Coming from a finance background and having interacted with various systems, including non-ERP, I’ve been studying Odoo’s accounting module, and I’m not sure if I'm too impressed with it so far. It feels similar to Deltek Maconomy, seemingly preferred by non-English-speaking, Euro-centric markets. The UI is difficult to navigate, and the accounting logic feels overly complex. For those familiar with British or North American systems, Odoo lacks the well-rounded accounting features we’re accustomed to. Moreover, it misses robust in-built controls and proper user security restrictions. All this makes it harder to mitigate risk and maintain control over an organization's financials or Books.
