This is a Drum Cover Medley of songs that I have created from Meshuggah's 1998 Album Release Chaosphere and is the copyrighted property of its owner(s).
I picked the most interesting drumming parts from each song, cut them up and pieced it together with some trial and error in Protools. I didn't alter the pitch or speed of any song but I wanted the transitions between songs as smooth and unnoticeable as i could so I matched up songs that were similar in feel or speed (i actually found a nice polyrhythmic transition into the last song) :)

Incredible! You absolutely nailed it! Good job getting the hihat pedal going and the ghost notes against that, thats the thing a lot of people seem to miss!
Random periphery comment lmao
@@giseii I think we all know misha loves meshuggah
Also Misha's fav meshuggah album is chaosphere
Moosha Mansir sweating for those grooves
That swing is everything
Just about all of Chaosphere feels like the most insanely brutal samba ever.
I have had the pleasure of seeing them a few times live but have not met any of the band members yet... would absolutely love to talk drums and drink beer with Tomas Haake!
did it happen yet? its been 9 years
@@gargus6287 I hope so
You've definitely earned a sit-down with the man...
almost jumped out my window at Corridor of Chameleons
Alex Heath MESHUGGAH is the only band that I can listen for a whole day and still enjoy it.
you guys know this album is from 1998 right? thats just insane
More like 2029
Fuck yeah dude! That transition into The Exquisite Machine Of Torture is what I always wanted them to do on the album!
The riff on the toms at 9:22 is so hard...!! it's easy to loose the time on that one! very good job!
Dude the transition from Neurotica to The Exquisite Machinery of Torture was amazing!
Definitely the Chaosphere medley
I'm a drummer, and seeing your videos, I can only say that Tomas Haake (and Meshuggah) is a f***n crazy genius...
my goodness! Troy, you are truly supremely talented. Anyone that can play Tomas Haake note for note is a friggen badass, no other way to put that. Listening to Tomas boggles the mind, but to watch someone else also able to do him is incredible. I don't know much about you, (that's about to change) but you should be in one of the worlds top bands making your own sick beats for fools to drool over! BRAVO my friend.
WHEW! Killer job dude, you have some insane skills.
ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE. Some of the most demanding drumming ever. Great work.
yeeeeeeeeeeeees!!!! i love the raw sound of heavy fucking drum machinery!
omg Chaosphere!!! I bought the CD-Rom 3 times when I was teenager because i used to listen it so many times!!! thanks Troy for this video!
@dujl sane was the hardest technically (the double kick part at 5:55) playing it under the left hand then adding the crashes. corridor of chameleons was the hardest physically. double kick was a bit fast for my liking lol
Could literally stand in for tomas if it were needed. They need to know about this guy. Wow.
U give joy to us musicians ... seriously man tooo good ... inspiration ... \m/
Corridor of Chameleons and Neurotica are such groovy songs. Love them. Great cover too.
You're an absolute beast brother. Never put those drumsticks down. You'll go very far.
I haven't stopped listening to Meshuggah daily since I found them 2 years ago. Your rendition here is A++. Once you go Thomas Haake far, the sky is the limit.
This has just melted my face off - congratulations. These medleys deserve 1,000x the views!
can't believe how fucking tight it is.
man that first song with the hats going and the lightning fast bassdrum hits. DAYUM
The transition from each song to the next works very well, excellent job!
@yoyevega thanks man i love this album!
One of the best metronomes of UA-cam - Troy Wright! Nice job. Listening to how you play is a real pleasure :)
Words don't describe what I'm feeling after watching this.
7:15 - 7:50 is one of my favorite parts of any meshuggah song
i cant explain how impressed i am.. i am rarely this impressed like WOW. no words right now.
Hey there :) You are by far the only guy on youtube who recognizes with how much groove can Meshuggah be played, and that is pretty sweet. I'd love to see you do the whole Catch 33.
yeah he seems like a bad ass legend!
And then I saw this. Problably the best drum video I've ever seen..
You are a master dude. It could be really hard to play those drums, for me: one of the most best drums cover. A salute from Spain
Wow ridiculous precision and skill, could sub on tour for Haake anytime. This dude is seriously good.
@Rocker72 haha unreal mate. you're lucky to have got the chance to have interviewed them! i would love to pic tomas's brain for a few hrs! thanks for those TMLWYB vids btw! cheers
U really serious drummer. So many years it's steel high level work , cool . 😎 👏👏👏💪✌️
That transition to corridor of chameleons was brilliant if that was in one play through, nicely done
I love seeing covers played with such passion, feeling the rhythm. Great stuff.
That snare overtone!!!! Chaosphere itself
Bow down to greatness. I am in awe of your skills. Most impressive.
Troy, Bravo. I've been working on Chaossphere for quite a while, and you've nailed some of the toughest songs Meshuggah has released. Well done.
....And you pulled this one off, too. I wanted to cry seeing somebody finally do Concatenation and Neurotica. Love the playing as well as the arrangement and quality. Brilliant, top to bottom. Sickest cover of any kind I've seen.
this guy is wining at life.
MATE!!! The way you ''Bleed'' into each song is just....... well, Fn EPIC!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is the best thing I have ever seen on UA-cam
awesome dude just awesome Troy i'm drummer in french mesh electro metal band and i worked with Travis Orbin On cartoon Theory and i just want to say you make me a clap inside my face. your ghost notes is sick woaaa . thanks for this video and your talent...
This is an insane album for the drums. Amazing work bro!
best meshuggah drumming i've seen on youtube
The amount of my respect is indescribable.
Hey great drumcover man. Finally a drummer o actually makes music in mesh-cover :)
I saw your score of Concatenation, I think Meshuggah would view this as a straight 4/4 and loop the frases over the barlines.
@timothydog76 Thanks man! I love this album!
I agree 333%.
DO IT TROY.
DO IT WRIGHT.
Finally a visualization of the drumming!!! Thanks! Much easier now. Thank You!
Awesome as Always Troy!!!
It's just perfect! Brilliant work!
Incredible job and passion, thank you
Your drumming is always flawless.
the transition into TMLWYB was god-like! :)
wow flat out hand down amazing
Well, that was an absolute pleasure to watch. Awesome cover!
@Th3Congregation yeah they're the new demon drives.. I love them. Have them set up quite basically as well. Pretty much straight from the box - short board setup with slightly more spring tension.
Very nicely played my young jedi!!! remember its taken thomas over 30 years to come up with this new style.dont rush it!!! your rippin it.
Amazing dude, I've been a lifer with Meshuggah music and its great to see these done so well... excellent playing!!
In-your-face-drumming. Fucking explosive, man.
great trip through the best riffs. perfectly executed too
Excellent! I always wanted to see Haake himself play this stuff in a studio but this is absolutely a second best! I am impressed!
@FormerlyMrBean667 Cheers mate, it's one of my favourite albums!
Congratulations!
DUDE. You are a beast. Keep up the good work man!
absolutely fantastic
@qpIqp hey mate thanks. the obzen is pretty much done. Im on tour right now so just waiting to get back so to upload it!
I count it out when reading my transcripts but then its all feel after that
My Favorite Album With Insane Drum Cover
Your Skill Totally Sick!!
Speechless..... just speechless
The transition into Exquisite Machinery of Torture was mint!
This is insane, maximum props. This video is a serious accomplishment.
troy....simply a legend!!
breathtaking
I had some lessons when i was younger but stopped when i was about 16 and was self taught after that. As far as technique goes I was really never taught much more than to hold the stick right
As someone said before your technique is really excellent! Could you share the single stroke exercises you used to play a lot?
Wow, I enjoyed this immensely
Please do a drum cover of "I"
that would be the best
not even haake knows that the whole way through... insanity if he tried it
No one knows how "l" goes
@@blasteffect19 theres a couple of covers of it on UA-cam, take a look.
@@Dry7123 i know, already watched some drum and guitar covers even a collab, I was referring to what Tomas said back then
Awesome like always. Thanks for the great content. Keeps me entertained and inspired.
AWESOME DRUMMING!!! I've checked out several of your vids and you ROCK!!!!
i love how sings some of the lyrics as he's playing. that's really fucking awesome.
wow. just wow. extremely accurate drumming and great songs, whats there not to like about your channel
Dude! You're a machine! Fantastic drum cover.
Props man, you killed this for sure!
Believe it or not, these songs are all in 4/4 time. That's how you're able to "feel" it as he says. Btw - NICE job wrightdrums!
Awesomely cool! Enjoyed it a lot.
This is sick!! The thing i find most mad about this is the fact that you start all your double-kick patterns with your right foot. I've got so used to starting some bits with the left that this would totally mess with my mind now hahaha. Again, this is sick!
Thanks for de-mystifying those parts. Playing along doesn't seem so impossible now.
Hope you'll keep these medley videos coming dude, they're insane.
so flawless 0.0
At the 8:00 man you just made the song move so much
I'm always watching your videos and it's really fun!, Like your style.
Greetings from Chile!
you are an awesome musician!
You sir are absolutely fucking monstrous on that kit!!!!
spot on. cheers.
I have never seen someone work out those drums so hard...
Thanks mate, it's a great album!
