No, you are just a terrible driver.
Women at a disadvantage... Not really by much though... Although males are much more common and have a much higher chance to be picked by a team in racing doesn't necessarily mean that a woman would be at a disadvantage when it comes to pace since well pace isn't really determined by gender and there are women out there who can outperform and outpace men by a long shot, sure they got a slight disadvantage when it comes to body composition like larger breasts which poses risks when it comes to crashes or interference with safety stuff, different body proportions i.e. waistline, less bulkier body and wider hips that adds a slight hindrance when it comes to racing and pace but not by much since a woman can make up for that in more ways than one, for example they have twomain advantages over men, they are overall lighter and much smaller which means they won't be hindered that much by those two factors, they are more likely to get picked by a team if the female driver performs well since she may be considered as a marketing trick, and the press might be interested aswell since female drivers are daughter after now cause they want to expand diversity in conclusion though, being a female racing driver and a male racing driver isn't really any different from each other
But if we were talking about Carmen jorda... She doesn't have any excuse tbh... She got abysmal pace, her body doesn't have the hindrances I mentioned such as big breasts, waistline differences compared to men of her size, when you look at physical stats she is usually the same weight as her teammates which would mean she's most likely overweight for her height (not in medical terms I meant in terms of team mates). so yeah she's basically just an actual terrible driver and has nothing to do with the fact that she's a woman
@@justsomemustachewithoutaguy- "pace isn't really determined by gender" yeah this tells me you never raced anything. You get sore muscles dude. It's a physical sport, and men will always dominate it.

You dont need extra racing series only for women
You only need two things: Women that understand that if they are not good enough to accept it
and second: Women that can actually drive badass instead of ones for marketing reasons.
to be honest, w series is also to open the doors and inspire young girls to take up karting as kids. not to seperate girls and men for f1. bc that's also a problem. if the talent pool is big enough you will have some at some point reach f1. but the talent pool for f1 isn't that big.
hence the purpose of w series. inspire young girls to take up karting specifically for reaching f1 one day.
@@liynne Yeah young girls will be so inspired by women that only got extra treatment and stuff for free. Thats a nice generation we are creating there 👍
@@Pandatoofu im talking about w series, not about carmen
@@liynne I am also talking about the w series. Which no one needs.
@@Pandatoofu Representation is important and I think Lynn is trying to say that if young girls have no famous women to look up to in racing then it's important to try and make those names for them. Racing is an equal opportunity sport yet that doesn't seem to be the case in F1, and that's just the simple fact that not as many women are in racing. If they see women in racing when they're young, they're more likely to take up the sport.
When Canada and USA started promoting their women's soccer teams just as much as their men's soccer teams they saw a massive boost in the rankings of their teams. The reason was because it got more girls in to soccer, and thus the countries had more potential talent to pull from. There's actually been a ton of studies done on their increased promotion on their women's teams and the benefits it had to the sport league as a whole.
The W Series doesn't really have any drawbacks and creates said representation for young girls. And if it creates another potential feeder league for F1? Then great. But it's also something that if you don't want it, you don't have to watch it and let those who are looking forward to it to enjoy it.

Simona DeSilvestro i consider underrated, at the very least she was a step in the right direction for women in F1.
I've always wondered what Simona DeSilvestro could do in an actually competitive car, since she has driven cars to places where they had absolutely no business being in, like when she was driving woefully underpowered Lotus engines in IndyCar and didn't finish last. Between 1998 & 2001 I worked for a company (as an automation & robotics engineer) where the boss owned a Formula Holden Team. It was an Australian category using second hand F3000 cars but with a locally sourced 3.8l V6. Scott Dixon (of Indy Cars) won the Championship in 1998.
In my boss's team the drivers had to BRING at least $200k for a season with 8-10 Rounds. He eventually got a 2nd hand V8 Supercar for the B-category and that cost over $400K a year for the driver to bring. His F-Holden cars were available for a weekend at about $30K for one offs. A test day could be anywhere from $10-40K depending on how many laps and how many drivers were at the test and which track they were using - all those costs add up.
I was actually at the round (Oran Park) where Scott Dixon secured his championship. Helmut Marko (Le Mans winner & Red Bull advisor) flew that weekend to watch one of our drivers Marcus Friesacher (older brother of Patrick Friesacher who drove F1). We had Marcus for 1/2 the 1988 season when he was sponsored by Red Bull as a development driver (interesting times).
MOST MOTOR SPORT Including F1 the driver PAYS the team for the seat outright or their sponsors pay for the seat. Motor sport is a business way more than it is a sport and has been for decades. Only a handful of drivers at the very front (because they are that good) get paid by a team to drive their car. In those rare cases the team usually goes to their sponsors for the funding.
One of the super important things for all young drivers is to learn how to raise money from sponsors. A lot of talented drivers never learn that thinking talent alone will get them there and NO IT DOESN'T.
So if you have every wondered why some apparently poor drivers get ahead while talented ones fade away - it really is a matter of money.
why do all creators say that they're gonna link everything on the description when they don't do it?

1) Jorda and ecclestone were more then just friends for a long time:), there are major rumors that eccelestone was paying for Jorda directly, and when Liberty Media bought out F1, Jorda couldn’t stay longer because Lotus was just returning favor to Eccelestone.
2)indeed she 12 seconds away in simulator. Fellow drivers who raced her in the past claim that it would be impossible that she is within one second of Romain.
3) Jorda was always bad and Spanish racing community sees her nothing more then just a girl with pretty face.
Fucking hell Ecclestone hit that? That explains a lot.

I'm looking forward to a time when nobody absolutely cares about your race, gender, political views, and religion, just how good you are at your job.
I think we're backtracking on the meritocracy road in our society. We may never live to see it.
That's what we all want but being pants at driving and still making it towards the peak is the worst. Ps I dislike drivers in F1 who only get there because $
As long as identity politics reign, that world would never be realised.
I'm afraid those days are long gone and are unlikely to come back in my lifetime....
You know, it's sort of funny, but I never looked at Lewis Hamilton, or Willy T. Ribbs, as being "black" racing drivers...until Hamilton became "woke". I don't really care what color or race a driver belongs to. Can he drive? That's all that matters.
Excellent video 👍👍
I m not an f1 fan but damn your videos are great!!!!
Honestly Josh you should make a video about Eliška Junková because she is prime example of how good a woman can be when she uses her brain more than her muscles. Not only that she raced against men, she gained their respect while racing. Men like Divo, Chiron and even Ettore Bugatti himself. She almost won Targa Florio 1928 race. 7 hours long race. In a car without powersteering, with wooden board on the floor so she could reach the accelerator (she accelerated with her toe not the whole feet) and pillows behind and under her so she could reach the steering wheel. She finished 15 minutes behind winner Divo in the fifth place. The only other woman on grid baroness von Einsiedel finished full 1 hour behind Divo. It's really shame that she is forgotten. So please Josh make video about her and remind the world about the Queen of the wheel.
She’s in racing for the same reason I watched this video; nice to look at.
Never heard of her, but it seems to me that someone should check & approve any words or sentences that come out of her mouth.. before she actually says them.. MM was incredible behind the wheel of that S1 😮👊🏼
Just because you chose to start your video with the Lancia Delta S4, I'm going to give you a thumb up.
Carmen Jorda: what happens when shit driving and pace combines with internalized misogyny to make someone completely insufferable.
What does misogyny have to do with this she had lots of support that talented racing drivers didn't get even when she was performing badly
@@IbrahemAlbanawi I’m not saying it’s misogyny against her, she is misogynistic in her own way. A lot of the video comes off to me as taking her shit performances and applying it to all women and saying that women are worse than men at Motorsport. Which there is ample evidence to prove that isn’t the case.
Her main problem wasn't only her performance, but her choice of words.
Whoever was behind her, most certainly was paying a lot of cash to keep her career going.
@@IbrahemAlbanawi He's referring to her comments that women couldn't compete and needed their own series. There's an internalized misogyny in thinking that. It's similar to labor "feminists" in the United States that helped defeat the Equal Rights Amendment. It was an insult to real feminism and something that irritates me to this day.
Carmen Jorda. Tatiana Calderon.
Hot girls in cars.
Michele Mouton, Janet Guthrie, Sarah Fisher, Pippa Mann, Danica Patrick: Drivers, who happened to he women.
Edit: Forgive my mortal sin, I didn't add Sabine Schmitz. Race in Peace, dear lady!
danica was a driver that happened to be a hot girl
...Lella Lombardi, Desiree Wilson and going back in time there were others...
Drivers, who happen to be women, that won championships: Shirley Muldowney.
No video about her though.
Back in the day Michelle Mouton was fine though
Calderon isn't just some bimbo though, she has good results.
Update on Carmen Jorda: She is now facing the possibility of going to jail after alledgedly running over the employee of an esthetic clinic twice (she ran her over and then came back on reverse) because she wasn't satisfied with their services.
Oh so she's a psychopathic karen as well? Good to know.
The rally full of ppl on the road u see is in Portugal , crazyest rally and crazyest crowd ever.
Matthew Carter (the team's CEO at the time) confirmed the Sorenson story. He didn't clarify it was 12 seconds, but did say Jorda was multiple seconds off Sorenson's simulator pace.
It's been said at least twice, on Missed Apex podcast episodes. Carter also confirmed that she was signed purely as a marketing exercise.
Interestingly, I didn't realise she'd had her teeth capped at the same time as the Indy lights move.

i really appreciate how you DIDN'T push a Sexist narrative on this and just gave facts. i know Racing irl is most definitely harder than in a game but when a Girl has ZERO points multiple times and fails to qualify... that's setting a bad example for us. love how you gave credit to other Iconic Female Drivers too! definitely not the average Sexist narrative most people try and push for Women in Sports and Racing, you're just presenting facts. well done.
Man I wish I could wish I spend years failing at driving professionally
she almost makes mazepin look good
No, she DOES make Mazepin look good. :)
Considering Mazepin finished 2nd in GP3, that must mean a lot of drivers are terrible.
Mazepin finished 5th in F2, so I'd have to say he's leagues ahead of her
Mick Schumacher made Mazepin look good during Monaco.
@@lorddrac_dontaskmetodance those were team orders but sure okay

what proper PR team would go for her knowing her track record, you have to be drain dead in terms of PR to hire her
Honestly sometimes I think the hierarchy of motorsport is so detached from reality
But looks good. That’s what PR firms work with.
Not really. Danica Patrick got a lot of attention and sponsors despite being a terrible driver.
@@met0xy Danica a terrible driver? Maybe not creme de la creme, but terrible? What are you smoking dude?
@@nanatzaya Well, in IndyCar 116 races, one win. NASCAR 191 races 0 wins, 7 top 10s.
I'm smoking meth.
I think it's important to develop men in motorsports and show boys that men can succeed in anything.
Hey man, not sure if you'll see this or not, but de Tomaso announced something about Carmen Jorda on their website, and sounds like she might be a part of their new racing team? You might want to check it out.
Love the videos man!
I do find it fascinating how people manage to get to the heights of top level motorsport.
I remember that crazy lady. When she said those crazy things about how there needs to be a segregated series because women aren’t good enough. I was like wtf?!? And the women I followed at the time in sports car racing were going off on her on Twitter 😂
Outro song is pretty fire
Josh, given your recent foray into the ladies, I'd be interested in your take on Louise Cook, WRC almost-be...
I'm mediocre sim racer, but I imagine that on the F1 simulator I would not be 12 seconds off the pace.
Even my worst it´s just 8-10 seconds. Where´s my fucking test driver contract. I´m pretty sure if I went to real racing series I would be able to finish last too.
I was lucky enough to be invited to drive the Mercedes F1 simulator a year or so ago. I'm in no way, shape or form qualified to even start as a motor racing driver, but my meagre experience of racing games got me to just under 10 seconds off Valtteri Bottas' 2020 Silverstone Anniversary Grand Prix pole time.
It's always a good day when Josh drops a new video
Agree!
4 minutes in i can tell - good, there is some people to get reference frame of how real drivers are good at it. Like that post said that there should be a non athlethe in sprint races just to see how athletes are faster :D
You watch ONE F1 video and suddenly I get all of these videos about racing.
