    Excellent video, may do the same on my 88 5.0 it runs fine now just like the simplicity of a carb set up. Thank you for going so in depth.

    You're probably right about installation error being the cause for bad reviews. On these Fords after you go through the torque sequence, you need to go back through it one more time.

    Doing this on my 1989 Ford f150 302 started this summer it's been one part at a time that bought the truck in January as an $800 siezed truck

    If you have electric fuel pump you need to but a regularor on it to reduce fuel pressure to 6 to 8 pounds

    There are 3 capacitors on the main board replace all 3 they ony had a 15 year life. Clip clean resoder. Make sure you replace them with the exact replacment!!!!!

      I will definitely look into this next time. The whole carb swap makes sense until you realize very few people can tune a carb nowadays. I'll be keeping EFI from now on.

    The pumps in the tank are low pressure just to pick up gas out of the tanks and high pressure to feed engine. High pressure pump for the tank didn't come out until the 90's

      Yes, I read on some forum that the lift pump inside the tank would put out enough psi for a carb but I couldn't get fuel pressure for some reason so I used a junk aftermarket pump mounted where the high pressure pump would've been.

      If anyone is wanting to do this I have heads, intake carburetor etc!!!

    How is it running now? I was just wondering if the casting on that intake is messed up, little hole somewhere in it or not seating good on the carb or block and heads.

      It's running pretty good now. I haven't found any vaccum leaks around the intake and no coolant leaks either. I would say the cheap Chinesium intake is worth every penny.

    AOD? How did you hook up the TV cable?

    • @651Customs
      @651Customs  2 місяці тому

      @TheWagRanch I was mistaken this truck actually has a c6 tranmission. I didn't bother hooking up the kickdown for it because it's not needed on a c6. They do however sell a kit to hook up an aod to a carb for the tv cable.

    Why are yo messing around w that old wire harness? Just get a friend with a voltage meter and check you're wiring coming from the dash. Delete all of that junk

      I did the best I could at the time that I fimed it. I've been doing this for less than a year so far, and I've still got a lot to learn about making videos. Thanks for the feedback.

      This is very possibly the most well filmed and informative video on how to do this swap. I'm not sure what OP is getting at. Must not have paid enough attention!
