season progresses, we start to realize it's a lot more than that. It truly goes down the rabbit hole and depicts the future we are now starting to see. Elon Musk's neural link, social credits, surveillance state and technocracy (Corporate Congress). When they introduce the name Somanto in season 2 or 3 in reference to Monsanto, an evil corporation that controls food supply, chemicals and medicine, and is behind false flags operations to create a health crisis and sell its solution, that's when it becomes not only so close to reality but also a foreboding tale that went way too far for mainstream TV's sanitized content. Luckily the show passed the filters for 3 seasons because it flew under the radar as Sci-Fi. However there is no doubt it caught the attention of these corporate sponsors and had to be shut down with a shortened season 4 to conclude the series. What's amazing is the cast and screenwriter (Simon Barry) have never discussed the obvious references to current companies and practices. There's a high likelihood the network was threatened with a lawsuit and that they had to sign a non-disclosure agreement never to discuss any of the realities raised in Continuum. It's amazing in itself it was aired considering the current sanitized and fully censored and controlled media/entertainment environment. Simon Barry got his message through somehow, but only because he introduced the plot twist progressively.
I agree 100% that our economic ideology if flawed, big time. It's obvious that money is power and that's totally contrary to American democracy. But science is going to the answers to everything. Science is actually human beings and human beings are flawed. Thomas
I watched the first 2 seasons and I enjoyed those, but I lost interest when they took a while to come out with the 3rd season. I'm well aware that it takes a lot of work to get new seasons for any show out.
you did not get it exactly right. "NO ONE" from the future is portrayed as a hero. Some of lead heroine's actions are portrayed as downright disturbing and the show shows a clear contrast between how she perceived her life and how the world actually was(as in you see same events from different POV). In an essence, both sides are incredibly fucked up and morally gray, but show does not argue that the future is incredibly fucked up and majorly disturbing.
Your assuming I only watched one episode and that I was making reference to the writing shows an inability to have a rational discussion. I watched quite a few episodes and the writing is very good. As to the difference between US and Canadian writers, there isn't any they're both usually terrible. I use to be a screen and teleplay writer and I've known a lot of Canadian writers. Thomas

We have a guaranteed income, it's called minimum wage and it does prove social and economic health. A child can see that corruption is immoral. the show starts with a very common narrative... catch the bad guys, the terrorists... Yet it slowly morphed into something of a "V for vendetta" where the alleged terrorists are fighting a preemptive war against the all pervasive corporate congress of the future. Had it not been a trailer like this one, the show would have been cancelled after the first season due to its political/philosophical nature. When it becomes clear the show incriminates "evil" corporations such as chemical giant Monsanto and drug companies it was pulled off the network.

Continuum starts off as the typical good guys "law enforcement" against bad guys "terrorists" plot (boring), but as the season progresses, we start to realize it's a lot more than that. It truly goes down the rabbit hole and depicts the future we are now starting to see. Elon Musk's neural link, social credits, surveillance state and technocracy (Corporate Congress).
When they introduce the name Somanto in season 2 or 3 in reference to Monsanto, an evil corporation that controls food supply, chemicals and medicine, and is behind false flags operations to create a health crisis and sell its solution, that's when it becomes not only so close to reality but also a foreboding tale that went way too far for mainstream TV's sanitized content. Luckily the show passed the filters for 3 seasons because it flew under the radar as Sci-Fi. However there is no doubt it caught the attention of these corporate sponsors and had to be shut down with a shortened season 4 to conclude the series.
What's amazing is the cast and screenwriter (Simon Barry) have never discussed the obvious references to current companies and practices. There's a high likelihood the network was threatened with a lawsuit and that they had to sign a non-disclosure agreement never to discuss any of the realities raised in Continuum.
It's amazing in itself it was aired considering the current sanitized and fully censored and controlled media/entertainment environment. Simon Barry got his message through somehow, but only because he introduced the plot twist progressively.

I agree 100% that our economic ideology if flawed, big time. It's obvious that money is power and that's totally contrary to American democracy. But science is going to the answers to everything. Science is actually human beings and human beings are flawed.

I watched the first 2 seasons and I enjoyed those, but I lost interest when they took a while to come out with the 3rd season. I'm well aware that it takes a lot of work to get new seasons for any show out.

"NO ONE" from the future is portrayed as a hero. Some of lead heroine's actions are portrayed as downright disturbing and the show shows a clear contrast between how she perceived her life and how the world actually was(as in you see same events from different POV). In an essence, both sides are incredibly fucked up and morally gray, but show does not argue that the future is incredibly fucked up and majorly disturbing.

Your assuming I only watched one episode and that I was making reference to the writing shows an inability to have a rational discussion. I watched quite a few episodes and the writing is very good. As to the difference between US and Canadian writers, there isn't any they're both usually terrible. I use to be a screen and teleplay writer and I've known a lot of Canadian writers.

I found Hola, when coupled with Google Chrome works perfectly on PC - I am able to get All 3 seasons now - YAY!
For some reason though on my Android, Hola only gets me seasons 1 & 2? Go figure...
Anyhow, I'm not complaining as least now I can keep things moving.

Dogma exists everywhere including in science. You do realize that all scientific research exists on a reward system; in either receiving grants or profit. We have a guaranteed income, it's called minimum wage and it does prove social and economic health. A child can see that corruption is immoral. Our culture has traits from many periods, not just the 1900s. Culture is never so simple to make such a broad statement.
