That "duh - duh - da - duh duh" synth sound that repeats from 2:35 gives me goosebumps.
The song as a whole carries a hauntingly beautiful energy. Found this while looking for The Dillinger Escape Plan vinyl, and I had to grab this too! The whole album is just so dark, moody and brilliant. Fantastic thinking music.
This album is incredible with 100w bookshelf speakers...specifically in the tight bass and that sound separation you're referencing. Its almost 3D
The part at 3:twenty on Ice to Never is incredible as well.

ive been describing this genre in detail and begging for it. I've searched the deepest darkest crevices of the internet. I've said i need something with that depeche mode vibe but modernized, something melodic and poppy but deep and meaningful with sort of an 80s tinge but darker. something that's not really synth wave and not really industrial, more like electronic melodic romantic cluster of..... something with ambience and atmosphere but not too much. i swear ive tried describing this exact noise and atlast!!! thank you black queen and crosses, i hope this inspires more musicians to take this route. this is my favorite genre. it needs it's OWN name now.
