To be fair, if I remember correctly they're 100% more technologically advanced than both. Even more than Super Earth. The difference between Automatons and Illuminate is basically Battle Droids and the literal Covenant from Halo. It's no wonder they're more advanced in tech and fighting style.
@@bagel5833 back in hd 1, they are also much more advance than automatons, except they are very squishy and weak, the only thing to compensate for their squishiness is their energy shields
Yeah from what I heard they have these abilities because they aren’t nearly as tanky as Automotons. And they get shields that really disrupt gunfire. ALL EXCEPT THE THROWING KNIFE. Which was apparently an anti illuminate weapon back in the day cause their shields don’t register “primitive” human weapons. So yeah, can’t wait to see how everyone’s tunes change with that grenade type.
First of all, if no one noticed, "The Prophet" is a direct refrence to Halo, second, people said you may have to lock in to fight bots and uneeded for bugs, BUT THE ILLUMINATE, you gotta be literal military intelligence to play.
From what I've seen on the net they have found a "god" when they were cast out of the galaxy in the first game. And that eldritch entity gave them those magic powers but they are basically slaves to it now. Basically squids found a magic space kraken or cuthulu and started to worship it.
I havent played helldivers 1, nor can i see the code, but I speculate that the "fake" variant of the illuminate guys are decoy versions that attack but dont't do damage. There's no real parry system, and you have a gun, so I dont personally see an illuminate fainting an attack, instead projecting a false version to distract you. This would also be really spooky deployed a distance because you'd see twice as many guys than there actually are. Might be wrong, but either way this calamari spicy ah hell wtf.
The Zealot is going to be some sort of shielded melee enemy. One that probably has a ranged attack as well i reckon. The Obelisk and Sentry, definitely mechanised units. Feel as if the obelisk will have the ability to teleport in reinforcements after a set up time, possibly shielded with close range Arc weapons. The Sentry, possibly a combat-centric version of the observer? All in all, with the leaked units and the sheer horror their leaked music evokes... im hoping we see them soon. With what i know of HD1, the Illuminate attacking Super Earth on Liberty Day sounds like the most likely thing. Catch the enemy with their guard down. They got defeated, lost their homeworld in the first war. They're rightfully pissed and most likely won't underestimate their enemy a second time. No room for peace. Just annihilation.
One thing that does intrigue me quite a bit is the tiers on these illuminate units, between the level 1-2 tripods and mages, the assassin summoner and secondary ghoul. This is definitely going to be the most interesting faction for super earth to slaughter.
i hope AH plays this right, having it be subtle, a few clips start surfacing of helldivers seeing quick glimpses of unknown attackers, players getting genuinely scared as it becomes a horror game with lights and noises they've never heard before I know for a fact I saw one of my friends get sniped by a bright blue beam a long while ago
Should keep the difference of three types of ememy.Automatons-basically medium or heavy armor, but always got weakpoint.Terminate-from light to heavy, players need a best team to face all situations.Illuminate-basically light, some of them medium armor, but all of them got charging shield.
I just know the bugdivers are gonna have a meltdown over all the aoe, teleportation, and shielding. Looks like the squiddiver contingent has to pull triple duty. I know the botdivers can't spare anyone.
I’m an M.O. Diver, I go where I’m told, do what I’m told, I genuinely don’t get how players don’t play both factions, you’re quite literally only getting half the game you bought by doing that. I will say though, between oil spillers and bug smashers, here’s some wisdom that shows the difference. During bot MO’s, 50% of the players contribute towards the bot side and 95% of them are on the right planets, during bug MO’s, 95% of players are on the bug side but only 50% are on the right planets. Also, I’ve just generally noticed that bug players always split out on planets in ways where zero liberation progress is made, for example, they always have split between Estanu and Crimsica to where they make rapid progress on neither.
@bradychapman5645 The bug players tend to be a bit more casual while the bot players are more sweaty. It makes sense that bug players don't really care about major orders. Besudes, there's so many people fighting bugs that it doesn’t matter if the do the major order or not. Meanwhile, bot players are stretched so thin that they wouldn't get anything done unless they coordinated. I plan to focus more on the illuminate when they arrive, but I do trade to focus on major orders when they pop up. I'm just not as worried about bugs because there's so many damn bug divers.
