good luck on warranty claims or if you get the wrong parts...if you can follow a labyrinth of complicated instructions for returning parts with no human interaction, you will wind up bald after pulling all your hair out.
Thanks alot for this video. It helped me confirm that my wife's 2015 Ford Fusion does NOT have back seat access to the fuel pump. Before, I was thinking in and out in 30. Fun times 😒
Excellent video. Thank you. 1.5L 2014 Fusion SE does not have an access panel under the seat either. Engine has to crank a long time before enough fuel reaches the high pressure pump up front to start, then it runs like a dream so I am assuming it is the rear pump that is failing. Was having trouble finding any instructions on replacing the fuel pump until I found your video, and now I feel much more confident that I can do the replacement.
a note..i work on classic Italian cars,, and i deal with rusty nuts and bolts all the a time... best way to remove them with out snaping them of.. spray some oil on the bolt / nut threads.. let soak in a for a few mins,, then this is the important part.. before you try to loosen that bolt/nut... just give a little tighting on the nut/ bolt.. a little more spray lube.. no loosen it.. this breaks the rust bond better.. and if you can.. get a wire tooth brush, and clean the threads off ,also use a little lube on all the fitting to install easier.. line the fuel line in the tank,, the little fitting on the fuel pump.. and do a good cleaning on the snap on fitting.. little spray lithium grease wont hurt
Did you need any special tools to undo the connections for the fuel line and vent? Getting those things off without breaking them seems like half the battle sometimes, they're never the same from one model to the next. Any tips? Tackling this next Saturday on my '16 with 195,000 miles. Left me stranded the other day. Edit to add: I see you have a little more detail on the fittings in the reinstallation part of the video (posted before I was done watching). They seem like they won't be too bad.
Hi I have 2016 fusion 2.0L turbo charged with 35965 miles and it won’t start I don’t hear any sound coming from pump it’s cranking but not starting did u have any similar problem sometimes will start but when I hit the gas engine dies
This is my Dad's car so I may miss something, but the work I know of done to it was a cv shaft under warranty, 1 set of spark plugs (probably due again), I believe both front hub assemblies were replaced when 1 started making noise, and this passed winter the grill shutters stopped working so they are forced open currently. Overall he has been really happy with this car. I think he averages about 700 miles a week and it's 95% percent highway miles. Have you had to do much to yours?
@@sleepersftw ok thank so far with mines i just replaced the spark plugs rear shocks and front stabilizer links and only had to change the front brakes twice in four and a half years it just now change the back brakes once within the same time I love my Ford Fusion Run really great
Update on this car. 285000 miles and the power steering sometimes stops working and then starts working again after turning the car off and back on. Anyone have experience with this issue?
@@sleepersftw I just had to replace the electric power steering rack in my daughters 2013. Only had it 2 weeks and has only 31,000 miles on it. Not to bad of a job. There is a good UA-cam video on it. Bought a reman from Detroit Axle on eBay for $260 and it works great. Should really have a recall on it. Other Ford models do, not sure why the Fusion doesn't
It actually does have one It's located near the left rear wheel I change it once and know many 2.5L owners who took pictures of it and changed it as well Fusion 2014, 2015, 2016 2.5L all have the filter so I would assume the 2013 does have it The part number I changed it with was FG1114, that was done by the dealership where I live. I known other ecoboost engine owners who didn't find it though, only found in the 2.5L engine as far as I seen

@@hueyfreeman7010 Nice And please confirm to us if u find it 👍🏼😁 Additionally, the new filter I took Motorcraft (FG1114) isn't registered in their system for the fusion. It's registered as a part for the old cars not sure why, I guess they don't want us to change it. The replacement I did in the dealership was done 7 years ago as a maintenance schedule requested from them. Now for weird reasons they don't include filter changes anymore So maybe if u want to check the old fuel filter and see if there's any information written on it such as part number maybe we can 100% confirm it's the exact same filter, I'm curious There are other filters(Motorcraft) with other part numbers but each one has different nozzle diameter I Believe

Nice job, buddy. The naysayers will be happy to know there's no gas tank access panel under the back seat of my 2019 Fusion S with the 2.5L.

That's awesome I'm glad it helped.
Always test the pump before reassembly.

Just out of curiosity, how many transmission issues have you come across with that car? Im buying the exact same one next Wednesday.
It's had no transmission issues. It's been a very reliable car.
thanks for sharing
My 2013 fusion makes a sloshing sound from the gas tank when it’s full. Never heard it before. Any ideas?
Does this work for 2016
Good video in between them 267k miles did you have to put alot of work in i have 116k miles

It's the rack and pinion these cars don't necessarily have power steering pump for power steering it's all rack and pinion
Is there a way to service it or does the whole assembly have to be replaced?

Does your fusion have an external fuel filter ?
I do not believe the 2.5 has an external fuel filter. If it does, I wasn't able to find it.

none have external fuel filters.. even though the parts guys at napa.. autozone etc. say they do
So...there isn't any fuel filter??? Cuz I'm looking at the Haynes Repair Manual, and I'm not seeing any fuel filter.
I wasn't able to locate one. I'm sure it has one somewhere but it may be a "non serviceable" part.
