I like the high dez area. I spent the summers at my grandmas house in Susanville when I was a kid. I have been on the other side of the country for my whole adult life.40 years in Florida.Last time I was up there was 2011....we flew in and out of Reno in 1960’s. The airport was a small single story building ....
Best video yet. Taking my private check ride on the 23rd and this kind of content is super motivating. Thanks for your contribution to the aviation community. Can’t wait to train for this...
Kevin, yes, this is how You promote this kind of aviation. Help bring up the next generation and teach them Your skills, and this can go on forever. Good job.
I believe so much of the skill set is being able to run equipment (well) in general….basically you’re able to feel what is happening, optimize that feeling and run the equipment up to that line….run dozers, loaders, excavators etc..
This is an awesome video! It's really nice to hear/see you talk Weston through the techniques, along with your recent solo videos where you talk through your thought process when coming in to land...this is why I watch bush flying videos. Keep up the good work Kevin!
Thankyou Kev! and just as much, thankyou Weston! I honestly learnt soo much from this video. Twice so far, and excuse me while I go for no.3. please keep up this tutorial style Kev, it's awesome!
Been following you guys for a few years now, and I have to say, if it wasn’t for all of you making videos I would have never thought about becoming a pilot. It’s definitely on my to do list. You guys are stewards of the bush flying world and I appreciate what you guys do to show us what’s it’s like. Seriously, keep the great videos coming.
Geez Weston nice job Sir! Kevins a good teacher eh Pitch for airspeed Power for altitude nice steep stable approaches over those damn tall trees...... for the greaser Cheers guys and great content
Wow you guys Rock!! Great group of guys im so envious... between you and trent mike and all of you!! i am going to get my pilots license!! you all are amazing pilots and i really respect you guys really makes me feel like there’s still some of America left!! let’s hope it doesn’t get taken away from us.... stay safe flight slow, takeoff quick and smooth!!;-). Thanks KEVIN QUINN......!
Hi Kevin. This hit the enjoyment factor to an all time high. Entertaining, informative, skill appreciation and safety just brilliant! Please do a series covering each terrain type. Genius :)
thanks for using the right terminology, so many times people say wilderness instead of back-country. wilderness areas among others are protect from many things and aircraft is one of them.
I would love to get over and do some training with the legends of aviation 👌👍🏻 I started making videos after following you guys. An inspiration to aviation.
Thanks for sparking a love that I have put on the back shelf for a long time. I love watching you and Trent and the rest of the flying Cowboys make these trips. This has been a dream of mine for most of my life. I have been in Aviation maintenance for over 35 years but just never was able to finish my ticket as raising a family and kids college was always priority. I have managed to maintain my love through model aviation and I love how you put the slow flight to use in full scale. Keep up the videos and be safe.
Fun day with consummate power management skills on display. STOL-Drag content was fine and all but this is so much better in every way. You’re killing it Kevin.
This is such a great video! It’s my dream to do this kind of flying. I love seeing you guys going in an out of so many different types of situations. I would sell one of my kids to get to spend a day flying with you in some of these environments! Ha!
Great video. You said it was going to be a little bit different and I'm glad it was. I suppose all of us who watch your videos aspire to do the same kind of flying and this one was inspiring and didactic both. I have a 180 Maule and would love to come learn the way Weston has.
Wahoo ! So interesting to watch and nice to see an aviat husky joining the cubs and the foxes ! It is great to understand what all the skills needed behind the nice videos. When you compare your landings and Trent's for example, Trent is always very fast and you are always slower, is that due to differences between Kit Fox and Cub ? Thanks again for this Kevin, every time I watch videos from the Flying Cowboys my will to become a "bush" pilot increase. We can't do this in France due to regulations but near my place there is a small airpot with a flying school on small planes, need to spare some money !!! ;-)
I think that would be a dream come true I just couldn’t imagine hanging with you guys it would be like crazy wow!!! I definitely never had a boring life that’s for sure I’ve seen more than you could ever believe but this one is like a fantasy I need something good in my life!!!!
I think you have stubble across a real service and a gem: STOL, back country flight training student videos. You should do this more. Should really do a STOL Drag School (SDS) video series. Thank you Kevin, you are the Soul of STOL right now use is to benefit general aviation.
As the world collapses into violence and war, STOL Pilots will be on the front lines of our fight with the Chinese take-over. Their extreme unique talents give them the skills to infiltrate and bomb every China town in America.
That river bottom landing sure looked like just outside of Doyle, where I used to shoot jack rabbits as a kid. Not too far from the wrecking/salvage yard.
At 1:35 “People are afraid of flying slow”. That would be me. Stall warning would mean more power and pitch for speed. If you have ever stalled an aircraft and crashed, you would understand. I love watching these videos, but I don’t think I could do it myself. My flying instructor instilled in me this saying. “There is nothing as useless as the altitude above you”. I’ll never tire of watching these videos tho.
Great flying, both of you! Is there still a ranch at Marlette? I was up here with my dad to deliver fuel as a kid. Got the tanker truck stuck in the mud and had to get pulled out with the owners cat.
Nice seeing a Husky slowed down for a change! Around my parts, near the Husky/Aviat plant, they seem to be largely flown by guys who never take them off airport, and wear out the bush wheels on pavement.
That jungle bar approach is sick to watch.
It don't get no funner that this. thanks for posting these
Weston’s Jungle Bar landing was gorgeous!

Good luck!
Nice video and good shots for explaining. Thanks
Off airport 'self' training... Great idea. Nice that you are 'mentoring' with Wes. Bravo to you.
I learned a lot watching this. Thanks
Excellent video in a beautiful place, thank you for sharing.
Love it Quinner! Some real great advice here, I'd love to have you teach me a thing or two some day!
Good flyin guys.

Kevin,
Really cool video, this kind of content is where you shine 👍
Awesomeness! This is the type of flying that I will be working towards. Love the video.
That is awesome I really think your videos are a lot of help for pilots like me that are just getting started. So thank you buddy
Really good training video Kevin! Enjoyed the different 'perspectives' and your narration.
Glad your getting time to edit. This is a great video.
I grew up with a view of Honey Lake, super cool to see you flying in that area!
Loved this video. I liked seeing your landing then providing input during his landings. Jungle Bar was awesome!!
Been following you guys for a few years now, and I have to say, if it wasn’t for all of you making videos I would have never thought about becoming a pilot. It’s definitely on my to do list. Very nice video! Thanks for the ride!
Geez Weston nice job Sir! Kevins a good teacher eh Pitch for airspeed Power for altitude nice steep stable approaches over those damn tall trees...... for the greaser Cheers guys and great content
So cool watching you land at Lahontan where I camp all summer!
Hey, my friend. Had to sell my Piper for health reasons. Now I fly through you. Keep up the good work. Cheers.
Hard to believe Weston is a 300 hour pilot. He clearly gets it. Great addition to the group. Thanks Kevin , bush flying is the best !
Awesome Kevin! Thanks for sharing. Some beautiful places there, and superb flying! Hi from Iowa.
Awesome video ! Many thanks for posting.
Excellent video, those large empty desert spaces helps a lot getting used to slow flying the plane.
Great explaining Kevin.

They keep getting better Kevin:)
So cool!!!! Nice work!

On the edge of my seat the whole time. A $300,000 aircraft and your life on the line. Fascinating.
+Wouter van Tiel 💥👊

Enjoyed that 👍🏻✈️
Great stuff Kevin Quinn..

Awesome video Kevin! I’m a student pilot in Canada. I hope to do some bush piloting someday. Thanks for making the videos!
Awesome tips!

What a fun day! Would love to get a STOL aircraft one day. Looks like fun.
Fantastic
This is such a great video! It’s my dream to do this kind of flying. I love seeing you guys going in an out of so many different types of situations. I would sell one of my kids to get to spend a day flying with you in some of these environments! Ha!
Cool stuff right there.

Gosh I hate living in the city, this is a dream, I would never be disappointed if I lived like this.
The tires grew up fast in 6 months! Must be feeding those little guys well!
Great job! real meat and potatoes hear. Very instructional. Husky seems to be a solid and predictable machine I will look into them more
Glad you are doing videos now. Always enjoy when you're on with Trent. Would be sick to fly with you guys!
Exactly
I think that would be a dream come true I just couldn’t imagine hanging with you guys it would be like crazy wow!!! I definitely never had a boring life that’s for sure I’ve seen more than you could ever believe but this one is like a fantasy I need something good in my life!!!!

All really nice places to land but Jungle Bar was SWEET! The water stuff looks risky. Cool but risky.
power & energy!
"...send it" might have a shooter on your hands!
Congrats on picture of the day on GA news
Really cool!
Sweet Stuff!!
Damn I need to get myself a plane my next goal to achieve Pilot license first I suppose nice video
Awesome video! I'm going to be buying a Carbon Cub asap and want to get some training from you!
wow, i have to do this!
It's comforting to know we have such skilled STOL pilots. I feel they will play an important roll in the future.
As the world collapses into violence and war, STOL Pilots will be on the front lines of our fight with the Chinese take-over. Their extreme unique talents give them the skills to infiltrate and bomb every China town in America.

That’s a cool sounding plane. Is that whistling sound from the prop?
Love it! What camera are you using?
Very cool.

Just noticed the vent in the skylight...never seen one there, interesting, food for thought!
