Arguably the best set of armor in the game isn't power armor but the reily's rangers combat armor and matching helmet. It weighs less and offers similar protection on top of actual stat buffs. Plus late game any human character that isn't enclave is probably sporting combat armor for repairs

You can easily just put the reasoning on Ug'Qualthoth and his use of radiation to influence the fabric of existence on the east coast. See the children of atom dont realize that they have been right this whole time but their god isnt what they think. The power of atom is the influence of Ug'Qualthoth that it is carrying. Thats why the east coast is so much more desolate and the capitol wasteland is still so radioactive. Because of all the monuments to lovecraftian horrors huddden in plain sight in dc. Like the streamline era busts on all the buildings in the capitol that you end up finding a giant one buried deep under dunwich borers in fallout 4...and we all know the Dunwich Corporation's deep connections to Ug'Qualthoth. And being that they are the east coasts largest provider of stone and aggregates its not only makes sense id bet money its coming in a future game.

There's also a glitch that let's you keep your weapons and armor from the simulation which also has an extremely high hit point number. You use the dead Gary body and drag it into the simulation pod. Then when you exit the simulation look down and spam A until it let's you open up the inventory of Gary. You can transfer all of the gear before its taken away
Same. Drag Gary body into the same chair your simulator is in. During loading spam action button while holding camera down. The inventory window loads of the dead Gary body before you're items are removed. Then you transfer the items to the dead Gary close. The game removes all items which is nothing now. Proceed to loot dead Gary. Gary's body has to be in the correct position. It's unfortunate to have to redo entire playthrough if Gary isn't placed correct. .
Looking for someone to mention this. I played fallout 3 a ton growing up and I knew basically every exploit (on the Xbox 360 version) and item you could get off the top of my head. Good times.

I wasn't able to find stealth armor while I was in operation anchorage, is there a place I can find that? I know you can get it after you get out of the simulation, but I want unbreakable version
You can pickpocket the stealth armor from a Dragoon, but it won't give you the stealth field when you're crouching. The "unbreakable" version is inferior to the regular version, in my opinion. @@AMaleDaG which I respect but the shocksword gets the bonuses from a couple energy weapon perks but the main feature is its effectiveness against robots and power armor. But I definitely love the shishkabab for all the fleshy targets.
This armor is also strange where if you start the quest to get the armor from the fort, if you pick up the armor from Operation anchorage, you will complete the quest.
I honestly figured it was because the suit was a pristine undamaged set of pre war power armour and that’s why I wasn’t going to have to repair it for a long long time I figured it would make me eventually though lol

You can also grab a chunk from the corpse in the bunker and put it in the sim pod so for a split second you still have your inventory full of sim items and you can place them inside that corpse chunk container while crossing over and get a unbreakable suppressed 10mm, AR, Chinese AR, Gauss Rifle, and some others
I love doing the bug that let's to offload all the sim equipment before the game deletes it so you've got an arsenal of virtual virtually unbreakable weapons and a combat armor set
I actually didnt know this. When I got the armor I just saw its stats were less than the armor I had and never wore it. If i had known about the durability it definitely would have seen more use in my playthroughs.

The best part is that you can play the dlc right out of the vault, so you can play the rest of the game with unbreakable armor and some pretty good weapons.

I always thought that it was unbreakable because it was "winterized". Not a bug, but an intentional feature of that unique item. I remember that DLC was an instant level 7 and access to some of the best items in that game, so it was always a first stop for new characters for me.
Before you go into the simulation pod, have a look around. You'll come across a Gray clones corpse. Move the corpse into the pod room & place it in the pod by the foot bit. If done correctly (make a hard save before) when you finish the simulation keep tappin A while the screen is loading. You should then enter the clones inventory & deposit any gear like armour & weapons into it. All of the gear will have the same near infinite condition.
Another thing I do is before I do the very last objective in the simulation, just before you go to where you fight the Chinese general. Have your gear that you collected from the armourer & return to him. Dump all your inventory out onto the ground. Ask to change your loadout. Once equipped drop that new gear & request another loadout change, rinse & repeat. You have infinite carry capacity in the simulation so you can go on a mad one with it. Once out you'll have to dump some of your gear onto a companion, I had to leave a load in the base but managed to get my entire haul to Megaton in around 4-5 trips.
Loved this armor so much I actually downloaded a mod on fallout 4 that has the winterized t-51, and it is absolutely gorgeous. Also can take a hell of a beating too, charged through the glowing sea the other day and had a total of 6 deathclaw encounters, and then a few ghouls, followed by a ton of bugs and about a dozen radscorpions. Only needed to use about 3 stimpacks and one rad away, other than that the armor definitely held up.
Yeah, the Operation Anchorage DLC was pretty broken. Aside from the glitch with which you can keep all the ubreakable items from the simulation, completing the DLC grants you the unbreakable T51 power armor, power armor training (you'd have to finish the main quest before the DLC), the Chinese Stealth Armor (super broken) and the Gauss Rifle also super strong
I still wish you could get the cool winter combat armor & preserved guns (like the ones in the simulation with the paint intact) but hey you can spawn them in lol
I remember I used it so much I managed to bring the durability bar to around 75% or so. Between the winterized power armor and the Chinese stealth suit, this was hands down one of the best DLCs I’ve ever played in any game.
The repair mechanic was one of the things keeping me from really getting into Fallout 3. It makes sense to have it, but it's not implemented well. Now that I know about this, maybe I'll give it another chance sometime.
I remember placing a dead body(container) ontop of the simulation pod you get in, before I got in, completing the whole story, ie killing the general and in the final loading screen spamming a to get into the container before you leave the pod, then you got unbreakable whatever you placed in there. Gold.
My favorite bug. It was the only reason I survived my first full playthrough. That and the Rock-it launcher. Nothing better than watching a frypan tale the head of a power armored Enclave soldier clean off, then watching the severed head ride that pan away into the distance on kill-cam.
The way I used to take advantage of the bug is grab a garry clone corpse and set in into the virtual pod of the anchorage simulation before you start the dlc and when the dlc is over before you load into the game just spam A until you get to the gary's body inventory and offload all of your operation anchorage gear and boom winterized gear in the capital wasteland
I got fallout 3 free from the epic store. This is no longer a bug because the armor degrades like normal, I was extremely disappointed. I always try to immediately do the anchorage dlc first because of that bug.

Don't forget to set Gary in the chair before you do the Anchorage quest so you can take all of the good weapons out of the simulation

Also can take a hell of a beating too, charged through the glowing sea the other day and had a total of 6 deathclaw encounters, and then a few ghouls, followed by a ton of bugs and about a dozen radscorpions. Only needed to use about 3 stimpacks and one rad away, other than that the armor definitely held up.
Same thing with the guns from the sim you can get them through a glitch in console version and you never have to repair them

I was playing a save so long that I eventually saw the armor start to deteriorate
I love how they give you access to the talkies armour and the best stealth armour haha
Yeah, the Operation Anchorage DLC was pretty broken.
Aside from the glitch with which you can keep all the ubreakable items from the simulation, completing the DLC grants you the unbreakable T51 power armor, power armor training (you'd have to finish the main quest before the DLC), the Chinese Stealth Armor (super broken) and the Gauss Rifle also super strong
I still wish you could get the cool winter combat armor & preserved guns (like the ones in the simulation with the paint intact) but hey you can spawn them in lol
There was actually a way you could. It involved the Gary in the locked room next door. Fun times

That’s why when you start a new game, you do the operation Anchorage campaign as soon and you get out of the vault.
Everytime I start a new game, I immediately head over to start the dlc for this armour and the Gauss rifle.

I remember I used it so much I managed to bring the durability bar to around 75% or so. Between the winterized power armor and the Chinese stealth suit, this was hands down one of the best DLCs I’ve ever played in any game.
The repair mechanic was one of the things keeping me from really getting into Fallout 3. It makes sense to have it, but it's not implemented well. Now that I know about this, maybe I'll give it another chance sometime.
I remember placing a dead body(container) ontop of the simulation pod you get in, before I got in, completing the whole story, ie killing the general and in the final loading screen spamming a to get into the container before you leave the pod, then you got unbreakable whatever you placed in there. Gold.
I have never knew this. Just thought it was different but now we know that the Gary 23 glitch is fully completed with all of the best weapons.
I did the anchorage missions first on my first playthrough, the whole time i kept looking for the best armor not knowing i already had it
My favorite bug. It was the only reason I survived my first full playthrough. That and the Rock-it launcher. Nothing better than watching a frypan tale the head of a power armored Enclave soldier clean off, then watching the severed head ride that pan away into the distance on kill-cam.
I've learned after all my time playing Bethesda games that they are never bugs they are just features.
This “bug” was totally intentional and passed off as an oversight it happens all the time
The way I used to take advantage of the bug is grab a garry clone corpse and set in into the virtual pod of the anchorage simulation before you start the dlc and when the dlc is over before you load into the game just spam A until you get to the gary's body inventory and offload all of your operation anchorage gear and boom winterized gear in the capital wasteland
Every fallout three run I do I always get this armor usually first thing, it's so easy to get to
I got fallout 3 free from the epic store. This is no longer a bug because the armor degrades like normal, I was extremely disappointed. I always try to immediately do the anchorage dlc first because of that bug.
That explains why my health never went down fighting death claws

When I got FO3 years ago, I got this armor and it was the only armor I ever wore for the entire game.
