    Thinking of going sea fishing did you ever use a dead bait rod for pike. Don't want to spend much as i live a fair distance

      Use whatever you have, just rinse it off with freshwater from the tap when you get home to make sure it doesn’t rust after the saltwater 👌

      For shore fishing, you don't need heavy duty tackle. Regular rod you'd use for pike or salmon will do fine. You only need heavy duty rods for fish like Turbot, Coalfish, big Pollack, Ling ect that you won't get off the shore. The biggest fish you might get on the shore is Conger Eels
