I know it's been a long time since you made this video yet I wanted to say thanks for helping others. My wife car is out of warranty and I'm about to tackle these rear brakes and rotors. I personally do my own brakes all the time but videos like this are helpful as they help identify the little differences from car/model to car/model like ensuring the car is in maintenance mode.
I wasn't watching the video at first, but noticed you were obviously Canadian. Then I flipped over to the video and confirmed that with the Mastercraft tools, eh.
good tutorial but I wish you had showed how to jack up the vehicle and also how you compress the piston in the caliper because these unibody cars are a pain.
Great video, ill be doing this today so I'm glad a ran across this.. amazing that there's grooves in the rotor even though the pad wasn't down to the rivets.. sucks
I have 2014 Fusion titanium and I replaced the brake and now when I push brakes it’s make a grinding noise I tried to put in maintenance mode and it don’t do it. I had a rock stuck up in one of them making a grinding noise prior to replacing back brakes. Which they were not grinding when pushing down on them but one pad was worn down. Now after replacing it grinds when pushing them. Pease any suggestions would appreciate it.
should use a proper brake silicone based grease ..... it can withstand the high temps ... and less is more with the grease .... a lot of guys put way too much of it on
You still have to compress the caliper. I just used a screwdriver and pried the whole caliper to the side, pushing the piston in. Before I removed the caliper. But you can just do it with a c clamp after you remove the caliper if you want to.
Russell Hoover because it’s an electronic motorized emergency brake and putting it in maintenance mode releases the gears so you can push the piston back.
Another Claw Hammer Video.... NEVER use a claw hammer on metal...use a ball peen hammer...its made for metal. I simply will not view the video when I see someone doing something dangerous!
How's everything in Saskatoon? To answer your statement, several years ago a buddy of mine used a claw hammer to tap on a transmission. A shard flew off and stuck in his eye, blinding him. A ball pen hammer is made of less hard metal and will dent before cracking.

Great vid...thank you.. Unfortunately the brake deactivation technique does not work on the UK version of the fusion😩

I just ordered mine rear rotors and pads
Looking at videos to see what im against.
Hey, would you mind telling us how you lifted the car up. It would be much appreciated.
with a jack
@@O5FS jackass!
@@poofypoopy8838 I mean he asked I told him
Great Video. Mine is a 2015 same color too. Brakes are MOOSH~ 84k Second Set supposedly,

So if you put the rear brake maintenance mode on you don't have to compress the caliper?

I thought the same thing. What's the point of putting it in maintenance mode?
Russell Hoover because it’s an electronic motorized emergency brake and putting it in maintenance mode releases the gears so you can push the piston back.
No you still have to compress the caliper after you put it in maintenance mode.
First put the car in brake maintence mode first or you will screw up the calipers
next time.... clean the rust off the hub... this will prevent the read disk from extra runout...wobble
I got a 2016 fusion se with 108,000 miles and i didnt have that issue
Should have painted the calipers, but still great video
Dude did you really install shitty Chinese “cut” rotors over the OME Motorcraft ones? Those will wear out quicker than the “junk” Ford ones.
Great video but the rotors are on backwards.
No they are not on backwards. If they had been on backwards the calipers would not have been mountable.
Them power stop rotors are junk .
So what would you recommend?
I have some and they make a clicking sound.
I have them and they're great .... so do all of my friends = good quality brake components

LOL. I remember telling a guy "What are you gonna do, build a house with that thing?" when I seen him using a claw hammer on a car.
Maybe in general but those tiny little taps mostly on the plastic end of a screwdriver were not "dangerous"...

Turn off the radio.
How much is it to fix this
