This video was a HUGE help! My fuel gauge wasn’t reading accurately after it had been hit by another car and so I decided to drop the fuel tank and look at the fuel sender unit to see if I could see anything I could fix. Turns out the force of the impact knocked the metal wire out of its little plastic clip. If it weren’t for this video I would’ve had a much harder time trying to figure everything out!
It just boggles my mind how American car makers won't put an access door in the car to get to the fuel pump. Japanese cars have had this since the 70s. Granted, fuel pumps don't die regularly, but dropping the tank isn't a reasonable solution for replacing pumps.
The geniuses at Ford. Thought It was a good idea to put the fuel filter inside the fuel pump. So in order to change the fuel filter you have to swap out the fuel pump. Before it was simple as hell to just swap out a fill filter but now they make it to where you have to take it to a dealership or a mechanic. Also so you can spend more money, I just spent 200 on a fuel pump when I could have spent $15 on a fuel filter
As I was replacing the fuel pump on my Ford Focus, I came across another video where they took off the back seat on a Ford fusion and it had access to the fuel pump. Is it the same with a focus??? If so, this could have been so much easier 🤣
Hi there, I hear a clunk when key is in position 2 just before starting is this the fuel pump on its way out? Also hear a noise while car is in idle.. Ford focus 2012. 1.0 ecoboost. Thank you
I have a 2013 Focus 2.0 Looks the same. Is the filter inside the pump unit? Im getting loss of power and not sure what it is. I thought I could start by changing the fuel filter...
I bet any amount of money your fuel line is clogged. This so called fuel filter on the pump is 🐂💩!! Over time particles will bypass the in tank filter and eventually build up in the line and completely clog it. Has this happened on an Audi because this person never changed their in line fuel filter. I hope this helps anyone going through this problem. 🇺🇸 1st 4ever

They do have access holes in American cars this the first one I've seen that didn't

The 2012 Ford Focus does not have an outside fuel filter. The fuel pump is the pump and filter.

There is no access door so most people will have to take it to the ford dealership and pay $900 to replace it. Making them more money.

my 2012 2.0 has slow acceleration, did you replace the filter in your car.

Where is the fuel tank pressure sensor if any? I am aware there is a fuel rail pressure sensor on the engine bay.
